Walking through town from the train station, Twilight pointed at different places in town where ponies commonly go to, and then she had to go and help Pinkie Pie with the party. Applejack lead the newcomers to Sweet Apple Acres to show them around.

"This is one of the biggest apple orchards in all of Equestria!" She said. Edd stared in awe at the sight. Matt tried flying upward to grab an apple from a tree, but failing, because he didn't know how to fly. Tom pawed at the ground impatiently like an elderly horse with a stomach ache.

Applejack trotted down the hill and to a barn where there were three other ponies. One of them was a light green elderly pony, another was a small young pony with lemon colored fur and cherry mane with a pink bow. The other was a bulky and red stallion with a harness. The old pony caught the attention of Edd and asked Applejack, "well, did you make some new friends?"

"Yup!" Applejack replied. The old pony slowly and shakily walked up to Edd and his friends. She rubbed her chin with her hoof as she looked at the three strangers. "Y'all ain't from around here, are ya?" She guessed.

"Uh, no," Edd answered, slightly cringing from the old pony's strangely high pitched voice. Applejack cleared her throat before introducing, "family, these are our new friends, Edd, Tom, and Matt. New ponies, Granny Smith, Big Macintosh, and Apple Bloom."

"Howdy!" Apple Bloom greeted.

"Eeyup," Big Macintosh said.

"Mah pleasure," Granny Smith said, grinning. Edd grinned curiously. Maybe Matt was kinda right. Some of these ponies are cute. The small filly, Apple Bloom, trotted up to him, asking, "just curious. How did you get yer Cutie Mark?" Edd stared in confusion.

"...a Cutie Mark?" Edd echoed.

Applejack leaned over to him and whispered, "she's asking what your Cutie Mark means."

"What's a Cutie Mark?" Edd whispered back.

"It's like a little symbol on your flank that shows what your talent is."

"Oh," Edd looked behind him, finding that he did indeed have a Cutie Mark. It looked like his stylus for his drawing tablet on his really cool computer. It looked like the stylus had that cool Pen Pressure feature to it. He looked back at the young filly, answering, "uh, I've been drawing lots of pictures...?" Apple Bloom eyes his Cutie Mark curiously, then guessed, "so, is it a pencil or somethin'?

"Uh, close. It's actually a stylus for a drawing tablet, which you plug into a computer.".

"Whoa!" Apple Bloom breathed, "ya mean like those rich artists who use advanced tech to draw art? Rarity once told me and mah friends about them in Manehattan!"

"...I guess? Where we come from, there's lots of technology," Edd explained. He didn't know what Manehattan was, but it sounded a lot like the city of Manhattan, which was a really busy place. At least there was some connection between in real life and Equestria.

"Hey, Applejack! Pinkie Pie has her party ready!" Edd recognized Rainbow Dash calling from the clear skies.

"Already? In how many minutes? Five?" Applejack called back, "darn, Pinkie Pie sure is quick about gettin' things done, ain't she?" She looked back at Edd and said, "come on, we're headed to Twilight's castle!"

"Princess Twilight has a castle, too? Are we going back to that place where the other princess is?"

"Naw, Princess Twilight has a castle here. It ain't too far off. Now, c'mon, let's go! Fun awaits!" Applejack said. Matt happily followed with a very irregular trot. Edd shrugged and decided to follow them. Tom scowled as if he still weren't used to it. But who know? It could be fun, right?
