*Luke's P.O.V*

"Tomorrow we are definitely hanging out, Laurel!" Michael hugs Laurel tight when he comes picking me up. "Where do you suggest us to go?"

"I'm not quite sure yet," she chuckles. "but I'm gonna think about something and then I'll let you know."

Michael opens the door and hops in the driver seat, while I keep my hands in my pockets moving my weight from one foot to the other, standing in front of Laurel.

"Well I guess I'll see you tomorrow?" I smirk. She grabs one of my hands and clasp mine together with hers, a soft smile curving the corners of her mouth.

"Yeah. Thanks for stopping by, I had an amazing time today." She comes closer. I open my arms to give her a hug, gently rubbing her back.

"Believe me, it was equally amazing to me." I lean back to watch her face. When her hazel eyes meet mine she chuckles, embarrassed, so I lean down and place a soft kiss on her lips before walking around the car and opening the passenger seat door.

"Drive safe, Michael" Laurel tells him.

"Certainly, miss" He winks at her and pulls away. I watch as her figure becomes smaller and smaller as we take distance.

"She's got something" Michael speaks out of the blue.

"I know, right?" I reply, chuckling.

"Let's just hope nobody followed me and took pictures, you know."

"Don't you even dare thinking about it" I sigh. "Everything is going perfectly fine so far, I can't believe paps will ruin everything on the last days."

"You're being discreet, Luke, then I doubt it. Still, it's good to keep on being cautious."

We arrive at the mall and A is waiting with a lot of bags. When she spots the car she waves at us and we pull over.

"Did you buy the entire place or?" Michael mocks and A rolls her eyes.

"I bought enough. Lukey, here's your shirt." A hands me a bag of a brand I'd never heard of before. When I open it there's a black shirt inside. I unfold it and in its front it's written You Complete Me, double s in the end, making it Mess. It's cool.

"Thanks, I love it" I wink at her and she squeezes my shoulder. "So, are you guys hungry? We can stop somewhere to eat."

"I'm in!" Michael raises his hand and we drive downtown.

*Laurel's P.O.V*

"Laurel, I miss you! Haven't talked to you the whole week!" Megan mourns through the phone.

"I miss you too, Meg!" I say, unable to hold back the huge smile in my face due to my most recent visitor. I'm glad she can't see it, though. "Luke and Michael are around so I'm with them all my free time. Actually, I didn't even thank you!"

"Thank me for what?" She chortles.

"For giving my address to Luke. I love you for that, truly. You have no idea how incredible this week has been." I sigh, remembering about this afternoon.

Megan remains silent for a moment and then suddenly she lets out a loud scream.

"LAUREL." She gasps. "THERE IS SOMETHING GOING ON BETWEEN YOU AND LUKE, IS THERE NOT?"

"What?" I awkwardly laugh, feeling my heart beating faster. "You're crazy. How's Tyler, by the way?"

"Don't you dare trying to change the subject." She scolds. "Are you home?"

"Yeah, I-"

"Great. I'm going there now."

"But, Meg-"

She hangs up. I throw myself on my bed bouncing, and breathe deeply. Then I crackle.

"What the fuck?" Laugh. "What just happened?" Laugh. "What the hell am I going to tell Megan?" More laughter.

Ten minutes later someone furiously knocks on my door and when I open it, Megan gets inside my apartment like a lighting.

"I'm not leaving until you tell me the truth." She crosses her arms, glowering at me.

I glance at both sides trying to escape; there's no way. So I close the door and sigh.

"You gotta promise me you won't tell a soul." I say.

"You're my best friend. Nobody will know unless you want them to."

I stare at her for a few seconds and I shake my head groaning, grabbing her forearm and taking her to my room. There I tell her everything: how I met him, how I truly got the tickets to that concert; my daily chats with Luke for an entire month, our FaceTime calls, deep conversations and last but not least, our make out sessions.

When I'm finished I clench my eyes, waiting for her screams, but they never come. So I open only one eye to glance at Megan, and her jaw is dropped, she's looking at some fixed spot behind me.

"Hello...?" I hum. "Won't you say anything?"

"What is there left to be said, Laurel?" She snaps, standing up and walking around my room. "How didn't I realize it sooner? Cake&Coffee never gives prizes to its costumers! And the way you talked to Luke when we went to the dressing room, like you already knew him... I'm so stupid!" She slaps her own forehead. "Why didn't you tell me? Don't you trust me?"

"I wanted to tell you!" I stand up and grab her hands. "But Luke didn't want anybody to know about our encounter, nor had I got his number and we were talking! I'm sorry, Meg..."

Megan gazed into my eyes and her expression smoothes. She lolls her head to the side and cracks a small smile.

