CHAPTER 21
Theo had begun coming early for classes once again and seemed to be in a brighter mood but neither of us had mentioned the kiss that happened some days ago.
"You keep looking back" Joan noted and I sighed looking away from the back and turning to her.
"Is it okay if I crash at your place today, kind of like a sleepover?" She asked batting her eyelashes.
"I doubt that you're just plotting to get to my dad" I groaned and she sighed
"Well since you already know, can I come over?" She asked.
"No" I declared with a glare and the class began to clear out.
This time I didn't wait to see if Theo would come over to meet me and just left.
Joan said she had something to do in the dorms leaving me alone and I headed towards the library.
The stares had not stopped neither had the glares.
It seemed people actually thought Theo and I were together.
I smiled at the thought recalling the kiss and shook my head to dismiss the image as I sat down and pulled up my laptop.
I had barely gotten any school work and my projects had piled up so I began working on it putting my headphones on to block any distractions.
I set a timer on my phone so I wouldn't spend too much time and forget myself.
......
After about two hours, I packed up and left the library heading towards to dorms not to exactly see Joan but I liked taking a walk around.
I saw a familiar car parked with two figures beside it.
It looked like Theo's car.
I moved closer towards it only to notice it was indeed Theo's car.
I smiled planning to scare him from behind, I began moving towards the car.
As I got closer my smile slowly died out and was replaced with a frown.
The second figure was a girl I wasn't familiar with. He had her pressed against the car placing kisses on her neck and face while she clutched unto his shirt.
I stared shocked and felt a sudden pain in my chest.
It hurt
I mean he had taken the trouble to take me somewhere special for my first kiss, but to find him here caressing another girl.
Well, I had no right to be mad we weren't a thing like most people believed so I guess he wasn't doing anything wrong.
So why did it hurt
Why did tears brim my eyes
Why did I want to kill him?
I moved back running away from the sight. If I stayed there any longer, I would have pulled them apart and pounced on the girl.
After making it a safe distance from the dorms, I took in deep breath looking up to stop the tears from falling.
I expected too much from him.
Why did he take me to such a nice place for a first kiss!
I felt stupid
Was he playing me?
Manipulative bastard.
I couldn't believe I almost fell for him.
I headed home immediately wanting to clear my head.
When I arrived home I found Vandel, Killian, James and Quavo drinking in broad daylight.
"Isn't it too early for alcohol?" I asked and Uncle Killian chuckled.
"This is the best time" he shrugged taking a gulp from his glass. I scoffed heading towards the kitchen when I heard someone knock on the door and looked up to find Vandel.
"You okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine what makes you think I'm not?" I asked rudely.
"You're fuming and being rude, spill it" he said with narrowed eyes.
"It's nothing" I scoffed about to leave the kitchen but he blocked my path.
"Talk to me" he said in a softer tone.
"Vandel be honest. Am I pretty?" I asked and his face was etched in worry.
"Where is this coming from?" He asked with a deep frown.
"Just answer the question" I sighed.
"Pretty doesn't begin to cover it Hayley, you're beautiful, the full package" he said and I laughed at the term he used.
"Theo and I kissed" I informed playing with my fingers before looking up at him.
"And?" He asked not in his usual cheerful voice.
"I found him kissing another girl" I replied and noticed his jaw clench.
"That bastard, stole my baby girl's first kiss and then cheats thinking he can go scot-free?" Vandel seethed heading to the living room fuming.
"We have a boy to deal with" he informed and I rushed to stop him.
"It's fine really" I murmured.
"Not its not" he replied.
"Who we killing?" Quavo asked dropping the glass of wine in his hand.
"No one!" I retorted scared.
"A guy is playing with Hayley's feelings" he informed and they all sat up.
"What's his address?" Killian asked.
"There's no need for that, Vandel please don't do anything" I begged.
"We're only going to rough him up a little, teach him a thing or two about playing with someone's feelings" he said and I sighed.
The doorbell rang and we all looked at it confused.
"I'll go check" Vandel said walking towards the door and I noticed he put on his cheerful smile.
"You have a visitor" he said and Joan walked inside.
"Hey, Hay I...."
She stopped as she took in her environment her jaw dropped as her eyes took in each of the men sitting in the living room.
"Guys this is Joan, Hayley's friend" Vandel introduced.
"What's up" Killian waved. James and Quavo deep the same and she awkwardly waved back.
"We'll be upstairs" I said going to pull Joan before she started drooling.
Once we were in my room she screamed.
"Oh, my God!" She shouted.
"Hayley don't tell me they are all related to you?" She asked beaming.
"They are my dad's best friends" I said and she squealed.
An action she rarely did.
"I have to have one, which one's single?" She asked.
"You're having none Joan they are old enough to be your fathers" I sighed.
"Well they certainly don't look it" She licked her lips tossing herself onto my bed and my phone began ringing pulling it out, I saw it was Theo.
I froze for a moment before declining the call.
"Who's that?" Joan asked.
"No one" I smiled and then the phone began ringing again and I declined.
"So what ideas did you have for the sleepover?" I asked and my phone beeped.
It was a message from Theo.
*Why are you ignoring my calls*
*what's wrong Hay*
*talk to me*
I ignored all his messages placing my phone on silent before turning to face Joan.
