At Metha house.
Avni was sleeping hugging duvet close to her body. The sun peeped through the window making avni stir in sleep and snuggled into her duvet more.. avni covered her face under the duvet as the sun brightness fell on her face..

After 10 minutes later avni opens her eyes and peeped out of the duvet.. she looks around her room and saw her curtains open.... she sighed and sat on bed.. she picks her phone from  table and saw the time.. she saw message from vidyut.. she didn't open them but kept her phone side..

She got down the down and walks to her closet.. she opens the closet and took her towel and clothes.. she was going to close the door when her eyes fell on the box which Meher gave her.. her eyes starts brimming with fresh tears.. she immediately close the door and rushed to washroom...

Avni freshening up comes out and moves to dressing table.. she ruffles her hair and brushed hair lightly.. she then took cream and applied it on her face.. she walks back to her bed and sat down gazing her phone..

As she gazing her phone she suddenly heard her phone ringing.. suddenly ring made her startled.. she almost got scared but composing herself she picks the phone and saw caller Id..

She didn't realise how long she stared her phone screen and was crying seeing the caller name... she felt her heart beating faster.. Avni took deep breath and answered the call..

Avni: he....ll...o..

She stammering herself controlling her emotions..

Caller : come to police station ...

She heard from other side.. avni before could speak she heard phone being hang.. she closed eyes and let tear rolled down her cheeks..

After few minutes She kept the phone on bed and walks back to her closet and took her police uniform.. she comes to bed and starts getting ready while being lost in deep thoughts...

Avni got ready and taking her phone left her room.. she walks down the stairs looking down and being lost herself... she stopped near Neela and calls her..

Avni : maa..

Neela who was talking with dayavnti look at Avni and saw her ready..

Neela : bacha.. are you going to police station?

Avni : yes maa.. I'll be late..

Neela : before moving to work have breakfast.. come I'll serve you.. maa we will continue our talking later..

She spoke last sentence looking at dayavanti who nodded her head.. Neela stood up to leave but stopped hearing Avni's  voice..

Neela looks at avni..

Avni : maa.. please.. I'm not hungry.. don't stress yourself.. please continue your conversation with Dadi..I'll leave now..

Avni not giving any opportunity Neela not to speak left from there.. as she left neela and dayavnti shared look.. Neela sat down and looks at dayavnti..

Neela : maa.. why is this happening with our children only?

Dayavnti: Neela everything will be okay.. have faith on their love..

Neela : but maa.. both are hurting each other.. we have to do something.. i can't see Avni like this... week later she went to work.. this is first from last week she has stepped out of her room..

Dayavnti: we should khanna family too.. I'm sure over there same thing is happening.. I know our children won't move on this easily.. we have to make them understand.. both have to understand each other's point..both of them have made mistake.. call khanna in the afternoon and tell them not inform Meher or Neil about this..

Neela : okay maa..

At police station..

Avni walks inside the police station.. everyone saw and greeting her but Avni went straight to her cabin and sat down.. she didn't see anyone expect darkness and silent front of her eyes..

Avni leaned back of her chair and rested her head while she heard suhneria voice.. she straightened herself and looks at suhneria.

Suhneria: good morning ma'am..

Avni nodded her head and looks at suhneria for further information..

Suhneria: Neil sir and commissioner sir is calling you in Neil's sir cabin..

Avni  composed herself hearing Neil's name and nodded her head once again looking at suhneria..

Avni got up and took her things and walked with suhneria to Neil's cabin.. she knocks the door and enters once she heard Neil's voice 'come in'..

Avni along with suhneria enters and saw commissioner sir , dd and Neil there.. Neil and commissioner sir was discussing something while dd was standing there.. to get their attention avni called ...

Avni : sir..

Both men's looks at avni as they heard her voice..

Com:  good morning officer..

Avni : good morning sir..

She didn't look at Neil nor he did... both avoid each other presence..

Com : avni sorry to call today as I know you are on holiday but this is important..

Avni : it's okay sir.. what's important you want to discus?

Com : yes.. Neil would you explain avni the matter as you're aware of it..

Neil : sure sir..

Com : I should leave now.. and yes I'll meet you both in 3 hours to see what's the progress of your cases..

AvNeil: yes sir..

As they both spoke together both looked at each other and stared but immediately turned their gaze and looked down.. commissioner sir left whereas Neil stood up from his chair and looks at dd and suhneria..

