He shouldn't get involved. 

He told himself that over and over again on the way home. 

And yet his mind was working in overdrive, coming up with ideas. Ideas that were crazy. He was insane. Truly insane. 

He walked into his house, finding Sunghoon lying on the couch, eating popcorn as he watched a drama on tv. 

"I'm back," Heeseung said meekly, throwing himself into the armchair. 

"NO!" Sunghoon shouted, jumping up and grabbing at his hair as he stared at the tv, which was playing the ending OST of the episode. Popcorn spilled everywhere on the floor, and Sunghoon stood in front of the TV, staring at it in shock. "Are you kidding me?" he complained loudly. "How can they end it there?"

Heeseung couldn't even find the energy to respond, and after a moment Sunghoon turned off the TV and faced him. 

"What's wrong?" 

"Nothing," Heeseung muttered, shaking his head. 

"Something's wrong. Tell me. Maybe I can help." 

"No," Heeseung said firmly. "What I'm thinking... is dangerous. It's crazy. Absolutely crazy, and it could get me in big trouble. If I tell you... then you might get in trouble too. And I'm not dragging you down with me." 

"What... what are you talking about?" Sunghoon whispered, his voice worried now. 

Saving Kim Hana.

But he didn't say it aloud. 

His head was telling him, over and over again, that he shouldn't get involved. His job was simply to collect souls. 

This was why grim reapers gave off a cold, scary vibe. This is why people generally didn't get close to them. 

He wasn't supposed to get attached to anyone. He was just supposed to collect their souls and send them on their way, on their journey. 

He didn't want her to die. 

His heart broke at the thought of it. He hadn't felt pain in, well, forever. His memories from his past life were gone, and as a grim reaper, he couldn't get hurt or feel pain. 

But his heart did hurt now, a physical pain that made it hard to breathe. 

It was his heart that convinced him to ignore everything his head was trying to tell him, and to just save Hana.
