*Laurel's P.O.V*
I wake up at - no joke - 7:00am. I stretch and yank off bed, heading to the bathroom. I gather my hair together in a messy bun, brush my teeth and wear the same grey dress from yesterday. So I open the door and silently cross the corridor to get to the stairs. Luke's door is closed, there ain't a single sound in the house other than my steps'.
I go downstairs and walk towards the kitchen. There I open the fridge to check food. To be honest, there's almost nothing inside; it's enough to make omelets, though. I stare at Luke's cooker trying to figure out how it works before looking for a skillet. I whisk the eggs, season them with salt and pepper and wait for the skillet to warm, melting the butter.
"Good morning." I hear a sleepy man's voice behind me. I look over my shoulder and Luke's standing by the doorframe, scratching his eyes. He has no shirt on, only a pair of sweatpants loosely hanging on his hips, showing part of his underwear.
"Good morning" I smile, turning my attention back at the skillet. "Did I wake you up? Sorry!"
"No, it wasn't you, even though I never wake up this early. Actually I was going to make us breakfast. Want help?"
Luke walks towards the fridge and opens it.
"I got this." I respond. "I mean, do you like omelet? It's the only thing I could think of."
"Yeah, it smells wonderful." He chuckles, taking a deep breath. He comes closer, grabs me by the waist and leans down to kiss me on the cheek. However I'm not in the mood for cheek kisses, so I turn my face a little, just enough for him to connect our lips. He's surprised at first but doesn't seem to mind, smirking once he pulls away.
"Today we're going for the tour, yeah?" I break the silence, gently putting the omelet on a plate and handing it to Luke, who's sitting by the counter.
"We are, indeed. I just need to make a phone call and then we go." He says and I nod.
We quickly eat breakfast and Luke tosses the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. We go upstairs and I decide to take a shower. I put on shorts, a Queen shirt and Vans so I'm comfortable during the whole tour. I look at myself in the mirror; my wet hair is terrible. I get out of my room and head to Luke's.
"Hey Luke, do you have any hair dryer you could-"
Luke is facing me, a little embarrassed. On his hands there's his phone, he's FaceTiming someone. A blonde man.
"Oops, sorry. My bad. I'll come back when you're done." I mutter. Feeling my cheeks burning I rush out of his room and back to mine, but stop in the corridor to listen to their conversation. Yeah, I'm nosy.
"Who's that, Lukey?" The man asks. "That's not the girl I remember to be your girlfriend."
"That's not her at all, Ben, we broke up last year, remember?" Luke chuckles, awkwardly. "That's a, uh... A friend. She's visiting LA and she's staying over at my place."
I shake my head and head back to my room. I rub the towel on my hair fast to dry it as much as I can before combing it again. I do some makeup because I have no idea where we are going and when I'm almost done, Luke shows up.
"Sorry" he smiles at me through the mirror. "That was my brother, it's been a long time since I last spoke to him so, yeah."
"That's okay, I should be the apologetic one. I simply came into your room without even knocking, I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry" I blink.
Luke smiles and winks at me.
"No problem. He doesn't mind, neither do I, I don't intend hiding you from people I care about. Oh, you need a hair dryer, right?"
Luke passes it to me and I thank him. About half an hour later we are both ready and Luke takes me to his car. He turns on the engine and pulls out of the garage, quickly taking us to the street. The radio automatically is on and 21 Guns is playing.
"That's one old song." I comment, giggling.
"Old but gold, right?" He smiles, not taking his eyes off the road.
Firstly, Luke takes me to the Hollywood sign. After a moment of freaking out I take about 10 pictures of the landscape and then I pull him closer for a selfie.
"Smile, you've got beautiful teeth." I tell him and he chuckles. I use this moment to take the picture and he frowns.
"Hey! I wasn't ready!"
"Don't worry, you look great on it. Now, take a picture of me." I hurriedly hand him my phone and strike a pose next to the sign. He quickly takes the picture and then we head to Hall of Fame. We take a few pictures with his phone and a some minutes later fans stop by to talk to Luke. I keep my distance, watching them. The girls ask to take a picture with him, but find it difficult to fit them all on the selfie.
