Cut Content

So while writing, especially at the beginning of a story, you end up with a lot of ideas that you don't use for one reason or another. And that's no different with the Two Sides of the Same Coin. Sometimes I'll cut something but decide to put it in another story or just use it later in the book. Others I just don't find a place to use at all. Now some of these ideas are alright and maybe I will use them later but others... Not so much. I'm not going to put all of the cut content in here because some of it does sort of tie in with the story's final roadmap.

I guess I'll start off with two Georgias. So when Georgia meets Ukraine, there was going to be a joke about her thinking he was the country Georgia. When he meets the runways, one of them was going to be the other Georgia too, and throughout the book he would be there in the background. The reason I cut this was because of two things. The first is that it would probably make reading the story confusing as hell. And the second reason is that if I had that joke in there repeatedly it's like beating a dead horse, and the joke ain't even funny in the first place, so I decided it wasn't worth it.

"Georgia turned to Ukraine, 'you Ok?' He asked. Georgia came over and asked Georgia, 'am I interrupting something Georgia?'"

Next up, I planned on having a mini series called, "Fixing Bridges," about the other states fixing tensions between North and South. Since it was going to take place at the same time as the main plot, Georgia wouldn't have been the main character, it would have Ohio. I didn't cut this because I thought it was bad idea, but because I think this idea has more potential than a mini series that's only a part of another story. I might make this a full story at some point.

Next up is the Christmas specials. I was going to realise a few short stories for Christmas, and I still might, but I have two parodies that never made the cut and I only wrote the start of. The first is a parody of The Night Before Christmas, and the the second is a parody of the song Twelve Days of Christmas.

It was a cold winter night and for once, A silence fell over the house of the states, like a blank slate. It was the eve of Christmas, and though many were many states were asleep with dreams of the presents they're revive, one state was not so naive.
I'm am speaking of Texas of course. A big state, Texas was willing to defend his home by any means, even the use of force.

So yeah theres that, I liked it but I just write the rest, partially because rhymes are hard.

On the first day of Christmas Ame gave to me
Georgia in a peachtree

On the second day of Christmas Ame gave to me
Two Virginias
And a Georgia in a peachtree

On the third day of Christmas Ame gave to me
Three pairs of states

So moving on to the last and probably weirdest cut content, there was a point where I was gonna make this story super meta. I'm going to skip over a lot of stuff here, but it was going to to be about how Ukraine knew they were in a story, and was trying to save everyone in it from the readers. The idea was that since these characters are fictional and only exist in our mind, once we forget about them they no longer exist, sort of like Shrogerner's cat. (I know I spelled that wrong but oh well) After some stuff happens, the story would have ended with the characters sat discussing of they were memorable enough, and how long would they stay in the reader's mind.

I don't think I need to say too much here about this idea, I feel like Y'all can figure out why I didn't make this. Even though as I'm writing this I'm thinking about how the story I have mostly finalized at this point is still pretty unexpected and a bit weird.

Anyway that's about it I just wanted to get these ideas out here. My birthday is tomorrow and it made me realize I've been writing on this sight for a while now, and I just wanna says for reading my stuff, it always makes me happy to see a new comment or vote or even just that there's a few more views on my story, so really, thanks.