Neil : could you both give us some privacy..

Dd and suhneria nodded their head and left leaving AvNeil alone in the cabin. Neil looks at Avni who was looking down and fiddling with her finger..

Neil clears his throat making her look at him.. both shared eye lock but Neil immediately broke it and sat down..

Neil : could you please have seat..

Avni sat down and looks at down making Neil sigh..

Neil : I didn't knew ACP avni Metha looks down while working.. could you please mind shifting your personal life side and focus on professional.. please.. I wouldn't you appreciate if you are not focus and I'm sure you won't like it this way too.. I mean.. ACP Metha  who is sincerely at work now is looking down because of some personal issue. Keep your personal side and focus on work and don't forget you're my boss not employer of mine that you should look down when I'm talking to you..

His words immediately broke her heart.. she immediately composing herself looks at him and saw him.  Their eyes met.. Neil diverted his  gaze and starts explaining avni the matters..

Half an hour later Neil finished explaining avni and saw dd coming with his phone.. he looks at him..

Neil : dd who is it?

Dd : sorry sir.. but someone unknown number is calling you continuously..

Neil : didn't you pick the call?

Dd : I did sir but she said she wants to talk to you..

Neil : give me the phone.. I'll talk to her..

Dd nodded his head and left while avni mind was stuck on 'she'..she kept thinking who could she be.. Her thoughts were disturbed by Neil.. she looks at Neil..

Neil : you can leave now as your work is over..

Avni  simply got up and left his cabin..

After three days..

Elders was sitting in Metha house...

Swetha : where is avni?

Neela : she is  in her room..I'll call her..

Swetha nodded her head while Neela went up to call avni down..

While inside Avni's room..

Avni was laying down on her back and stared at the ceiling and recalling  Neil's outburst.. as she recalled his words tears rolled down her cheeks.. she immediately sat up and wiped her tears as she heard knock..

Avni :  come in..door is open..

She looks the door and saw Neela coming in..

Neela : bacha come down.. how long you will stay in your room?

Avni : maa.. please don't start again..

Neela : I won't start again but don't you think trapping yourself with walls in your room helps you to forget whatever happened... if you love Neil then why don't you tell him...

Avni : maa.. please.. he has already moved on.. don't talk about him..

Neela : forget that.. I came here to call you down..

Avni : down? Who came?

Neela : khanna family.. they came to see you.. please come down.. and yes I have tell you something you too..

Avni curiously looks at Neela..

Avni : maa I don't want to meet anyone.. I'm fine being here in my room.. I'm sorry being rude but i can't face them... I can't hurt them.

Neela : avni you're hurting them by not meeting them.. please for me come down..

Avni: hmm.. I'm coming down...

Neela : come...

Avni : I'll come in few minutes..

Neela nodded and left the room while avni went to washroom and washed her face with cold water.. she wiped her face with towel and moves out of her room..

She come down and saw elders sitting down and talking.. she thanked got not seeing Meher or Neil there with them.. she walks to them and sat next to Neela..

Everyone noticed avni but didn't say anything as they were still discussing something...

Avni silently sat there when door bell rang... Neela looks at avni..

Neela : avni could see who is at the door.

Avni bobbed her her head and moved to door while elders smiled at each other....

Avni opens the door and got shocked seeing Neil in police uniform.. she shockingly stared him.. she didn't expected him to be here.. same with Neil.. even he was staring her.. both kept looking at each other until a voice from behind him made both come out of tranche and looked away.. avni looked behind and saw her age girl coming while talking on her phone.. avni stared her then saw Neil looking at her..

Avni moved side and let him in.. he walked inside the house followed by the girl.. avni stood at the door and stared them walking behind each other.. she closed her eyes and took deep breath..

Avni composing herself walks to hall and saw them sitting together and talking to elders.. she felt her heart breaking seeing them talking and sitting together.. she took opposite them and noticed how close both of them was sitting.. she also noticed how their shoulder was touching..

Avni looked away and heard swetha...

Swetha: tillu.. what took you so long?

Neil looks at his mother..

Neil: sorry mom.. actually I was busy then I got this madam call to pick her up.. because of her I got late to reach here..

The girl looks at Neil and punched his arms lightly..