"It's okay... I understand. Sorry I overreacted. How are you guys now?"

"Well, he left about two hours ago." I sit on my bed and massage my temples. "He's probably banging A right now."

"The bitchy ex?" Megan raises her eyebrows. "Why is she even here?"

"Luke says he lost a bet and was forced to bring her. Truth be said: she hates me."

"And we hate her too." Megan jokes and I giggle.

"I wouldn't say I hate her... Okay, I despise her."

"Do you think Luke is still in love with her?"

"To be honest, I don't know... He refuses to leave her behind, but... The way he kissed me was just so... Intense, I guess. Nobody had ever kissed me that way before."

"Not even Austin?"

I groan, hiding my face with my hands.

"Don't even talk about him, Meg. I don't know what to do!" I sigh.

"Well, first you need to get your feelings together. If what you feel for Luke is big then you need to dump Austin. But if it isn't... You know he's crazy about you."

"I know, and he's a sweetheart. I don't want to hurt him!"

"Either you or him will end up hurt, baby." Megan sits by my side, rubbing my back. "It's important for you not to feel pushed in any way."

"I'm not feeling pushed, it's just that I really don't know what's going on. I feel something so huge for Luke it even hurts sometimes, but there's A... And besides, let's not forget he's famous. He lives in LA, how will I be able to see him when he's literally in the opposite side of the country?"

"If both of you want this, you'll figure out." She smiles severally. "Why don't you wait for time to tell?"

I look at her and feel relieved to finally talk to someone about it. I quickly wrap my arms around her and hug her tight.

"Thanks for always being here, Meg." I whisper. "I genuinely love you."

"My dearest friend, I love you too. I'll always be by your side, okay?" She pushes one of my hair strands behind my ear. "Who knew, uh? You are making out with, dramatic pause, fucking Luke Hemmings!!!!! Is he a good kisser?"

"A marvelous one." I blush and she laughs. "Please Meg, you can't tell anyone. And now I want to know about Tyler!"

"Oh, Tyler?" She rolls her eyes. "That day when we went to the club he puked on me!"

I twist my nose, disgusted.

"Ew."

"I know, ew. I don't even know why I didn't tell you that before. So I had to take a cab to go home because Tyler was too drunk to drive and so was I. The next day he knocked at my door and brought me a bouquet with a 'sorry' card on it. So he took me out to dinner and we've been seeing each other every day since!"

"This is so cute!" I applause, amused. "You two look amazing together."

"Thanks." She winks. "Tyler tells me everything Austin says about you... I guess he's really into you, Laurel, you're not just some chick he wants to fuck."

"Don't say that" I mutter, blushing. "You're not making things any easier."

"I'm just being honest with you, Laurel." She frowns.

"I don't think I need this sort of honesty right now. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do about him."

Megan's phone rings and she stands up.

"Just follow your heart, okay? I gotta go, problems with my partner and our presentation for Monday." Megan hugs me and heads to the door. "No one will know about what you told me, don't worry. Call me if you need anything."

When she leaves I grab my phone to text Luke.

I miss yooooou

A second after I press send, my phone rings.

"Hey Riley!" I greet. "How are you?"

"Laurel, the drugs!" Riley fires, cheered up. "The drugs we were testing, they worked!"

"What?!" I question in disbelief, covering my mouth with my free hand. "Riley, is this a joke?"

"Hell no, Laurel! Do you know what this means?"

"We are one step closer to curing Alzheimer's!" I scream, kicking the air. "Oh my God, this is unbelievable!!"

"I know right?! I'm almost sure the guys from San Francisco will soon invite you to take our experiment there!"

"Do you think so?"

"I know so! You must sign up for the scholarship, like, now."

I hang up and go to UCSF's website to sign up for the project. I'm not sure about when the result is out, but if I do get this chance, I'm fucking moving to San Francisco and I'm working at one of the most well-known labs in the world.

And I'm also gonna be closer to LA.

My phone buzzes and I unlock it.

I miss u too ! cant wait to see u tomorrow tbh 😉

Wear swimsuits cause tomorrow we're visiting lake Norman!

                               •••

I'm getting dressed and setting everything up when Austin arrives at my place.

"Where are you going?" He asks me, narrowing his eyebrows.

"Lake Norman. Today is the boys' last day here." I respond, tugging my hairbrush and clean clothes inside my bag.

"Oh. I was going to suggest we do something today." He shrugs. "Perhaps I could go with you guys?"

I stop for a moment. I can't believe he's inviting himself. Denying it would be extremely rude, but Austin wasn't expected to go with us.

But that bitch is going, isn't she? And she's certainly making out with Luke in front of me.

