Chapter 3

As Samuel left that day, he thought about all of things he wanted to do. As young adult he spent most of his time trying to get into law school, in which he succeeded. From then on he spent even more time trying to climb the professional latter at the law firm that he worked. He never really allowed himself much time for fun, so he didn't know where to start.

However by the end of the day his list was

Learn to ride a bike
Cook a 5 course meal
Learn how to shoot
See the Grand Canyon
Tell Gabriella that I am in love with her.

He couldn't wait to show Gabriella the list in the morning. Of course with exception of the last item. She was his friend for a long time and saying things like that could mess up their relationship, especially since he was dying.

They meet up at the same café as before and Gabriella looked at his list with amusement.

"I don't want knock down your bucket list, but why don't you know how to ride a bike? That is one of things that every child learns to do. Well except for you I guess."

"My parents did not believe in buying me toys, but instead books. You can't blame me for that."

"Maybe not, but I can blame for not learning when you could get your own bike."

Samuel sighed and said "Very true. You know how I was. It was always work, work, work. I was so focused on that, I missed out on life. Its funny how all of that won't matter at the end of the day, I might die soon anyway"

Noticing how the conversation took a turn to Somberville, Gabriella said "I can teach you how to ride bike today. I will get my bike from home and we can practice in the park near my apartment building. Sounds like a plan?"

"Sounds like a plan."

At the park, when Samuel saw the bright, almost neon pink bike he was in deep opposition on learning how to ride on that particular bike.

"What kind of color is that?! I will not be seen on that monstrosity of a machine. It is absolutely ridiculous."

"Almost as ridiculous as you not knowing how to ride a bike? Also haven't you seen the slogans, real men wear pink? Are you a real man or are you a pansy who won't get on a bike just because it is pink? Right now you are looking like a total pansy."

"I am not a pansy!" He then hopped on the bike to prove her wrong while falling on his back in the process.

Helping him off the ground she said "Okay, first rule of riding a bike, you just don't hop on. You don't want to do that when only a single piece of metal is holding it up."

She showed him how to get on the bike properly and he cycled a couple feet, with her help of course. After an hour of falls, screams, whining and terrified children and parents, Samuel could finally cycle on his own. As he went up and down the side walk, Gabriella couldn't help but feel a little tingle in her heart. He just looked so happy and so carefree, she wished she could stay in that moment a little longer. Sadly she knew that all good things must come to an end.

A/N: Sorry that this chapter is shorter than the others. For some reason it felt right to end it when I did. I hope you all are enjoying the story and stay tuned for my next update.
