Chapter 2: What is this place filled with so many wonders!?
Edd didn't know how he got here. He was just watching TV and having some cola without a care in the world, and then, a flash of white, and he was here! Was this a castle? Who brought him here? He stood up, then, with a jolt of realization, couldn't feel his arms. He looked down, seeing a pair of soft hooves in front of him. Wait, WHAT? He lifted one hoof, realizing that was his HAND! He gasped. How could things get more surprising?
He heard familiar internal squealing. He turned around to see what looked like two horses. One was gray, the other was ginger with wings. Edd's throat went dry, and his knees almost buckled. "...Tom? Matt!?" He breathed. The two horses looked towards him, and yelped in unison. Edd let out a squeal in reply. His knees buckled, and he barely caught himself before he could faceplant on the cold floors that appeared to be marble.
Okay, yeah. That's surprising! My friends and I are ponies! How can this get any WORSE? He heard an amused chuckle, along with a laugh. Looking to his left, Edd saw seven pastel colorful ponies. Two also had wings, pegasus, Edd thought. Two others were plain ponies, one of them had a horn, which was apparently a unicorn, and two of them had horns and wings, except one of them was taller. Edd could have sworn the world blurred for a second.
He knew this place before, didn't he?
"Oh, no. We're stuck with these excuses for animals!?" Tom yelled as he realized he was being watched by the ponies.
"What the Hell happened to me!? What the Hell is this place?" Matt whimpered, pulling at his hair and flaring wings in alarm. He pointed at the ponies, screaming, "WHO THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS!?"
"Don't be alarmed," the tall pony said. Her calm voice brought down Edd's guard slightly, "I am Princess Celestia, princess of the Sun. Welcome to Equestria, newcomers." Tom calmed down slightly and made a snide remark, "yeah, and I'm princess Pink Sparkly Shine, princess of rainbows. Can we go home now?" The smaller pony with horn and wings, who was a lavender purple, giggled, then greeted, "I'm Princess Twilight Sparkle, princess of Friendship." She bowed her head respectfully to Edd. Matt chuckled slightly.
Yeah, Edd agreed, knowing what his friend was thinking, Princess of Friendship does sound pretty stupid. But this is Friendship is Magic, right?
"I know it may sound dumb to you, but trust me, friends are important in life," Princess Twilight said, still grinning, "oh, right! Speaking of which, those are my friends!" She pointed to a light blue pegasus with colorful rainbow mane and tail, "this is Rainbow Dash. One of the fastest fliers and loyalest in all of Equestria!"
"'Sup!" Rainbow Dash said, crossing her arms and smirking. Her voice was raspy and gruff, but she did sound and look pretty cool.
"That's Pinkie Pie, proud party planner and very giggly," Twilight pointed at a hot pink horse with darker pink mane and tail.
"Hahahaha! Hi! Nice to meet you three!" Pinkie laughed.
"There's also Applejack,"
"Howdy!" An orange mare with golden ponytail mane and cowboy hat greeted.
"Rarity,"
"Pleasure to meet you!" Said a white unicorn with dazzling purple mane and tail and brilliant blue eyes.
"And Fluttershy," Twilight finished. But this Fluttershy pony was nowhere to be found. "Oh, come on, Fluttershy! It's not like they're 'meanies' or anything," Pinkie Pie encouraged, looking at a strange, snake-like creature, with multiple animal parts. "Oh, and that's Discord, spirit of Chaos and quite the obnoxious one," Twilight added. Discord waved with the paw of a lion, then gave a small chortle. Behind him was a butterscotch-yellow pegasus with light pink mane. Maybe that's Fluttershy, Edd thought. Before he could say anything, his ginger friend walked up to Fluttershy, interest sparked in the eyes of that narcissist. Edd watched curiously as his friend helped the timid pony back onto her hooves. Then, after a small handshake, or is it hoofshake, the two joined the colorful bunch of horses. "Um... hello, I'm Fluttershy," the shy pony greeted, not looking at Edd in the eye. 'Well, I can see why her name's that. She's timid as an old dog, yet gentle like a butterfly,' Edd thought, noticing the butterfly picture on her rump. Thinking about it, Edd didn't know what that picture was. All the ponies each had a marking of their own. Rainbow Dash had a colorful lightning bolt, Pinkie Pie had balloons, Rarity had diamonds, Applejack had apples, of course, and Princess Twilight had a pink star with five white stars surrounding it. Did Edd have a certain marking like those? Maybe it was his face, or a pencil, or a computer, or anything else he liked. He was curious about this place and the people inhabiting it.
"So, yeah. You've met us," Rainbow Dash said, "what are you names?"
"Oh, right. I'm Edd," Edd introduced, "and those are Tom and Matt, my friends." Tom pinned his ears back. Cleary he wasn't in the mood for making new friends. "Yeah nice to meet you--CAN WE GO HOME FOR GOD'S SAKE!?" He yelled. Matt shrunk back in surprise. Even Princess Twilight flinched.
"Come on, Tom. I could get used to it. These ponies are pretty cute," Matt commented after straightening himself up. He leaned over to Edd and whispered, "seriously. Especially Fluttershee. She's as adorable as shit!"
Ooooookay, Edd thought in reply.
"TWILIGHT!" Pinkie Pie screamed, a giant, excited and kinda creepy smile almost obscuring her bright pink cheeks,"can we PLEASE go to Ponyville now so we can get their 'Welcome to Ponyville' party ready!?" Twilight, who jumped at the sudden outburst, sighed, " yes, Pinkie. We can go now."
"Yay!" The magic pink horse replied, and hopped outside the castle. Twilight soon followed, calling to everyone, "come on, we should be getting home, too. We need to show... Edd and his friends around." Their names would need some getting used to.
Everyone arrived at the train station. When they boarded on the train, Twilight and her friends began asking questions about where Edd came from:
"What's it like?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"...almost as sunny as here, but to me it's almost too sunny right now," Edd replied.
"What kind of food do you have there?" Applejack asked. According to the orange mare's name, she made food that consists of apples.
'Ooh, how do I say this?' Edd asked himself. Normally he liked bacon, but since ponies were herbivores... "I like bacon," Edd answered, "ever heard of it?" Applejack cocked a brow, then, in realization, gasped, "Ya don't mean..."
"Yeah, I know. But where we come from, my friends and I aren't ponies, so..."
"Ah, I see."
"But, I also like pasta,"
"...pasta?"
Pinkie bounced around in circles, ignoring the fact that the train was moving. "Do you guys like cake? Because I have a very special surprise for you three!" She stopped bouncing, then sucked in a deep, breath, then continued on, "I wonder if you even know what surprises are! If ya don't, they're basically sudden events that happen when you wouldn't expect them to happen and you receive a little shock from it! Like when I first met Twilight! She was all like, 'hello,' and than I was all, *GAAAAAAAASP!* I never expected a new pony to come to Ponyville! I know everypony in Ponyville, but I definitely never knew her before, so I decided to throw her a party and help her make new friends..." Matt covered his large horsey ears, and Tom yelled, "oh my God, shut up already!" Pinkie stopped bouncing in midair fo glare at the grumpy grey, then landed and giggled, "okay. I guess you get the point!" Matt sighed in relief, Tom still wasn't too happy, and Edd replied, "uhhh... sure. We like cake." Tom glared at him angrily. Edd shrugged. He was starting to get used to it, but what about his friends? Oh well, they could probably get used to it, too.
