—START SYNOPSIS

COUSINS HAD always been home to Sonia (Sonny), ever since she was little. Running down the stairs with the boys, going on their stupid fishing trips just to prove that she could fish too that just because she was girl didn't mean that she wasn't allowed to have fun fishing, even though she hated it.

Sonny slowly stopped going to the fishing trips when her point was made. She started spending more time with Belly. They became something like sisters.

Cousin was always the same. Nothing was ever different. And that's why she loved it so much. The sand on her bed that never seemed to go away, even after cleaning the sheets, she loved the surfing, and of course the people.

Laurel, Belly, Steven, Jeremiah, Susannah... and Conrad.

She and Conrad were only two months apart, he has always given her shit for it too, but when worst came to worst, she would brag about all the things she was that he wasn't. That always seemed to shut him up, not because everything she said was true—well maybe a little of it was—but because he liked the way she looked when she glared at him as if she was going to kill him with her own two eyes. The way her eyebrows would nearly touch.

But nothing... or no one ever stays the same, including Sonny and Conrad, not when they have lost, and will lose so much more than they ever thought possible.

roll the credits... i do not own the summer i turned pretty or it's characters and plot. i do however own sonia (sonny), and kendric (kenny), and the rodriguez/alvarez family. and the plot-line that surrounds sonny, her relationships, and her family. any similarities to other works is completely and a hundred percent coincidental :)

this will be based off both the books and the tv show series <3

i will also like to say that this fanfic does talk about real issues that surrounds latines/hispanics. some might know what i'm talking about, others might not, i don't want to say too much without giving stuff away. if you don't like reading things with real life issues and what might people face on a daily, then this fanfic is not for you. some might also find this topic dark because it does talk about discrimination and such. read with caution.