"I can take it for you, if you want." I smile at the girl holding the phone. She looks at her friends, and after a couple seconds she shrugs.
"Sure, why not. Thanks."
The girl hands me her phone and I take three pictures.
"See if they're good." I tell them. They nod and thank me once again, smiling this time. When they're gone, Luke wraps his arm around my neck.
"That was so sweet of you." He compliments.
"What? Taking a picture? Come on." I roll my eyes, looking up at him.
"I found it cute, may I?"
I giggle and nod.
We stop at Starbucks by lunchtime because I'm dying for a latte. Luke rolls his eyes but agrees. He parks in front of it and for a moment I feel like we're being followed. I quickly look around but see no one. Luke calls me and I let it go.
"To be honest, you're the first Laurel I've ever met." He chuckles when I get my latte. I needed to spell my name so the guy could understand what it is.
I roll my eyes, letting out a frustrated sigh laughing.
"I already suspected so. Even though there's a character in Arrow, I guess. Who names their daughter Laurel?" I wrinkle my nose.
"Was it because of a meaning or something?"
"Actually, yeah."
We sit on a table and Luke takes the first sip of his drink; I do the same.
"My mother's pregnancy was troubled, she had two miscarriages before me. In Ancient Rome they used to place a wreath of laurels in victors' heads. My name is literally an evergreen tree that means victory and success."
I smile at him, embarrassed, and he beams.
"And there are two ways to pronounce it." I say. "My dad calls me Lore-el."
"When we met you said Law-rel" Luke furrows his eyebrows. "I can't believe I've been saying it wrong all this time!"
I laugh at his concern and gently caress his hand.
"The perks of being called Laurel. You can either call me Lore-el or Law-rel. I prefer the second option, though. Some people hear Gloria when I say lore-el." I frown and Luke laughs, watching me. Then I ask him about the meaning of his name.
"I guess it's 'light' or something like that." He shrugs. "Not that I know if my parents thought of the meaning."
"Even if they didn't, it suits you perfectly, I mean..." I look down, blushing. "You certainly light up things, light up lives. You help many people, even though you might not always be aware of that."
When I look up at Luke he's staring at me, his eyes gazing into mine. Suddenly he cracks the biggest smile I've ever seen on his face.
"That was the nicest thing I've heard in months." He tells me, with his gaze still locked on mine.
Luke takes me to his favorite spots in LA. Fans often show up, but it's not like I mind; actually I find it incredible that people appreciate Luke's job. I do.
By the end of the day I'm more than tired. Our last spot is Griffith Park. Luke parks his car in a higher ground with some others. We hop out and I get mesmerized. The view is the most beautiful I've ever seen. It's getting dark and the lights of the city are starting to pop up.
"It's beautiful." I sigh, smiling.
"Saved the best for the end." Luke replies, stopping by my side.
When I look up at Luke he's already staring at me. The corners of his mouth curve into a smile and he turns his gaze to the landscape.
"I often come here when I need to think about something or... Someone." He almost whispers the last word. I feel my heart pounding so fast I'm scared he might hear it.
Luke grabs my hand and gently guides me towards the car. He yanks up to the car hood and I do the same, carefully so I don't scratch it or whatever.
He opens his arm and I lean against his chest, cuddling. I wrap my arm around his waist, my head resting on his chest, listening to his heartbeat, so steady, so peaceful, makes me feel safe.
For quite some time we say nothing, simply enjoy the view, the atmosphere. I look to the sides and see some couples around us.
"This is such a place for lovebirds." I mock, but then I regret it. I look up at Luke and he's staring down at me, his eyebrows raised.
"Are you saying that we are a couple, lore-el?"
I gulp, not sure of what to say. Thank goodness it's already dark, otherwise he'd see my cheeks are as red as a tomato right now.
"I uh, no, I was just-" I stutter. He smirks and pulls up my chin to connect our lips.
"That's a good way of shutting someone up, don't you think?" I joke and he bites his lip ring.
"100% agreed."
We make out on top of his car for God knows how long, and when we're both out of breath Luke squeezes my bare thigh.
"How about we go back home?" He asks me with a naughty smile.
Feeling the butterflies in my stomach, I smirk.
"That's a good idea."