"That's an incredible idea, Austin!" I beam. "Go get your swimsuit, I'll wait for you here."

When they park the car in front of my building Luke has a huge smile on his face... Until he sees Austin.

"Austin! Hey! I'm so happy that you're here!" A cheers, kissing Austin's cheek.

"What is he doing here?" Luke whispers at me and I frown.

"He showed up, I couldn't decline." I lie.

"Austin, my man!" Michael greets him. "The day just got automatically more interesting." Call me crazy, but I swear I saw Michael glancing at Luke and grinning.

When we get to lake Norman A directly takes off her clothes, showing off her red bikini. As much as I hate to admit it, she's too hot. Ugh, why can't I ever deny chocolate?

Luke takes his shirt and I can't help but staring shamelessly at his bare chest. He's not fit as Austin but it doesn't stop my legs from shaking. He then looks at me and catches me staring.

Shit.

I quickly look away, feeling my cheeks burning and I hear him laughing. Now it's Michael's turn to take off his shirt followed by tan and fit Austin. And now I'm staring at him. Gosh, his abs. He also catches me staring but I'm not exactly ashamed. I chuckle and he smirks, coming closer. So he unexpectedly pulls me in for a kiss and I can't escape from it. When he pulls away I quickly turn to Luke. His gaze meets mine and he looks away, his features twisted on a disgusted expression. I feel embarrassed, my heart is beating faster. I then look at Michael and he's trying so hard not to laugh; for some reason I still don't know, watching him so relaxed made me chill as well. I ignore Luke's reaction and take off my clothes, showing my finest black bikini. I know he's staring, I can feel his eyes on me; like Austin's and even Michael's.

"We can rent a boat" I suggest, breaking the silence. "Does anybody know how to sail?"

"I do" Austin smiles.

"You're gonna teach me, bro!" Michael tells him and they go away to rent the boat, leaving me with Luke and A. She walks towards Luke and wraps her hands around his neck. His hands go hesitantly to her waist and she kisses him deep, making sure I'm watching. I roll my eyes and look away, feeling my heart aching in my chest. I knew this would happen, why does it feel like I had no idea though?

Austin and Michael come back and call us to get to the boat. The two of them stay together while Austin tries to teach Michael how to sail, while A sprawls out on the floor to tan. I simply sit down and cross my legs, admiring the view. Luke sits in the opposite side of the boat, glancing at me. And a certain moment I huff and stand up, heading towards him.

"Beautiful day today, isn't it?" I nudge him and he lifts up his sunglasses to look at me.

"It definitely is" He checks me out and I punch his chest, awkwardly giggling.

"You're an asshole." I joke.

"I'm the asshole?" He scoffs. "I guess that's actually your boyfriend over there."

"What is the attitude for, Luke?" I roll my eyes, shaking my head on A's direction. "You seem to enjoy tasting your lover's lips too."

"You started it."

"I can't believe you're saying that. He kissed me."

"She kissed me!" He's now facing me without his sunglasses. "He wasn't even supposed to be here Laurel."

"Yeah, because I appreciate A's presence very much!" I mock.

Luke huffs and puts on his sunglasses once more.

"I don't want to ruin our last day together with a stupid argument" I say, wrapping my arm around his and discreetly kissing his shoulder, causing him to shiver. "Let's just forget about it, what do you think?"

Luke stares at me for some moments and at last, nods, smiling fondly at me.

"I'm gonna miss you."

•••

"I can't believe you're already leaving." I tell Michael and Luke at the airport. I hug them tight, like I was holding on for dear life.

"I'll miss you, nerdy! We're still playing video games together" Michael tickles me and I hug him again.

"Please don't forget about me" I mourn, kissing his cheek.

"Never."

So I turn to Luke. He's staring at his feet, unsure of his actions.

"I wish we could keep on meeting." I tell him, gently scratching my nape. "I really like um... What we have. Whatever that is."

"Your words are my words" He sadly smiles at me. "But don't worry, we're meeting up again soon, I promise."

So I hug him tight and he kisses the top of my head.

I look at A and she's scrolling down her phone. She doesn't deserve my attention but I'm not going to be the bitch.

"Have a safe flight" I tell her, forcing a smile. She glances at me and sighs.

"Thanks. You take care here as well."

So I watch as the three of them vanish into the airport, and when I'm about to leave a group of paparazzi stops me.

"Who are you?" One asks, taking a picture.

"How do you know Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford and A?" Another one fires.

"Are you Michael's girlfriend?" A third one speaks up.

They're taking so many pictures I'm scared, so I rush to get out of the airport and hurriedly get inside a cab.

"Get me out of here. Now." I tell the driver, and so he pulls away and the car burns out.

Were they chasing after us the whole week?
