Lessons

Laila peered out the opening of her tent while her fingers worked at a steady pace on her needle work.

Tywin and her had left King's Landing about three days ago and they were almost home. She was grateful that Tywin nor Cersei did not give up her to Robert.

It was only after Tywin and she left was it that he informed her what Robert's plan for her more than likely was if she was to be left there.

She didn't want that at all.

Tywin had wandered into the tent not long after. He had just been out checking on their men and their provisions.

"Dinner will be here shortly."

Tywin informed her as he entered and walked over to his desk. Laila looked over at Tywin and gave a small smile and a nod. She looked back down to her lap and resumed her work, her nibble fingers moving at a pace that caused Tywin to watch for a moment.

"You're very skilled."

Tywin spoke causing Liala to glance up from her work with another small smile. Tywin noted how almost shy it seemed which caused his own lips to twitch for a moment before he corrected it.

"Thank you. I've had years of practice."

She had always been soft spoken and today was no different. Tywin's eyes seemed fixated on her for an odd reason. It was like the hand motions she took put him in a trace like state.

It was only then Tywin caught himself actually admiring his wife. He sighed deeply through his nose.

Her long blonde nearly a strawberry blonde hair was tucked up back behind her head.  Her skin wasn't so much sun kissed as most people in the South was but he couldn't really find fault in her completion when he was rather white himself.

Laila glanced out of the corner of her eye and caught Tywin staring at her. She immediately stopped working.

"Is everything alright my lord?"

She questioned innocently. Tywin's eyes flickered up to her having known he'd been caught staring.

"Just admiring the view."

He told her causing a blush to come to her cheeks before turning her head back down toward her lap. Tywin couldn't help but chuckle as he leaned back further into his chair.

"How did someone like yourself ever come from the type of family you had?"

Laila didn't know if she was meant to answer it or if it was just a rhetorical question, so she waited to see if he would continue, which he did.

"Your father was rather prideful, he liked to boast about things he knew nothing about."

"He did, yes. But it was because he was prideful."

Laila spoke up looking from her work. She noticed the amused look upon her Lord husband's face.

"And in the end it was his pride that became his downfall, which I suppose, my lord, is why I am so quiet."

"You don't wish to end up like your father."

Tywin pushed causing Laila to nod.

"Your father was not only prideful, but a fool. He was foolish enough to think he was on the same level as us Lannisters. Well, he should know that Lannisters don't act like fools."

Tywin stated as he rose from his chair and walked slowly toward his wife.

"They needed to be taught. And from their lesson others will learn to never cross the Lannister name again."

Tywin said gazing into the eyes of the of last living Reyne. She looked at him with no hate nor any emotion that Tywin would preview as threatening.

"It's what you had to do I under stand my lord husband."

She said. Tywin hummed and his fingers slipped under her chin keeping her looking at him.

"Do you now girl?"

His tone was deep, wanting, Laila could clearly hear it in his tone. The ends of her lips curled up and she gave him one of those innocent smiles she knew got him going more in moments like this.

She had quickly learned that not every intimate moment was between the sheets. Tywin was an experienced man and his flirting and aggressive behavior toward sensual actions did not always end up with them there.

"I would surely hope so, Lord husband."

She gave a strangled laugh as she played along with Tywin's little game.

But it then took an unexpected turn when Tywin's thumb went and started to caress the underside of her chin.

Her eyes widened a bit as she watched his lips draw nearer to her and then over hers. Her eyes fluttered shut and she kissed back almost instantly.

She heard a deep groan come from her Lord husband as his lips molded over her own.

He pulled away suddenly.

"Mi'lord, mi'lady, your dinner."

One of the guards said as he entered the tent seeing Tywin standing there beside his wife, who was sitting in her chair.

"Place it on the table and leave."

Tywin requested and the guard followed orders as he carried their food to the table in the middle of the small tent.

Laila snuck a quick glance up to her husband and she felt her heart flutter.

He too was looking down at her.
