(y/n) POV

"I'll keep this brief. You have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills. And when you have finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, direction. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step." Ozpin said, "You will gather in the ballroom tonight. Tomorrow your initiation begins. Be ready. You are dismissed." A gorgeous woman said, "I've seen that look before, kid. Don't go there." a girl said as she grabbed my shoulder, "I'm Eve Summers, and you are?" she asked, "(y/n) Wayne." I said, "Come on kid let's grab some dinner. We can talk about your little crush." she joked, "Mind if I invite a friend?" I asked, "The more the merrier." she said.

Drew POV

"Don't do anything stupid." Winter said as I exited the airship, "I'll need my hands." I said as she uncuffed me, "Before you go. Mother wanted you to have this." she said as she handed me a long sword, "I'm a gunslinger." I said, "It's a gift, be grateful." she said, "I would be if it were from her." I said before I hugged my frigid sister, "Thank you, Winter, I'll try to use it." I said shockingly she hugged me back in a moment of warmth, before growing cold once more, "Be sure you do." She said as she left, "Mr. Tex, I trust there will be no incidents." Ozpin said, "Nope, I'm far away from my family, I'll be good." I said. 

(y/n) POV

"So why Goodwich? Why not the hottie sitting next to you?" Eve asked as she took a bite of her nachos causing Pyrrha to choke on her water, "She's too nice. I don't trust it. I feel like she's plotting something." I said as I poked Pyrrha's cheek, "Nah it's cause she's like a sister to me. We grew up around each other, it'd be weird to date her." I said, "Well then what about her?" Eve asked pointing to a girl across the room, "Irene Shade?" Pyrrha said, "You know her?" I asked, "She's Vacuo's Sweetheart. She graduated Cover Academy two years ago and was rejected by Beacon twice. She's turned to modeling I guess she finally got in." Pyrrha said. 

Drew POV

I decided to try and train with my sword. "Your form is terrible." a girl said as she knocked my sword out of my hand with a tap from her sword, "I'm Irene, if you want I'll teach you how to use a blade." she offered, "That would be a big help thanks, I'm Drew." I said.

(y/n) POV

The next morning we were launched off a cliff, I drew my sword and stabbed it into a tree to slow my fall. Suddenly a guy landed next to me in a damn hero pose, "Damn it. I was hoping to find Irene." he sighed, "Hi, I'm (y/n)." I said, "Drew, I guess you're my partner." he said, "Don't sound too broken up about it." I said, "Sorry, I just have a small crush on this girl, I was hoping I'd find her and get to know her a little." he said, "Then let's find her. And for my help, you can help me win over the girl I like." I said, "Should be easy who is it?" he asked, "The hot professor!" I said, "Bro. She's way older than you." he said, "I like what I like." I said, "It sounds like you have mommy issues." he said, "Maybe a little." I said.

Eve POV

Irene and I were walking to find the relic, "OK ON THE COUNT OF THREE NAM YOUR FAVORITE DINOSAUR. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT JUST NAME IT! 1, 2, 3..." a boy said, "VELOCIRAPTOR!" (y/n) and the boy said, "WHAT!" the boy said, "Did we just become best friends?!" (y/n) said, "YEP!" the boy said, "That's cute you made a friend, kid." I said as we approached them, "Yeah, this is Drew. Drew this is Eve." (y/n) said looking away from me.

(y/n) POV

"Yeah, this is Drew. Drew this is Eve." I said as I looked over to Drew who looked horrified, I turned around and saw Irene had been impaled on the fang of a King Taijitu, Eve engaged her aura and drew her daggers, but the second head devoured her in a single bite. "H-Help m-me..." Irene begged weakly as she reached out to us, "YOU BASTARD!" Drew cried as he ran into the fight only to be crushed under its massive body. His blood splattered across my face along with Irene's when the Grimm thrashed its head ripping her in half. I looked up in horror as the Grimm prepared to kill me. I quickly hit the load crystal hoping it would work.

I found myself overlooking a cliff, the same cliff I trained at two months ago before the Mystral Tournament! I broke down and threw up. I wiped my mouth and wiped away some of my friend's blood. "I can do it right this time. I can save them." I said as I stood up, "But I'll need to train harder." I said as I clenched my fist until it bled.
