I woke up in the night hungry and headed towards the kitchen when I heard a sound.

Scared I slowly moved closer and heard panting followed by gasps and moans.

What was happening?!.

I turned on the kitchen light to find a woman clutched unto Vandel with his lips on hers.

Shocked by the lights coming on, he pried away and his eyes met mine while my mouth was wide open.

Slowly it set into a smirk and he frowned dropping the woman on the counter he headed towards me.

"What are you doing awake this late?" He asked and I couldn't stop myself from smiling.

Yes he wasn't gay

"Couldn't sleep plus I was hungry" I replied.

"Stop smiling like a creep I'm sure there are some snacks" he said and I nodded heading over to the drawers to find the woman flushed on the kitchen counter.

"Hello" I greeted.

"Hi Hayley" she said and I froze.

"How do you know my name?" I asked.

"Vandel didn't tell you?" She asked turning to face Vandel who suddenly went wide-eyed.

"I was part of their group, not exactly part but I was dating one of them" she said and I smiled.

But now she's with Vandel?

"So you knew my dad?" I asked grabbing a bottle of water and handing it over to her which she accepted with a thank you.

"This is an unnecessary discussion Kelly" Vandel groaned.

"No, it's not you never tell me anything" I pout.

"It's for your own good" he sighed.

"Van you didn't tell her anything, she's already twenty she needs to know" the woman named Kelly said.

"I suppose you're right" he groaned and I stood there smiling in awe at Kelly.

I had begged him quite a number of times to tell me but he refused but once Kelly asked him he said yes and I smiled brightly making him narrow his eyes at me.

"I knew your dad Hayley he was amazing though a bit of a sadist" she smiled as if remembering something.

"Your mum was wonderful too quite the opposite of her brother might I add" she said turning to Vandel who gave her a warm smile.

"How?" I asked intrigued and started making a sandwich.

"He was always gloomy and reserved and she was cheerful and outgoing" she laughed.

"So how did you two end up here what happened with the guy you were dating you broke up?" I asked and she smiled a sad one this time.

"He died that night with Xadrian and Luna" she said.

Xadrian and Luna, my dad and mum.

I turned to face Vandel tears welling up in my eyes.

"You told me it was an accident" I accused and he frowned.

"It was Hay I just didn't want you to know how" he sighed.

"How many people died that day?" I asked turning to Kelly.

"A lot from the other gang but only three from ours" she explained.

"What happened?" I asked and she sighed.

"Let's go somewhere more comfortable" she said coming down from the counter and leading me to the couch where we sat down Vandel following suit.

"Your mother came from a previous university, and her ex who was obsessed with her came back for revenge because she left their gang" she started.

"She was already with your dad at this time and of course, Xadrian didn't let her ex take her, a battle broke out and your father, mother and my boyfriend Will gave their lives to save the rest of us but not before killing her ex" Kelly narrated.

"So they were killed by this rival gang?" I asked.

"If they were to know you exist they would come for you" Vandel said.

"That's why I decided to leave you in the dark I don't want you involved with these things.

"We lived in a dangerous world" he said.

"I understand" I said with a nod.

"Your parents were brave Hayley they are the most amazing people I've ever known" she said with a smile which I returned.

I turned to Vandel.

"Is she the one?" I asked and he gave a small smile and nodded.

"This is Kelly my first and only love" he said and Kelly smiled at him which he returned and I couldn't help but smile I had never seen such a genuine sweet expression on his face but it only lasted a second or two before he turned to face me.

"It's nice finally meeting you Hayley" she said with a smile

She was so pretty.

"You too Aunt Kelly" I replied.

"Also thank you for convincing my old man to tell me the truth" I said glaring at Vandel who had a small smile on his face.

"So did you always like Vandel or?" I asked wanting to know how they arrived here.

"I admit I did have a little crush on him back then but I was already with Will and even if I broke up with him I wouldn't date one of his best friends" Kelly said and I nodded.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I totally forgot I interrupted you guys" I said but couldn't hold my giggle and Vandel frowned at me.

"Upstairs now" he ordered and I laughed waving to Kelly before going back to my room.

I sighed and tossed myself on the bed. I knew if I thought more about it I would lose what little self-esteem I had left.
