13 - Hesitant
Frisk continued walking along. The ghost had dissapeared. She wanted to follow it, but she had no idea where it went.
The eerie silence floated in the air, making the atmosphere even more uncomfortable. Frisk grew uneasy. She arrived at a... Mountain.... Cave... Thing...?
The skies were red, and smoke was filling the air. She could see a dark, ominous castle from afar, but she wasn't so sure if she wanted to go there.
If that's where King Asriel lives....
She doesn't think that their meeting would go very well.
Suddenly, from the very top of the mountain, someone started to speak.
"Murder. Slaughter. Destroy. That's what King Asriel wants us to do to every human that falls down here." A voice exclaimed.
Frisk looked up. Fear was visible in her eyes.
The armored figure looked up, it's left eye flashed a streak of light.
"Do you think I enjoy this....? Do you think I like murdering humans in cold blood...?" The monster looked down at Frisk before jumping and landing in front of her. The ground collided with her metal armor, as a cloud of dust traded her fall. It's right hand was on the ground, as was it's left knee.
Frisk tilted her head, and tried to reach her so she could help her up, but the monster quickly held up a palm as if to say, 'Stop. Don't help me.'
She stood up, looking down.
She paused for a moment, she closed her eyes, before talking again. "You don't know how this feels like." She muttered.
"Forced."
"Threatened."
"Demanded."
Suddenly, she looked up and shot her hand to the right, an electric blue energy spear forming in her fist.
"YOU DON'T KNOW HOW IT FEELS TO BE DEMANDED FROM EVERY SINGLE DAY OF YOUR LIFE WITHOUT EVER HAVING A CHOICE TO REFUSE." She yelled.
The battle started.
Undyne was looking down, symbolizing a creature bowing it's head in shame.
"Y'know... I'm sick of this. If I made the rules, I wouldn't kill you. But I have to." She said before swinging dozens of spears towards Frisk.
Frisk's eyed widened at the upcoming spears, and tried her hardest to dodge. She got hit in the shoulder once, and twice in the leg. She screamed out in pain.
Undyne flinched at her pained yell. Her eyes softened. She really wanted to reach out and help her, but her gaze hardened as her spear glowed a brighter blue.
"I just have to do this quickly, don't I?" She mumbled, Frisk heard her clearly.
She fired more spears, and Frisk dodged them all. She fell on the ground, panting. Undyne winces.
Undyne was silent, before sending more spears. Frisk dodged, ran, jumped, tumbled, but still ended up getting hit. She fell to her knees, panting.
Frisk looked down sadly. "I-I... I just want to save you all...." She mumbled in a sad voice.
Undyne laughed. She laughed humorlessly with tears in her eyes. "Y-you think you can save us? You think you can bring us all out of our misery?! Do you even know who Asriel is, kid?" Undyne choked through her sobs. Tears were streaming down her face, and she didn't even realize it.
Frisk looked up, confused. "N-no..."
"King Asriel is a God. He isn't sime old soft hearted fluffy buns. He's phsycotic. He is murderous. And if you step a foot on his kingdom, he'll... He'll...." Undyne clenched her fist and slammed the ground as she fell. "Dammit. D-dammit!"
"You'll die out there, kid! You'll be murdered! A-and I'm not sure i-if I can stand seeing that again...." She choked.
Frisk's heart broke into two. Undyne, the so called fierce warrior, was now in front of her, crying brokenly. Because she couldn't stand seeing another human die.
Frisk wasn't so sure about that promise anymore...