Girl : what did you say? You got late because of me.. why don't you say truth? Aunty actually Neil took me to restaurant as I was very hungry.. sorry we got late..

Swetha : it's okay beta.. I hope you both had good time.. after years later you both met..

Girl : yes aunty.. we had great time. Right Neil..

Neil : yes mom.. we did.

Everyone smiled at them expect one who was trying hard to breakdown front of them.. who else could it be none than avni..call it jealousy.. she was jealous of that girl who she doesn't even know what relation she share with Neil..
She can't see anyone other girl with Neil.. her nose was turning in red colour seeing them together and laughing..

Avni excused herself from there and went to kitchen.. she filled glass of water and drank it in one go.. she kept the glass down and held it tightly in her fist.. her mind replayed Neil laughing and talking to that girl.. her grip on glass become more tighter.. in next second the glass broke into  zillion piece.. she didn't winch in pain as the glass piece pricked her skin.. she was strong herself to bear the physical pain.. that pain was nothing front of her heart which was breaking every second thinking Neil found someone better than her..her heart broke mere thinking about it.. she didn't even realise her hans was bleeding...

She came back to earth hearing giggle behind her.. she turns back and saw Neil and that girl giggling on something.. avni immediately bend down and picks the broken glass before they could see her.. she carefully picked them and threw it in the bin and stood up and got shocked seeing both them standing front her.. avni seeing them immediately hid her hand back and looks at them nervously...

Avni : what.. are you doing here?

Neil: why you stammering? I mean.. you stammering like I have caught you red handed... what are you hiding?

Avni ignored his question and looks at the girl who was looking at avni with smile which made avni confuse..

Avni: do you need something ?

Neil : no.. I was showing her around when we heard something breaking.. so we came to see.. what fell down?

Avni : spoon slipped from my hand.. that's it..

Neil : oh okay..

He then looks at the girl and held her hand..

Neil : let's go..

before the girl could say something Neil dragged her out of the kitchen leaving avni in tears.. avni wiping her tears and walks out of kitchen while hiding her hand behind her back..

She comes to hall and saw elders only.. she didn't see Neil or that girl.. Avni sat next Neela and looked  around when she heard Neela saying something which took Avni's breath away..

Neela: swetha.. don't they look perfect with each other.:

Neela said eying at Neil and her who was coming down the stairs..avni looks at them and saw them.. avni immediately turned her gaze and looked down..

Neil and her came to them and sat down..

Neela : as Neil is here.. I have to you all something...

Elders was aware of what Neela will say expect Avni, Neil and that girl...

Neil: what is it aunty?

Neela looks at Neil then at avni who was looking at Neela with curious eye...

Before Neela could continue they heard phone ringing..

girl : sorry.. I have to take this call..

Neil : no problem.. go take call..

The girl smiled at Neil went..

Neil : aunty please continue what you was going to say?

Neela : Neil avni we all know that you both want to move on from each other.. right..

Neil : yes aunty I said that but why are you reminding us now?

Neela : I'm not reminding you both but telling you both that you both have decided to move on.. so us.. as in elders have decided something for you both..

Avni : maa.. before you continue.. can I say something?

Neela : yes you can..

Avni : if you're thinking about my marriage.. then let me tell you last time.. I'm not getting married to anyone.. I'm fine being single..

Neela : avni.. stop right now.. I won't listen to your excuse.. you are gout to marry guy chosen by us.. why don't you want to get married.. you want to move on from Neil then why don't you marry someone else's..

Avni : maa.. don't.. why can't you understand I don't want to marry anyone..

Neela was losing herself and was going to lash at avni but before that Neil interrupted them..

Neil : aunty... please calm down... we can talk calmly...

Neela : Neil you tell am I wrong? You both want move on then what's the problem getting married to someone ...

Neil : aunty.. marrying someone is not wrong.. but this too early..

Swetha : Neil it's not early.. we have seen respective partners for you both.. we will give you much time as you both need but you have to get married to someone or try to solve your problems and marry each other...choice is yours... marry each other or get married to boy/ girl we have chosen for you both..

This shocked both of them.. avni immediately stood to and ran to her room while Neil watched avni running and looks at elders being disappointed with them.. he shook his head and stood up and left the house while elders looks at each other...

Hello.. sorry about not giving update on Sunday.. I think taking 4 days off was needed for me to take break from writing..
