"Alright I'm going out." Mia walked pass the kitchen

"Ok" I said, putting my macaroni in the oven

"One of my male friends wants to take me shopping" she added, getting her purse off the counter

"I didn't ask" I closed the oven door

"I just thought I'd let you know"  she shrugged, smirking "See ya later" she said before leaving out

"He came over here twice. She claims he's her baby's father" I flipped the chicken in the frying pan

"Well with a girl like Mia, any nigga could be the father. Niggas who ain't even hit it could be the father" my uncle responded

"You can't talk like that, old man" I laughed

He chuckled "I'm just speaking the truth. So what did you do when you saw him?"

"Nothing." I checked my macaroni and cornbread "We greeted each other in a very weird way and kept it moving" I shrugged

"So basically y'all pretended like y'all were complete strangers to each other"

"Noooo. He told her that we went to the same high school"

"Heaven, I know you still have feelings for that boy"

"I do not"

"Then why have we been talking about him for the past 30 minutes?"

"It has not been 30 minutes" I smacked my lips

"You right. It's been 47 minutes and 16, 17, 18, 19 seconds"

"I don't have feelings for him anymore. I was just telling you what's been going on"

"Mhm. Sureeee" he said sarcastically

"Why you being sarcastic?"

"Because I know you and I know you lying" he chuckled

"I ain't- hold up somebody's at the door" I walked to the door with my phone in my hand

"See who it is first, don't just open the door" he told me

I looked through the peephole and my heart dropped.

"Uncle Steve, I'ma call you back." I said

"Everything ok?" he asked in a concerned tone

"Yeah...everything is fine" I assured him

"Ok. Love you"

"Love you too" I said before hanging up

He knocked again and I jumped. I took a deep breath before opening the door

"Hey" I was greeted by Chris

"Hi. Uhm Mia isn't here right now"

"So how long you gone keep this act up?" he asked, walking in without asking

"What act?" I backed up as he closed and locked the front door

"Heaven don't play with me" he straight faced me

"I-I don't know what you mean"

"You pretending like we were never together"

"That was 5 years ago"

"So you don't miss me? You haven't thought about me once? When you saw me the other day your heart beat didn't speed up?" he walked closer to me with every question

"Chris..." I was stuck, my body didn't want to move, I wanted him to move closer to me

"I missed you" he pulled me into him, lifting my head up with his index finger

"I missed you too.." I looked into his eyes, my heart beat speeding up just from his touch

He leaned down and finally his lips connected with mine. He moved his hand from my face to my waist, pulling my body even closer to his. It's like I could feel the heat of his body radiating onto mine. His soft lips moved in sync with mine while his thumbs drew circles on my back. I found myself moaning and finally wrapping my arms around his neck. He slid his warm tongue into my mouth and I copied his actions. He lifted me up, wrapping my legs around his waist.

I missed his lips, his touch, the feeling of his body against mine.

He sat on the couch, making me straddle him. We finally pulled away, breathing hard.

"I gotta go check my food" I got up from his lap

He followed me with a confused look as I went into the kitchen.

"Why you being like this?"

"You're the father of Mia's baby" I shook my head, getting my macaroni out the oven

"I don't want Mia tho"

"And you just got out of a breakup" I added, getting my cornbread too

"I clearly didn't want her either"

"Can you just leave...please" I sighed

"What the fuck, Heav" he squinted

"I've missed you, I have. You're on my mind all the time, especially now...but this is all too much. You have a baby on the way, you just broke up with someone, and to me it seems like you loved her. I just need to gather my thoughts." I explained

"Ight. You got it" he nodded before leaving

I watched him walk out the door before leaning on the counter, resting my face in my hands.

Well that escalated quickly
