Chapter 5: A Chat in Bed before tomorrow🛏🌙

"My ghost cameeraaaa!"

"Where is the ghost camera?!"

Yuuma zoomed from one spot to another in her dorm, frantically searching for her ghost camera. She never goes anywhere without it when she travels in this world. It was a MUST have item on her items to pack list. "Grim! Did you find it?" She shouted, pausing at the magic mirror in her room, making her walk backward to it.

"Nope!" The fiery feline popped out of the box full of ball pit balls. "Ghosts?" The prefect called for them, staring hard at the mirror.

"Nope!"

"Nothing dearie!"

"Nuh, uh!"

The trio of ghosts all replied, with each of them poking out from the roof one by one. Yuuma leaned her face closer to the mirror to the point that her nose was touching the glass. "Oi! Magic mirror! Have you seen my ghost camera? Mickey?" She asked it, leaning her ear against the glass. The mirror remained silent. The prefect stared at the glass look a like with mild annoyance. "Why don't you work when I need you to?" She questioned it, puffing her cheeks in fustration.

"Yuu! I found it!"

The prefect turned around, seeing Grim wave her camera at her with a large and proud smile. He had found it in a pile of clothes. Yuuma couldn't hold back the laughter at seeing the cat wearing that purple feathered hat from their masquerade adventure. "Thank you, Grim!" She told him, stifling a chuckle as he removed the hat and took the camera. "My most loyal familiar to the rescue." She teased sarcastically, tossing the hat aside while placing the ghost camera on top of her PE clothing, which she was gonna wear tomorrow.

"You're gonna wear that tomorrow?" Grim scoffed mockingly, making the prefect turn to him with an unamused glance. "Sunset Savanna is going to be extremely hot. You've seen Savannaclaw, and we went to the Scalding Sands. I wouldn't be surprised if the climate tomorrow is the same as those two places." She reasoned.

The ghosts nodded in agreement to her explanation. Grim opened his mouth to make a comeback, but after thinking about it, he clamped his mouth shut. "Eh, good point. Rats! Roasted by my minion." He grumbled, crossing his little paws, promoting the prefect to chuckle as she rubbed scratched his ear to comfort him. It earned a purr out of him, so that meant he didn't take it personally.

"Alright, hit the cat bed. We gotta wake up early. And I doubt Leona would be willing to wait for us." She informed him, not wishing to miss this chance. The feline like creature's blue eyes light up, and he gladly hopped into his bed, snuggling into it.

"Goodnight, Yuuma!" One of the ghosts told her fondly before vanishing. "Have fun on the trip!" Another chimed, popping out of her hat before putting it back on her head and flying away. "Bring us some souvenirs, please!" The larger of them request before floating away into the walls. "Goodnight, ghosts!" She waved at them goodbye.

"Snoooore. Tunaaaaaa."💤💤💤

The sweet sounds of goodnight switched to loud snoring and mumbling. Yuuma didn't need to turn around to know that was Grim sleep talking again. Walking over to him, she bent down to run a hand through his soft fur. "You better behave tomorrow." She whispered to him strictly, tapping his nose. A grumble was Grim's response with food in the words as the prefect rolled her eyes at him.

Tap tap tap!

"Hm?" Her eyes went over to her window once a tapping sound hit her ears. Her blue eyes shifted to the window, and she nearly had a heart attack when she found two glowing green eyes. Only when she heard a familair deep chuckle in amusement did she stare back at Leona with annoyance.

Yuuma walked over and opened the glass window up. Her blue eyes tried their hardest to pierce through him with her glare. "Oh, I quiver in fear." He mocked her, finding her attempt adorable.

She rolled her eyes at him, but she stood back so that he could have room to enter the dorm. "I thought you would be asleep. Did you decide that sleeping in my bed would be a better sleeping spot again?" She asked playfully, which seemed like that to her as he already lied down on her bed, nuzzling his head into her pillows.

"Not this time, herbivore. I came to make some things clear before tomorrow's trip." He said, his eyes noy leaving her as she joined his side. Leona was aware of how excited the prefect was to see his home. However, that excitement leads her to trouble, and that was the last thing he wanted in this trip.

"First off, and this is important. I'm not your babysitter." Leona stated firmly, tapping his knuckle against her forehead. "Who do you think I am? Ace and Deuce? Grim?" The prefect shot back boldly, pushing his hand away. Leona chuckled in amusement, earning a snort of laughter from her. They took another glance at each other only to chuckle and giggle even more.

To the prefect, it seemed that she and the lion got closer or at least on better terms since their time together at Savannaclaw when dealing with Azul.

As the prefect relaxed, a thought occurred her from what she said just now. "Hey, you think we might see your nephew Cheka on this trip?" She asked curiously, and the response was Leona making an annoyed groan, turning his back to her.

"Please don't remind me of that possibility. It's bad enough that I can't avoid this stupid festival. The last thing I want is to run into that hairball." Leona grumbled, burying his head deeper into the pillow. "Come on. Something tells me once he learns his favorite uncle is in town..."

"Only uncle." Leona corrected the prefect. "When he finds out, Cheka is going to be all over the savanna looking for you. He's going to be very happy." She noted, actually hoping to see the little cub. Leona seemed to have read her mind because he turned around to face and shot a very stern glare at her. His green eyes narrowed at her, the only thing gleaming in the darkness.

"I know what you are thinking. And let me be clear, you are NOT meeting my family. Not Cheka. Not my brother. No one with the name Kingscholar other than me. Got it?" He stated firmly, hoping he had sent the message clear with how hard he stared at her. With how often the prefect got herself into trouble, plus the stories she told from their trips out of school, he really didn't want her and his family to come into contact with each other

"Eh, no promises. I have a knack for meeting my friends' family members." She warned him casually, though she secretly hoped to meet one of his family members. Specifically, she wanted to meet his brother. While there was a strife between them, she wanted to see if this Falena fitted Leona's own interpretations.

Leona groaned, deciding that the Ramshackle house was not gonna be a good sleeping spot tonight if the prefect was gonna bug him with questions. He sat up, ruffling his hair a bit. His hands settled on the handles of the glass window until a thought crossed his mind.

"Oh. And one more thing." He turned around, making the prefect look up at him curiously. His green eyes were luminous in the dark, being the only source of light as his back blocked the moonlight. Yuuma's blue eyes scanned his face to try and interpret his next response.

Then, the corners of his mouth went up. "Have fun tomorrow for me." He stated before leaving without giving Yuuma a chance to respond.

The prefect did smile, touched to see the side in him that no one else so. She lied back down in bed and shut her eyes. Tonight, dreamland. Tomorrow Sunset Savanna.

To be honest, I wish the events made more use of the ghost camera for the prefect, so I will be bringing up a lot in this fanfic and a lot more in the future.
