"So what're going to do. We don't know how far it is from here to the Han River?"
"We'll just have to walk like our lives depend on it. Cause it does,"

Taehyung's face paled instantly at her statement unbeknownst to her as she was too busy turning the room upside for things that could aid in their journey.
The brown haired boy struggled to find words, but how could he with the air leaving his lungs as the seconds ticked by. He was slowly drifting away from the shore of reality far too lost in his world of panic.
I noticed his breathing was becoming shallow and his face was now the colour of freshly fallen snow.
"Taehyung. Hey look at me!"
Oh no no no this is bad
"Breathe please breathe!" I shouted, but he wouldn't budge. So I just did the first thing that came to my mind.
"AHH God I-"
Oh thank God he's ok now
"Did you just hit me in the face!?" He shreiked in disbelief while nursing his aching left cheek.
"I'm sorry, but it brought you back didn't it?" I defended now in more relaxed mood. I walked over to the closet and skimmed through the neatly arranged layers of clothing trying to avoid his dark coffee like gaze swimming with diluted anger.
He cleared his throat before responding.
"Y-Yeah. Thank you Kazumi,"
I paused for a moment and threw some random pieces of clothing on the bed before plopping down on the edge closest to my new companion. The bed barely sinking under my weight.
"Taehyung I'm just as terrified as you are, but..." I trailed off with a sigh before continuing.
"If we stick together and trust each other. There is no way we'll..."
I have to choose my words carefu-
"Die right?" He finished. Taehyung was staring at the ceiling like it was the most interesting thing in the world.
I myself must admit that no matter how tough I look on the outside I'm certainly not immune to emotions. I've just grown a shell to protect myself. You never know who you can really trust, but obviously I wasn't gonna let Taehyung know that.
"Hey coffee eyes I'm not that ugly. There's no way the ceiling is prettier than me," I mused, hoping to get at least a chuckle out of him.
He looked at me and gave a half hearted smile.
"We'll be okay. Just stay close to me okay. I don't wanna lose you and I haven't even gotten to know you better yet,"
"Ok Mimi," I automatically stiffened and my face hardened. The pet name brought back memories that I have been trying my best to lock away.
"Hey you alr-,"
"Don't. Just don't call me that,"
"I'm sorry I didn't know you disliked it,"
"Look around the room for anything useful. I'll go check around the other places,"
"I-,"
"Please," I cut him off before turning on my heels and sprinting downstairs. Deep down I felt guilty for being so rude to him, but the uncomfortable sensation that made my stomach churn made its way to the forefront of my mind.
I have to keep reminding myself that there are more important things than my feelings. The only thing that matters now is to make it to Seoul.
I have no time for grieving

February 14, 2054
We went to bed shortly after. I slept in the guest room while he slept in the bedroom I sleep in which was just as luxurious as the latter.
The old owners of the house were rich so everything here was either expensive or worth more than a small cottage.
The moon fell and the sun had just risen, painting the desolate city in a light coat of a mixture of yellow, red and orange temporarily.
"Taehyung!"
"Yeah!"
"Come help me out here!"
"Coming!"
The two survivors were up before the first crow of the cockerel to pack all they would need for their journey to the Han River.
"Yes?"
"I need you to help me carry these box to the living room. The quicker we get it done the better,"
I was labelled as a Drill Sargent when I was 11 as I was always barking orders at people. Even Amid would get annoyed by me bossing her around like I was the oldest and it bugged the hell out of her.
"Careful!" Taehyung warned as he helped me carry the last box. It was heavy, but I was determined to carry it.
We placed the box on the coffee table careful not to break it. Not that it mattered, but it would be a shame to destroy something so expensive.
"Pass me a knife please. I'll deal with this while you take the bags down here. Oh and bring the grocery list,"
He nodded and made his way upstairs.
Inside in the boxes were old things the previous owners were probably planning on getting rid of. Each box had something useful, except for the one with old toys.
"Here they are. Oh and this fell out on the last step," he held up the red lingerie with a sheepish grin.
I all but snatched it from him and shoved it in my bag. My face heated in embarrassment leaving it a tint of fuchsia.
"We have e-everything now. So let's get going shall we?" She said.
As the two walked towards the door with their blindfolds around their heads and guns in hand, the air seemed to thicken with each step. The knapsack over their backs felt heavier than they actually were.
"This is it. Don't let go of my hand okay?"
The brown haired boy nodded and placed his clammy palms against hers before locking their fingers.
Kazumi's heart was hammering in her chest; it wasn't because they were holding hands. It was the fear that was slowly creeping on her and pumping through her veins that made this happen to her.
She just hoped it wasn't loud enough for Taehyung to hear.
____________
The whole time they were outside none of them made a sound. It was eerily quiet except for the crunching of dead leaves beneath their feet.
"How much longer till we get there?"
"Not much longer Tae we're just about approaching the road,"
With hands interlocked we finally made it to the road. The first rays of sunlight hitting our skin.
We stepped up to the door and I reached for the keys to open it. My shotgun was pointed in front of me just in case.
It was silent upon entry so I didn't sense the presence of anyone else.
I was so wrong
