Enchanted Trap
Rook jovaly entered Crowley's Office.
"Bonjour Principal Crowley.Vous avez appelé?"
"Yes! I did Mr.Hunt! I would like to ask you a favor!"
"What is it?"
"Well theres been a bear running amuck in the town and as NRC we must keep their favor. You so Happen to be one of the best hunters currently on the island."
"Ah! So You want me to hunt the beast!"
"Yes! Indeed I do! As compensation you shall have your request for persimmon to hunt granted!"
"Ah! C'est magnifique!"
"Now, It has been last seen in the forest west of the Village."
"I shall have this taken care of in two shakes of a tail!"
"I'm sure you will! Good luck on your endeavor!"
"Merci"
Rook left the office and headed toward the Mirror chamber. He entered the Pomefiore Mirror and walked right up to his Room. Looking at his hunting tools he decoded on His magic bow. The one with a Magestone embedded allowing him to cast magic. He set it on his bed along with the arrows before walking to his closet and crabbing his clothes for hunting. They were earth tones allowing easy blending in. He walked back over and grabbed the Items on his bed before turning to the door. Besides it an Harchet sat. Rook looked at it for a few minutes before he grabbed it and its holster securing it in place. HE walked back to the lounge where Vil and Epel now sat.
"Bonjour, Roi des Poison, Monsieur Cherry Apple!"
"Ah, Hello Rook. I Take it your going hunting?"
"Yes! The Headmage asked for me to deal with a bit of a invasive species west to the village."
"Well, Good luck. Do ya have yer phone?"
"Epel Accent."
"Sorry Vil..."
"Non I do not."
"Then you should go grab it, Rook Senpai. You're dealing with that damn bear. What if something happens."
"I appreciate the concern Monsieur Cherry Apple but you Mustn't worry, I'm an experienced hunter! I will be quite alright."
'But Ro-"
"It's fine, Epel."
"Vil-san you can't be serious it's dangerou-"
"That's enough Epel. HAve a good Trip Rook. I have to give him some supplementary lessons it seems."
"I Will! See you later Roi des Poison!"
Rook turned and left the dorm. He got back to the main campus and walked to the front gates before heading down to the Village. As always the streets were desolate but once you got to the town square it was bustling. People of all ethnicities talked in many languages. Rook basked in the sound. It was rather pleasant on his sensitive ears. He walked down the brick roads until he finally met the dirt one of the West forest. He entered.
The path was untouched, untrampled. Rook softly hummed a tune, his eyes scanning the trees. Squirrels hide away. The rabbits ran to their dens, and even the snake's coward. His boots softly crunched against the twigs and the bow swung a bit on his back in a lazy manner. This was perfect and wild. Sometimes he missed Savannah Claw for its freedoms but Pomefiore was more his style. Rook stoped as he heard the loud thump of a heavy foot step. He crouched to the ground and duck walked behind a bush. He Peaked over.
There in the clearing beyond the berry bush there was the bear. It sniffed the carcass of a dear it had just killed. Rook slowly Raised up and pulled out his bow. He notched on an arrow from his quiver and aimed carefully. With a quick spell chant he let it fly.
"Puissance supplémentaire"
As the arrow soared the beast moved. Rook cursed as the Arrow hit its leg. He Knocked another and fired again, this time a head shot. The Dead bear flopped to the ground and Rook steped through the bush to go and retrieve the carcass. He stepped through the tall grass not a car in the world until.
Cling.
"PUTAIN D'ENFER ! MERDE! CONNARD!"
Rook let out a string of profanities. He Glared down before his anger faded to shock and fear.
"Un piège à ours ?"
A Bear Trap? How? Was someone already hunting the creacher? Rook clicked his tongue and reached down to open the trap only to feel a shock and the trap tigtend.
"Is it enchanted."
Rook pulled out his bow and charged it with magic before letting out a disenchantment curse.
It didn't work... The trap absorbed the magic greedily. He tried lifting the foot up. The trap stuck to the ground. The sun was starting to set. He had been walking for quite a long time it seemed. He tried to find something to help as the trap got tighter and tighter. Nothing. His eyes landed on a stick, his clothes, and the hatchet. It was clear that only the enchanter could open the trap. He continued trying till the sky had turned a myriad of hues. He closed his eyes and then shakily opened them.
"That's... The only answer I have. With how this is going this trapp will drain me of my magic and make me bleed out."
Rook Sat down on the ground and unlatched the hatched and grabbed the sick. He took of his belt and bit down on it before he tore off a piece of his clothes and using the stick he made a tourniquet. He tightened it around his shin and knee area before he took and ake and swung down.
"AHHH!"
It was muffled and Rook looked down. There was a large gash. He could see bone. He Closed his eyes as a tear fell before he swung down again. Another scream followed but this time the leg was off. He let the belt drop to the ground as he shifted his body and began to army crawl back to town. Soon he was back on the brick roads and he saw a person. It was dark now.
"AIDE! S'IL TE PLAÎT!"
The person turned and Saw Rook they ran over and Whipped out their phone calling the Sage ISland authorities. The person spoke to him, keeping him up until red and blue lights filled his vision and he woke up in a hospital.
Besides his bed there was Vil and Epel.
"Roi Des Poison? Monsieur Cherry Apple?"
The two stirred from their sleep.
"ROOK! YOUR UP!" Vil hugged him.
"What happened."
"Well You got trapped in a Bear Trap and thought your only answer was to Cut off your leg. Oh wait! It was because you didn't listen to me and didn't bring your phone!"
"I...Apologize Monsieur Cherry Apple."
"GooD! Next time you go hunting you better bring your phone. Someone can't always save you and Vil won't always be there to Consion you and pay for a Prosthetic. Also, Congrats on such a shity operation on yourself that they had to amputate more of your leg!"
Rook lifted his blanket and saw that now his leg up to mid though was gone.
"O-oh. I-ill listen next time...."
"I suppose I will too. I Shouldn't have brushed off your concern, Epel."
"Good! I don't want another person I know to lose a limb to a bear. I already know 2!"
"Wait 2?"
"Yeah! My dad. He was stupid and tried to fight a bear. I Burned the bear to a crisp after it bit off his arm."
"What?"
Both Vil and Rook stared at a pissed off Epel in disbelief.
