Chapter 6
~Suko's POV~
Once the twins headed off to school, Suko and another maid, Fuani. They were now near the bedrooms, she was currently polishing the wood of a desk out in the hall, in between two doors, one opened to the twin's room, and the other, Suko didn't know who's room it was.
"Is this the guest room?" She asked, looking at the door.
Fuani looked at the door, a hint of sadness in her eyes. "No, it isn't. It actually belonged to the twin's little sister, Akaila."
"Belonged? What happened, if you don't mind me asking."
Fuani stopped cleaning the window and looked at Suko. "She's not here anymore. It was tragic. She and the twins and her were walking home from the store when she was hit by a drunk driver, she died instantly." Her voice was soft, low. "The twins used to be so happy, in fact, I could barely walk through these halls without running into one of their little pranks." She let out a small chuckle, but it was gone as soon as it came. "The twins changed the most, they went from their usual prankster selves to how you see them today. They were there when their sister was killed, I think they seem to blame the accident on themselves."
"That's horrible..." Suko looked at Fuani. "How long ago did this happen?"
"Last year, a couple weeks from now we'll be having the anniversary of her death. We're done here for now." Fuani walked down the hallway, leaving Suko alone, she took this chance to pull out her phone, pulling up Kyoya's contact.
Suko: I may have something. Apparently they were there when their little sister died.
Of course Suko knew that the twin's little sister had died, she had done some research on the family and knew pretty much almost everything about them. She knew that the parents owned a large media company, they practically owned all media. She knew that the little sister was hit by a black van, but she didn't know that the twins witnessed the death. It's terrible that the two seemed to blame themselves. Her phone buzzed and she looked at the screen.
Kyoya: Good. That may lead to something. Keep searching and report when you've found anything more.
Suko: Of course.
She closed her phone and went back downstairs.
~Haruhi's POV~
During lunch, Haruhi was sitting with the rest of the host club in music room #3. They had called a lunch meeting, to talk about Kyoya's plan.
"I have already sent an undercover officer to the house. She's young, but she is experienced when it comes to these types of things. She's been sending status reports via text." He held up his phone. "So far, all we know is that the twins were witness to their little sister's death."
Haruhi looked at Kyoya with wide eyes. "They had a little sister?" She asked, shocked.
"Yeah." Hikaru muttered.
"She was hit by a car a year ago. It really hit the twins hard." Tamaki said, his tone serious with a hint of pity. "I noticed them change, even though I wasn't in their class. How could anyone not notice?"
Haruhi looked at her hands that were resting in her lap. "What were they like before... You know."
Hikaru and Kaoru looked at each other. "They're pretty much the complete opposite from us." Hikaru said.
"What do you mean by that?" Haruhi asked.
"Well, before their sister died, they were major pranksters. Even worse than us." Hikaru told her.
"Yeah. They once pranked us so bad that our hair was green for a week." Kaoru laughed a bit, covering his mouth, then his face grew serious. "It's strange. The accident happened the day Tamaki confronted us about starting the host club, the day we changed for the better, they changed for the worse."
"So, they weren't always this anti-social?" Haruhi asked.
Tamaki shook his head. "I actually tried to get them to join the host club along with them." He looked around at the guys around him, "I thought that two sets of twins might be nice for the club to have, Arita could of been the waitress, or maybe a hostess if she were up to it, and Kaida could of hosted alongside us. I had it all planned out. Of course, Hikaru and Kaoru were the only ones I planned to have the brotherly love act, I was thinking that Kaida could be the straight up prankster type, and if Arita had chosen to become a hostess, she would of been the Cute but deadly type." He let out a sigh. "The girls did fawn over Kaida before he changed."
"Arita was no shy girl either, if you can remember." Hikaru pointed out.
"That's right!" Honey exclaimed. "Boys would confess to Ari-chan almost every other day!"
"Woah!" Haruhi shouted out, shocked. "Are you serious? They were popular?! I hardly even noticed them when I arrived!"
The hosts looked at her.
"Of course." Hikaru said.
"Their expressions weren't always dead. Their eyes used to be so full of life." Honey said, his tone was different than usual, serious, sad. He looked at Mori. "They used to prank the teachers too, remember."
"Yeah." Mori agreed.
Haruhi sweat dropped. "Really?" She asked, a bit skeptical.
"Honey's right." Tamaki said. "Of course they did get in trouble. Some of their pranks were a bit... Extreme."
"Wow." Haruhi said, awestruck and pretty much speechless.
"Everyone misses the old Sukejuro twins." The twins said together.
"That's why I'm so determined to find out what's happening with them." Tamaki said. "And once we find out, we'll do everything we can to fix it."
