Significance

Tyrion Lannister opened his eyes slowly. He was somehow still alive after the battle. He didn't understand how he was still alive when he recalled nearly being decapitated only to have his attacker miss and slice him across the face. Attempting to sit up, Tyrion groaned, alerting Pycelle that he had awoken.

"Ah you're awake. It's about time Lord Tyrion."

The old man spoke while looking at the little man. Tyrion winced, his whole face feeling hot and throbbing.

"We won? Either that or I really am dead and this is Hell."

Pycelle scoffed looking to the little Lord. The elder shook his head disgraced that Tyrion would even suggest the notion.

"We won alright. Lord Tywin came to our aid along with Lady Garnet. The two of them -- "

"Wait, did you just say Garnet was here? At the battle?"

Tyrion questioned confused. Surely Pycelle was mistaken? Garnet had been missing for the last eighteen years. Now of all the random times she could have returned back she chose now? Why? Pycelle nodded.

"We could all hear her mighty roar of a Lion all the way from here. That's when most of us knew that she had returned."

"Where is she now?"

Tyrion questioned ignoring the pain he felt in his bandaged face while speaking. The old man looked at Tyrion with a thoughtful expression.

"Well, after your Lord Father was re-named Hand of the King, both of he and Lady Garnet were named Protectors of the City, I believe she has fallen back into her old position as Ward to your Lord Father."

Tyrion's shoulders dropped hearing that. He didn't like it when Garnet had been his father's Ward the first time. He knew that she was bound to him due to the fact that he was the first born - male that is to say - since she had taken her oath to protect the family.

But she was so much different than his father.

He honestly didn't understand how the two got on so well. He knew she was a Wildling and his father Noble. Actually there was a lot that Tyrion didn't understand or know, but he knew that she had returned he had better take this chance now to find out.

Garnet reached out and took the papers that had been signed and sealed from Tywin's desk. The man himself was busy working filling out paper after paper and letter after letter. She looked upon all the work that Tywin was busy doing wondering what it was he was working so hard to do.

"You seem extremely busy. Is there any reason for that or have you always been like this and I've just allowed it to slip my notice?"

Tywin glanced up from his work and paused for a moment. His green golden gaze viewing her own blue golden one. He sighed heavily through his nose and lowered his quill on to the dark mahogany desk.

"I made the mistake of leaving Tyrion in in charge of my position as hand while I was out fighting Joffrey's War. He hardly did any work aside from drinking and bringing a whore into my bed."

Tywin stated causing Garnett to snort. Out of all the children she recalled Tyrion to be the least disciplined when it came to doing what was expected of him. Then Tywin noticed a sly turn of garnets lips and it caused him a rather good amount of curiosity.

With his brow arched and his lips in a straight line he looked at his Ward.

"Has what I said amused you?"

Garnett glanced his way with the same expression still upon her face.

"Yes. I find it amusing that while you sit there and accuse your youngest of bringing whores in to your bed, you yourself have done the same -- "

"You are no whore. And I will not have you patronizing me either."

Tywin ordered with a scarf as he rose from his chair. He went to fill his Empty Glass with wine from the table not far from his desk. Garnet turned her watchful gays from Tywin and back to the letter upon his desk.

It had been addressed to Lord Frey.

She listened as he poured his wine into his cup figuring that the conversation was over she started collecting the letters that had been signed and sealed.

It was her job to deliver them to a raven or a messenger boy, depending on what type of letters they were, but as she stepped away from the desk with the papers in hand Tywin's Stern voice rung out through his office.

"I do not recall dismissing you."

Tywin said coily while one hand was placed behind his back and he held his wine glass in the other. Garnet rolled her eyes with her back to Tywin. Her tone told Tywin that she was smirking.

"I just figured that letters from the hand needed to be delivered in a timely manner."

" that's what are squires are for. To do our lowly tasks so we don't have to do them."

"Am I not as such my lord?"

Garnet couldn't help but tease as she glanced over her shoulder at Tywin.

The man watched her for a moment as she was much more playful than he recalled. Either that or the cold Lord Tywin Lannister had simply been deprived of the joy and playful nature that she had once brought to him and his empty Halls that he had completely forgotten what it was like until now. Tywin walked tall back toward his desk with his glass in hand.

"Your playfulness I'll admit has been sorely missed."

He informed her taking a seat back behind his desk. Taking another sip he looked up at her. He studied the woman noticing that she still adorned that damned Northern wear that was common for most wildlings he'd seen.

"Your awful choice of clothing however I cannot say the same."

Garnet arched eyebrow and checked herself out looking at the fur that draped around her shoulders and the dark blue cloth that she wore. Tywin had not made any comment prior to now so she figured that he was just nitpicking her flaws at this point to make himself seem the superior as always.

"I've taken the liberty of having several dresses handmade for you since you've returned. There's no point in sending for your old ones from Casterly Rock when it is easier and faster to have new ones made."

He crossed his leg over the other and his green golden eyes watched her blue ones.

"I expect you to burn those hideous Rags once they're finished."

Garnet pause for a moment before she nodded and tap her fingers against the desk for a moment. Tywin had let it slip that even after all these years he still kept her old clothing after the fact that he had no idea to when or if she would return.

"As you wish my lord."

Tywin gave a small nod of his head and then lowered his gaze back to his work. Placing his glass down he pulled forth another piece of clean parchment while adjusting himself in his chair back to a straightened position as he started writing with his quill again.

Garnet stayed in the room along with Tywin to stand guard by his desk. Being back to his side it was obvious that he wasn't going to allow the woman out of his sight unless it was for a good reason.

Time slowly crept along as Tywin continue to work. If it was one thing The Old Lion learned it was that time he'll no chains on Garnet like it did the rest of them. She was an ageless prison that was bound to walk the world fraternity unless killed by human hands.

"You should eat something."

Her voice broke through Tywin train of thought but he continued to write.

"These letters need my attention more than my stomach needs food."

He gruft. Garnet rolled her eyes unseen to Tywin. She moved from her post and headed for the door. He glanced up from his work for a moment washing her backside as she reached out for the door knob to open the door.

There were two guards sitting at a table not far from the entrance. When they noticed the door open they Rose to their feet and stood at the ready. Garnet looked at them, her eyes landing on the one to the left.

"Fetch a maid and have her bring Lord Tywin and myself some supper to the Tower of the hand. We shall be dining here tonight."

"Yes mi'lady."

The guard said before she close to the door. However before it closed she caught sight of someone she hadn't expected to see.

"Lady Garnet Donnavan it has been a while."

The unexpected voice calls Tywin to SAI from behind his desk after he heard it. Garnet went and reopened the door while giving the man a large grin.

"Lord Tyrion what a surprise to see you alive."

Tyrion nodded.

"The feeling is mutual my lady. Tell me is my Lord father busy? I'd like to speak with him."
