Celebrations
Liala had not been accompanied by Tywin on their ride to the capital. Tywin had road horse back while she was placed in a covered carriage and road more or less unseen. Upon their arrival Tywin escorted his young wife up the steps and into the large castle.
Liala had been a rather sheltered child and had never been to King's Landing. To Casterly Rock yes, but never to a place as lavish as this she was seeing now.
"I must warn you."
Tywin spoke as he walked arms linked with Liala escorting her like a gentleman. She gazed up at him, her large doe like eyes gleaming with curiosities. Tywin noticed this almost instantly.
"My son-in-law the king is a rather presumptuous character. I want you by my side or within my sights the whole time we are here."
Tywin explained causing Laila great confusion. She had heard that king Robert had rumors of various bastards floating around, but she didn't expect Tywin to be concerned for her since she could not, well, concive.
"Yes my Lord husband."
Liala said softly. Tywin made eye contact with her and they stopped in the middle of the hallway. The guards that had escorted them since Casterly Rock stopped walking as well. Laila became confused as she looked up at the taller lord.
"I'm serious. Do me the favor and humor me. Stay where I can see you."
Liala parted her mouth slightly. Tywin's tone was soft yet stern something he rarely did show when they were in the public eye.
"I promise you, Tywin, I won't leave your side."
She gave him a small reassuring squeeze of the arm and he seemed to take her promise seriously enough to continue onward toward the throne room.
"Lord Tywin Lannister and Lady Laila Lannister!"
The announcer yelled as the large chamber doors opened and Tywin escorted Liala inside.
In truth she wasn't expecting to see this many people in court, then again she guessed it was because of Tywin and everyone wanting to see the famous man that owned Casterly Rock and his wife the last surviving Reyne married Lannister which saved her own life.
"Tywin! Good to see you!"
Robert laughed out as the two of them made it to the middle of the throne room and then stopped bowing before the steps. This was the only time Tywin released his wife was to bow. Even once he was finished he stood up straight and Liala could feel his arm grazing hers every so often.
It was a... it was a rather nice feeling. She didn't know if Tywin was doing more for himself or for her, but she knew that he was very well aware of the close proximity they stood next to one another.
"Your grace."
Tywin greeted while Liala staid quiet like the mouse she was dubbed. Cersei was sitting on a small stool beside the throne and she seemed pleased to see the both of them. She looked from her father toward Laila, which in all honesty was her mother, and Cersei's expression never once changed from the stoic look that her father often gave.
"Well, well, well so the rumors are indeed true. Tywin you old dog! You did snatch you up a pretty little young wife didn't you! And the last remaining Reyne no less!"
Robert said as he stood from his throne and waddled down the steps. Laila turned her eyes downward and she gave another small curtsy again.
"Your grace."
She said softly causing Robert to chuckle. He glanced at Tywin.
"Rather quiet like a mouse isn't she? Suppose that's why they say what they say, about how "The cat caught the mouse." Isn't that right Tywin?"
Tywin was quiet for a moment as he examined Robert. He seemed well on his way to being drunk like usual. Clenching his jaw Tywin pushed his teeth around and gave a small shrug.
"I know not what they say, because I'm not concerned with the opinions of -- "
"Of the sheep. Yes, yes, we all know about that don't we!"
Robert cut off Tywin and laughed smacking the man on the back as a pat. Laila's eyes widened as she caught site of the gesture. She had never seen anyone so brave enough as to pat her Lord husband on the back.
Never not once.
"So, you come for a visit. We shall celebrate my first born! Squire!"
Robert shouted as he turned around and a young boy came running. Robert waved his hand around motioning toward Tywin and Liala.
"See to it that they're seen to their room! And make it fast boy! It's time to prepare for celebrations!"
Robert shouted and the people in the court all started clapping for the idea of a grand party to honor Robert's first born. Tywin and Liala gave their bows and followed the squire from the room. It was then when they were out of view and being taken to their room did Laila hear Tywin grumble very low under his breath.
She swallowed anxiously only praying that she was not going to be left alone with a furious Tywin Lannister on her hands this whole visit.
