Kagami put his key in the lock, turning the handle to open his front door. He opened it and walked in. He set his bag down and straightened up. Something felt oddly quiet. He closed the door and went to the living room. It was totally empty.

"Aoumi?" He called out to her. He didn't exactly expect her to come running to him, but he thought he might see her. But she wasn't there in the kitchen or the bedroom or bathroom. How did she get out? He locked the door and he never left any windows open when he was gone.

"Aoumi?!" His voice was strained with worry.

He ran back to the bedroom. He started yanking his covers from the bed and opening all his drawers and the closet. But the little black cat was gone.
