The police raid the given location of the assassin's den. Armed with firearms and equipped with safety gears. They were well prepared and the operation was fully planned out carefully knowing they were up against a professional killer.

But luck seems to be on their favor because the assassin was caught off guard. He was a mess, drunk and seemed to have finally gone out of his mind. The estate was nearly empty and the room he was found in was total chaos, as if he had been raging and breaking things to vent out his anger.

Although he did put up a good fight, being a retired assassin he was, he has some trick up his sleeves. But in his drunken state, he was easily overwhelmed by the number of policemen and was able to subdue him with minimal casualty.

Gaster Wingdings was arrested for child abuse and domestic violence. But that was just the tip of the iceberg. He was suspected of multiple murder, illegal trade, and many more. He will serve his time in jail and probably die there too due to his old age.

A rotting dead body of a woman was found in one of the bedrooms, lying on the bed and a noose hanging from the ceiling. It wasn't hard to figure out what happened and the bruise around her neck just further proved the case.

Based on the investigations, she's been dead for nearly a week. Left to rot in a room where she committed suicide. Her identity was soon uncovered to be Gaster's wife, named Renrink. According to the autopsy, her body sports many bruises from, which they could only assume, the abuse.

Reaper was torn between devastation and relief. He was in a battle with his mind and emotion. On one side, he was glad that his father was finally be put behind bars and punished for what he'd done. On the other, his mother was dead.

He felt more conflicted about it. There's guilt for leaving her behind in the hand of that man. Then there's a mixture of sorrow and gratification because she's dead. She's free, but she's gone forever.

Reaper was laughing but the tears he's shedding was sad. Heartwrenching. He would've fallen off the edge of insanity if not for CQ's care which greatly resembles of his own mother's.

CQ claimed Renrink's body from the morgue. With the help of the police, of course. Otherwise, that wouldn't even be possible because they weren't Renrink's relatives.

CQ, along with her neighbors and friends including Comyet, gave Renrink a proper burial.

After that, CQ showered Reaper with affection that he was starved with and welcomed him in her home as an 'official' adopted child. Although the scars ran deep and will take a lot of time for Reaper to heal.

The adjustment in their home wasn't easy. Error was jealous because Geno was always with Reaper. He complains about Geno doesn't have time to play with him anymore. Of course, Geno understood and tried to balance his time with his brothers and Reaper.

Reaper was mildly amused, though. Sometimes, he would tease the younger by saying that Geno was his. It was cute how Error would jump straight to attack mode and tirelessly argue with Reaper about who Geno belongs to. Being completely unaware of how intimate his words were.

Fresh, on the other hand, was delighted to have a new bestie in their home. He was down to know more about Reaper and his hobbies, which of course, Reaper have to sugar coat.

Upon learning that Reaper knows karate, some self-defense techniques, and knife- I mean pen twirling, Fresh was eager to learn from the other. Asking Reaper to teach him those cool tricks.

During weekdays, when Error and Fresh were at school, Reaper was in charge of looking after Geno while CQ catches up on her work. It's his duty as a part of this family.

He would also sleep next to Geno since they can't really be separated. Sometimes CQ was jealous because now she can rarely sleep with Geno.

Her baby grew up so fast.

There were times when the neighbors would question Reaper and Geno's intimate relationship. "Isn't he a 'little' too old for your son?" they would ask. Of course, CQ understood it was out of concern and she would drop the bomb on them by saying "They're the same age."

She didn't hear another complaint from them again.

One night, as Reaper and Geno lay next to each other, the moon was shining and everyone's asleep, Reaper gaze into Geno's peacefully sleeping face. Lifting a hand and resting it on the smaller's slightly cold cheek.

"Thank you." he whispered. The rest of the message was left unsaid, but for they share the same soul, there's no need to do so. They can feel each other's emotions. And Reaper relayed the rest of the message through feelings of utter gratefulness and joy that reaches Geno even in his sleep. A small smile crossed Geno's lips as an indication that he received the message and Reaper smiled back.

Rolling the Credits

The main idea of this story came from a_star_nerd

Seriously, it was them behind this. I just added my own embellishments *jazz hands*. I would have never thought of the soul transplant thing as possible.

They actually gave me two plots. But I won't be doing that anytime soon because I'm focusing on my two other AfterDeath books. It's been delayed long enough.

See ya in my other books! Bye bye!
