A few days later, you were invited to a "Coming Back Party". "I wonder how many of these they've had..." You ponder while walking to Peach's castle the next day. "Probably like a hundred... Heh." You joke. As the Castle comes into view, you contain your laughter and walk up the trail; Only, it wasn't a trail, it was a red carpet with balloons lining the sides.

You get to the door and realize all the lights are off in the castle. "Weird..." You say to yourself. You read the neatly written note that says "Just open the door and come in!". You look up at the huge doors that were at least three times your size skeptically. "How could I pull open these huge doors?" You second-guess yourself. "Well, it's worth a try..." You encourage. "Wait, aren't the Mario Brothers supposed to come with me?" You ask yourself.

You wait for the Mario Brothers, knowing this. After a moment or two, Luigi comes down the carpet as well. "Hey Luigi!" You greet. "Hey (Y/N)!" He greets back. "W-Where's Mario?" You question. "Oh, he's a bit late-" "I-I'm coming!!" Mario shouts, dashing from behind, slipping on the slippery red carpet. You and Luigi try to contain your laughter as he gets up. "Yeah, yeah, just open the doors already!" He raises his voice. You look at the ginormous doors again and take a deep breath while planting your hands on each of the doorknobs.

You yank on the surprisingly light doors and they fly open. A wave of Toads rush out and mob you, raising you three above their heads. "W-Woah!!" You exclaim. "For Toads, these little guys a pretty strong..." You think. You look over at the Mario Brothers, who look completely surprised. "This must be new for them..." You assume. The Toad wave deposits you in front of Peach and Toadsworth, who put party hats on the three of your heads. Then, Peach stars handing newly cut pieces of the gigantic cake she made. "There's probably enough for everyone on this planet!" You exclaim.

"Heh heh!" Toadsworth chuckles. "Well, I made an extra special cake for your arrival! I hope you like it!" Peach giggles. "Are you kidding me? I love it!" You compliment. "So do I!" Luigi agrees. "Me foo!" Mario says with his mouth full, spitting cake crumbs on the floor. You four laugh at him and make him smile in embarrassment.

Suddenly, panic spreads through the crowd like a wave. You and Luigi push through the crowd while Mario chokes from the shock of the screaming. As soon as you two get to the scene, you both gasp in horror.

Three Toads were passed out on the floor!

"W-What happened?" You demand. "ThEy w-were eatIng th-thEir c-c-cake, and then they stArted g-getting really c-c-crazY, and then p-p-p-passed oUt!!!" One toad explains with a voice so wobbly, stuttery and creaky that you could barely understand them in their panic. "oh, they probably just had a sugar high!" You conclude. The commotion dies down instantly hearing this.

"R-Really" "Is he serious?" "So they're ok?" You hear murmurs throughout the crowd. "Yeah! They'll probably wake up soon!" Luigi assures.

"Oh, thank goodness!" "They're all right!" "I thought something bad happened!" "They had me scared for a second!" "Phew, close call!" You hear sighs and murmurs of relief.

The fainted Toads were taken to the infirmary, and soon the party was back in full swing. Even Mario was having a good time, shoving pieces of cake in your and Luigi's face while you two did the same. Pretty soon, the party was over and it was the evening, the cue for everybody to go home.

While you were walking in the forest, you see a Goomba and a Koopa. You duck behind a bush and listen to their conversation.

"You spike the cake with that sleeping powder?" The Koopa asked. "Yeah." The Goomba answered. "And you didn't spike the new human's piece?" The Koopa asks. "No." The Goomba answers. "Good, although I don't know what Bowser wants with him..." The Koopa wonders mostly to himself. "King Bowser said that he could be useful..." The Goomba explains. "And if he isn't, he'll get thrown in the dungeon!" It finishes. "Yeah... Anyways, let's go, Gary." The Koopa says. "Ok, Kooper." Gary follows Kooper, and soon they're out of sight.

"Wierd... Does he want me? Why would he want me? I guess because I foiled his plans right as he almost won..." You ponder aloud. You walk back to the base camp that you've been setting up for the past few days.

You lie down, your mind racking through all the reasons why you could be useful. You soon fall into a troubled sleep.

You wake up the next morning a bit earlier than you usually did; The sun hasn't risen yet. You decide to get up anyways, and this time, you decide to walk to Bowser's Castle for some reason.

