Night
TW:// panic attack
Cyrus felt trapped. He felt like he was drowning in the overwhelming darkness while the cackling demons got too loud for him to handle. He wanted to close his eyes but that would only bring more darkness and terror. The pitch black pooled around him with deceit. He wanted to scream but was too paralyzed. His whole body went numb and cold as the sweat poured. He wanted to cry but it's like his body stopped working. His tan bedsheet was stained with the salty liquid and it was so strong that he could smell it.
He never thought his fear would get this bad. The nightlight or the moon glow doesn't even help him anymore. It's too much. The feeling of not being able to see even with his eyes open, the hateful silence that jabbed meaningless whispers, the dark. Cyrus hates the dark. He feared what would come without him knowing. The fact that a 3-eyed 6-foot tall green creature or even an axe murderer could be lurking around his bed. He wanted knowledge of his surroundings, not be stuck in the unknown with the anxiety trickling down him like a waterfall.
"Cyrus?" He wanted nothing more than his roommate to forget about his existence. They barely know each other. Classes haven't even started yet but Cyrus showed up to campus a week early. I guess his roommate had the same idea. Him and the blonde's first encounter wasn't the most ideal.
When Cyrus got his boxes out of the car and stacked the two on the top of his velvet suitcase, he couldn't be more nervous and excited at the same time. All this adrenaline pushed him to move, the toothy-grin never once leaving his face. Nothing could break him now. Cyrus Goodman was an unstoppable force. He moved with such confidence through the campus. And then it started to rain, hard. And Cyrus couldn't run with the pounds of luggage behind him.
He moved as fast as he could. He thanked the lord that his dorm was on ground level. He struggled to put the key in the lock. When he pushed the door open, a loud thud was made. Cyrus dropped his suitcase on the floor and walked around the door to find a green-eyed boy holding his forehead and muttering curse words loudly.
"Oh my god, I'm so sorry!" Cyrus tried running over to the boy but ended up slipping in a puddle that he made. He knocked into the boy and let out a soft groan. "Fuck! I'm sorry."
"Don't worry about it." The boy stood up and pulled Cyrus up. "TJ Kippen."
"Cyrus Goodman, your clumsy roommate." Cyrus chuckled and shook TJ's hand.
"I can see that." TJ shot him a glistening grin. Cyrus. Pilsner help but stare at his green eyes. They had a certain shimmer in the them that seemed to just fit. They were the prettiest eyes Cyrus has seen.
"I- uh... I'm g-gonna go, you know,"
"Unpack?" Cyrus nodded and picked up his stuff and ran to the empty bedroom. Then, they never spoke to each other again.
But here they are again. Cyrus can't let TJ find like this. But what was he supposed to do if he couldn't move.
It was already too late when the bedroom door open and TJ was hunched over. His eyes were half closed and he practically radiated tiredness and fatigue.
"Cyrus!" TJ rushed over to the panicking boy. He sat next to him and placed his hands in the smaller boy's shoulder. "It's gonna be ok." He whispered. TJ was stuck in the moment. He can't leave the boy but he has no idea what to do. "Shh, it's ok, just breathe." TJ slowly moved his hand behind Cyrus' head. The soft brunette hair tangled within TJ's fingers. He lifted the boy and shifted him into his lap.
Cyrus felt the change in placement and loved the feeling of his hair being played with. He felt like he could maybe move again. His ice cold fingers reached out for something. A pillow, a small part of his puffy blanket, anything.
TJ noticed his hand moving. He smiled a bit to himself that the boy might be calming down.
"Cyrus, grab my hand. It's ok." He whispered. TJ gravitated his hand towards Cyrus and flinched at the cold contact. He latched his pinkie onto Cyrus'. "It's ok."
"O-ok." Cyrus loves the warm feeling that burst inside him. He grabbed TJ's hand which earned a squeeze.
"I'll stay here for the rest of the night, if you want." Cyrus slightly nodded and cuddled closer into the warmth that was TJ's lap.
"T-that would be nice." TJ took his hand out of Cyrus' hair and pulled him closer. It wasn't too soon where TJ could hear the soft snoring of the boy he was holding. His smile only grew and he laid down and pulled the boy onto his chest.
