Taehyung stares at his phone when he sees the message. He can't believe that Jimin actually texted him first. A part of him was very happy that his friend approached him and asked him how he was doing but the other part thought that if Jimin could text him, he could have done it too.

But the good thing is that someone texted and Taehyung is glad about it. He immediately starts typing a reply.

Taehyung keeps his phone aside. He feels happy. Just a couple of messages from his best friend have made him feel good. He decides that it's enough and he will fix things with Jimin tomorrow.

"Taehyung!" He hears his mom's voice from the kitchen. She walks in the living room with a some freshly baked cookies that he likes a lot.

"How's your ankle, honey?" His mother asks. His parents were supposed to go on another mission but they decided to take an off for a week so that they could spend some quality time with their sons. It turned out to be a good idea that they stayed as Taehyung hurt himself and they would be worried a lot about him if they were not home.

"I won't say I'm all better because it still hurts, mom." Taehyung says, munching on his cookies. His mother smiles at him and sits beside him. "You'll be fine." She says hugging her son and Taehyung loves this feeling. He has missed out on life a lot and he has been very sad for the past six years. The only thing that brought him happiness was his family. He is very attached to his family.

"What are you two doing?" They break apart when Taehyung's father enters the living room and sits next to Taehyung.

"Just having a mother-son bonding time." His mother replies.

"I hope you didn't share any secrets with your mom and hyung before telling me, Taehyung-ah." His dad says, making him roll his eyes.

"I don't have any secrets, dad." He says but then his mind wanders off to Jungkook. A smile spreads across his lips which doesn't go unnoticed by his parents.

"I know there's definitely something, son." His dad says.

"What? No. Why do you think like that?" Taehyung asks, his cheeks turning pink, he doesn't even know why.

"Well, you're blushing young man." His father laughs.

"Stop teasing our son. He is so young for all this." His mom says to her husband.

"Stop treating him like a child. He is nineteen. He needs to explore himself and the world." His dad says making Taehyung nod. Yes, he wants to do all that.

"I know but he will always be my little baby. I could hardly be there for him when he needed me the most and I hate myself for it." His mother's eyes start watering. Taehyung turns sad too. After all he missed all those precious years of his life because of some stupid politics.

"I sometimes wish we didn't have this kind of a job. Because of this, my little baby had to-" His mom continues.

"No, mom." Taehyung immediately interrupts her, "Stop blaming yourself or your job because of what happened to me. It's not your fault. Or anyone else's for that matter. It was just... my fate, maybe?"

"But Taehyung-"

"It's fine, mom." They hear Jin's voice. He just got back from his interview a while ago and he witnessed an emotional scene in front of him. "If we keep on discussing this, it will make Taehyung sad. We don't want him sad. He is here now and we are together. That's the most important thing."

"Jin is right." Their father says, "We need to move on from the past if we want our son to move on too."

The woman nods. She looks at her younger son who has teary eyes too, but he forces a smile for her. He raises his hand and wipes away her tears, making her smile softly. She hugs him and Taehyung embraces his mother's warmth. The scene makes Jin and his father emotional too, and they join the mother-son duo for a family hug.

"Wait a minute, so what you're saying is that the guy who was supposedly dead six years ago isn't actually dead?" Hoseok asks, looking very confused.

"But are you sure, Jungkook? I mean his death was all over the news." Namjoon says. The three friends are currently sitting in Jungkook's studio. The youngest of the three just shared his worries and suspicions with his hyungs and now the boys don't know how to feel about this new information.

"But hyung, I went to his home and I saw his photo. When I asked his brother about it, he told me that he is Taehyung." Jungkook argues.

"So let's get this straight. The guy you met when you were kidnapped was Taehyung?" Hoseok asks. When Jungkook nods, he continues, "But after a week of your kidnapping, you were saved but he wasn't?" Jungkook shook his head. Tears form in his eyes when the horrible memories from his past flash across his mind.

"N-Nobody knew that there was another kid who got k-kidnapped." Jungkook says in a low voice, trying to control his tears from falling and voice from trembling. "Or maybe the government knew, I don't know. When I was saved, there were so many reporters who wanted to interview me and ask me questions. When I told them there was another kid, that's when they started talking about him. Nobody talked about him before me. There was a lot of politics involved."

"Kook are you-" Namjoon gets cut off when Jungkook says, "I did a lot of research on this case, hyung. I did it before I met Taehyung in university. I feel so guilty that I was saved and he wasn't. I remember people beating him, hyung. He was just a little boy back then. Those people from the gang h-had beaten him up so badly. They even used a rod to h-hit him. You know why? Just because he asked for some food or because he would cry in pain."

Jungkook starts sobbing hard, "They gave me food thrice a day but only once to him... you know what, hyung? They kind of treated me better than Taehyung. You know why?" Both Namjoon and Hoseok shake their head so Jungkook continues, "They treated me better because my dad is the biggest business tycoon in Korea. They needed to get some money or business out of him. But Taehyung, he was treated badly because his parents work for the government. I researched about it and found out that his father is a high ranking military officer and my guess is he was treated badly because the government was trying to catch the gang. His father was the in charge of that case. They didn't give him food, they beat him up and they did so many horrible things to torture him... and he was so small, hyung. He was there before me. He told me he had been there for two weeks already before I came. I felt so bad, hyung. I felt bad when I had to see those horrible things happening to him. He would pass out for hours and I didn't know what to do. I often shared some of my food with him. Oh my God, hyung, he didn't deserve it."

Jungkook was crying. He felt like he couldn't breathe. He already felt bad for Taehyung because while he was saved because his father had the money and resources to save him, Taehyung wasn't saved. Jungkook was exchanged for money and some deal while Taehyung was left all alone in hell. Jungkook and his father got a lot of sympathy from the public which in turn helped in their business later while nobody knew what happened to Taehyung.

Jungkook had told the world about Taehyung being kidnapped but he always wondered why didn't anyone put efforts in finding him sooner. Four months after Jungkook was saved, the world came to know that the gang was caught but they couldn't save the little boy.

"Jungkook, you spent a week with Taehyung six years ago but didn't you know his name at least?" Namjoon asks.

"I asked. He never told me. He had trust issues, hyung. He talked very less. It was me who did the talking most of the time so I could make him feel a little better. I always wanted him to smile because all he did was cry." Jungkook says wiping his tears.

"So what are you going to do now, Kook?" Hoseok asks taking his friend in a side hug.

"I'm going to do everything to make it up to him, hyung. I'm going to make him happy. I'm going to do everything so that he feels loved. He didn't deserve whatever happened to him in the past. I'll give him what he deserves." Jungkook says, his voice filled with determination. Hoseok and Namjoon look at each other and exchange knowing smiles.

Hi guys! Tbh I had a hard time writing this chapter. I wrote it and deleted it twice and I still think that this chapter is all over the place. It is also kinda messy but I really had to talk about their past. If there's something you don't understand from this chapter, feel free to ask me.