"Maybe I can get some info on what Bowser's plans are, and warn Peach!" You conclude. You break into a sprint so that you could reach there in time before anything happens.

After about ten minutes, you reach Bowser's Castle. You sneak around the back again and use the secret hatch. Then you crawl around in the tunnel system until Bowser's and Kamek's voice comes into earshot.

"So, are all the troops ready for the plan?" Bowser asks. "Yes, sire, we will attack in an hour." Kamek replies. "Good." Bowser replies sinisterly.

Hearing this, you crawl your way out of the tunnel system as quickly as you could, and dashed back toward the Mushroom Kingdom as quickly but quietly as you could.

As soon as you reach the kingdom, you yank on the doors, but they wouldn't budge. "Locked..." You say aloud. Then, you spot an open window and clamber inside. As soon as you did, you felt a sharp object prick the back of your neck. "Who are you, and why are you here?" The Toad guard demands. "It's me, (Y/N), and I really need to talk to Peach!" You explain. "Oh, why?" The Toad guard asks, lowering his spear. "I'll tell you later!" You say as you dash to Peach's room. You knock lightly, and someone says, "Come in." You enter her room, close, and lock the door behind you.

"Why are you here so early this morning?" Peach asks. "Well, don't panic, but..." You trail off. "But?" Peach asks. "Bowser's launching an attack in about forty-five minutes." You say. "Oh my..."

She gets up and starts pacing around the room. "How'd you figure out?" She asks, still pacing. "I snuck in and listened in on their plans." You explain. "Also, apparently Bowser wants me..." You continue. "And one more thing, remember yesterdays party?" You ask. "Yeah... What about it?" She answers. "Well, the cake was spiked." You explain. "With what?" She pries. "Just sleeping powder. But they didn't spike my piece..." You continue. "Oh, that's why I feel so tired..." She says. "Yeah... I'll go warn the Mario Brothers." You say. "Ok." She says simply, and you make your way to their house.

As soon as you get there, you see both of them sleeping still. You open the surprisingly unlocked door and walk inside. You see a clock that reads "6:30". "So they'll attack at about seven." You think. You shake Luigi to wake him up. He only groans and turns over. You plant your hands on him and shake him as hard as you can. Then he woke up. "(Y-Y/N)? Why are you here?" He asks, and at the sound of Luigi's voice, Mario wakes up.

"Good, now that both of you are awake..." You say. "Bowser's attacking the Mushroom Kingdom in half an hour!" You explain. "Oh..." They both say, obviously still half asleep.

"Wait, WHAT!?" They yell, realizing what you just said. They were wide awake now. "We have to go, now!" Mario yells. "Yeah! C'mon, let's go!!!" Luigi screams. They dash to go change while you wait outside, and they were ready five minutes later. You three dash at a Breakneck Blitz towards the castle yet again.

You reach the castle in about ten minutes, marking 6:45. Bursting through the door, you three say the warning. Only to figure out that all of the toad guards were asleep except for one. "W-What happened??" Luigi asks the remaining guard. "I-I don't know! They all were really sleepy, and then one by one just started falling asleep!" He explains. "Oh, by the way, guys?" You say. "What?" Mario asks. "The cake at yesterdays party was spiked with sleeping power, except for my piece. Which also explains why the other Toads probably fainted." You explain. "Oh." The Toad says. "Why aren't you asleep, then?" Mario asks. "I felt really tired this morning, so I had like, seven cups of coffee!" Toad explains. "Geez, seven? That's a lot." You say. "I know, but I don't even feel hyper or anything. Just normal." He explains.

Suddenly, Luigi perks up. "Yeah, Luigi?" You ask. "Hey, what if I use my Thunderhand to wake them all up?" He suggests. "Good idea!" You agree. Luigi proceeds to shock all the Toads, and then they're all awake in about five minutes.

"Good, now everybody listen up!" You shout. "Bowser and his troops will attack in 10 minutes! Get Ready!!!" Hearing this, the Toads panic and get into position in five minutes. Then after waiting a while, you all hear the whooshing of airship blades; They were coming.

As the Airships got closer and closer, you got an idea. "Maybe if all of the Toads stacked up high enough, a few of them could board the Airships and turn them around!" But when you turn around, you see all the Toads, one by one, start to fall asleep again.

"HEY GUYS, BOWSER'S COMING!" You yell as loud as you can. But they were all asleep again.

It was up to you, Luigi, and Mario.
