Chapter 11: Arriving to the Hotel
While the prefect knew the hotel was gonna be a fancy one, she did NOT expect it to be THIS fancy. Yuuma almost dropped Grim out of her arms from her astonishment of this place. She was so lost in it that Lilia had grabbed her hand and pulled her along with the group so she didn't fall behind.
"This is the hotel where you guys are staying. The Sunset Villa." Leona announced casually. The group immediately dispersed, walking around to explore the room they were staying in.
It was like a more elegant replica of the Savannaclaw lounge. A small waterfall was flowing down into a small pool, formed by rocks. Colorful orange and white curtains, and when you glance up, part of the roof has a zigzag design to it, allowing the sunlight to peek through it.
"Wow! It's super fancy! I want to live here forever!" Grim spoke, jumping onto a table after spotting a plate with some fruits and even cooked meat on it. "It's the number one luxury hotel in this country." Leona added, grinning amusingly at Grim's reaction. As the cat eyed a piece of meat hungrily, Yuuma approached the platter and grabbed a little lychee.
It had two other smaller fruits growing out of it. The shape reminded her of mickey's round face and ears. She chuckled fondly at it, missing that mouse a little. A thought came to her head, and she remembered her ghost camera. Yuuma took it out and snapped a quick picture of it. She smiled, satisfied at it
"You're so weird."
The prefect glanced at Leona, who eyed her strangely. He had seen some pretty strange people back at school, and the prefect had her moments of normal, but here were times she could be strange too. Yuuma stared back at him and grinned widely at him, like the Cheshire cat, Chenya. "You have no idea." She responded, throwing back the words he used the first time they met.
The corners of his mouth did perk into a smile. Not out of amusement. Not out of satisfaction. Just a small, genuine smile. His green eyes were glowing like two jades. She noticed that when Leona was genuinely happy, his eyes would lit up, and in her opinion, she liked that. His eyes always had a unique glow to them.
"Sumptuous! Our patient will be able to lay up in style here." Lilia admired, approaching the wooden railing to get a better look of the view where the prefect and lion were at. Yuu turned around, and her eyes grew huge.
They could see the vast greenery of the savanna and even make out the trees far off. Glancing up at the bright blue sky, Yuuma reckoned this would be a good time to take an actual photo this time.
"Hey guys. Photo?" She suggested, holding her camera up. "Yes!" Lilia and Grim both said as their eyes brightened, instantly at her side as she held the camera up for a selfie. Leona rolled his eyes and tried to slink away, but suddenly, some force looped around his arm and tugged him back.
"Come on, Leona. You're going to miss out on the memories." Lilia insisted, making sure their arms were entangled so the lion wouldn't slip away. Leona sent a green eye glare to the disamonia student, but before he could tell off Lilia...
Snap!
The lion's ears twitched when he heard Yuuma take the picture. He realized too late that she took advantage of his distraction and caught the moment. Lilia and Grim gathered around the prefect to see the picture, which gave Leona the chance to free his arm.
Regardless, he did lean over to take a look. The picture had Lilia, Grim, and Yuuma smiling wide with a glaring lion beastman at the person who pulled him in the photo and the savanna landscape behind them. Leona stared at it unimpressed and rolled his eyes while the others giggled at how silly the photo was.
Vil had been watching in amusement, particularly at Leona. He then heard approaching footsteps and looking behind him."Ah, Kifaji has returned." The model annouced, and all eyes went to the chamberlain. "Allow me to update you. I've escorted Jack to his room and arranged a private doctor and nurse to look after him." The old man informed them all. The news of their friend being cared for brought relief amongst the group.
"Thank you, Kifaji. Really. That was very kind of you." Yuuma praised him gratefully. The old man nodded to her politely. "Nice work." Leona spoke casually, sparing a glance at him before he started walking around the lounge.
"Hey! Don't think you're off the hook. You still need a third player. Plus, it wouldn't be the first time I helped you." Yuuma reminded him, persistent in convincing him to let her join the team. Her blue eyes narrowed at him fiercely, hoping to at least get through to his thick skull. More than once, they worked together to solve something like the Fairy Gala.
However, her eyebrows rose when she realized he seemed to be looking for something or someone "Leona. What are you up to?" She asked, reading his face carefully. "Now then...where'd that guy get to?" He asked, tilting his ears in order to find some sounds of what he was looking for.
The prefect raised an eyebrow, turning to the others to see if they knew something, but they all exchange shrugs and confused looks. "Who?" Vil asked. Then, Leona's ears adjusted themselves to the right and stuck in that direction. To a human, it would be hard to hear. For a beastman, though, his sharp ears can easily catch the faintest sounds.
The corners of his mouth perked up as Yuuma eyed his ears and face. She directed her eyes to where his ears pointed. Sure enough, the rest of the group started to hear quickened footsteps.
"Oh, you're all here!"
"Uh oh."
