Chapter 5
A small grin strechted across Alabama's lips as he opened the door to the room the states usually used as a rec-room. It quickly vanished when he remembered why he was here. As he walked in he saw Florida sat next to Texas, with North standing infront of them. Alabama walked up towards to the table of gambling states. It had a few hours since they're meeting, and Georgia had yet to come back. Normally he wouldn't have worried, but considering how his brother had been for the past week, he wasn't too sure.
"And that's me ten bucks richer!" North Carolina said as Texas lifted his middle finger as he and Texas took each took out five dollars and handed it to him, "I call bullshit," Florida mumbled. North only shrugged with his smug smile, "Not my fault your this bad at Blackjack. A ten and a five, and a six and a seven, that's just bad luck. Now you wanna go again?"
Before either of the states could answer, North saw Alabama and waved him over, "Hey Alabama, were playing blackjack, you wanna join? Bets five bucks."
"Don't do it pardner, he's a cheater," Texas joked. Alabama just went ahead and asked what was on his mind. "Any of y'all heard back from Georgia yet? Even Tenn can catch gators faster then this."Florida just waved his hand dismissively, "I wouldn't be worried about him. It's Georgia, he always was the clever type. Could be he just went somewhere to clear his head."
North added, "Or maybe he finally found a girlfriend." That got a chuckle from Texas, "North, I don't think your one to talk bout relationships, how'd you and Cork work out again." (Authors note: During the potato famine, A lot of residents of Cork Ireland went over to the US, Including NC"
"For the last time, it was mutual!" North yelled at the now laughing lone star state. Texas just turned back towards Alabama, "For real though pardner, it's probably a good sign that he's out longer then he needed to be. maybe it means he's recovering."
Alabama just sighed, "Yeah, your probably. I think I'll take y'all up on that offer," he said taking a seat as he took out five one dollar bills and put them on the table.

"Any luck?" Romania asked her brother. "Still can't find her," Russia answered. "It's been three hours, how do we even know she's still in the park?" Poland asked in a anxious tone. Russia only shrugged, "We don't. But we haven't got any other leads, so we keep looking." Poland put her hands in her pockets and kicked a rock, "For someone who's basically a dam glow stick, you'd think she'd be easy to find." She mumbled under her breath.
"Wait, look, over on that hill!" Poland pointed to behind Russia. He quickly turned around and squinted, and sure enough, saw a faint green glow on the. That could only be one person. They didn't say anything past that. They just broke into a sprint towards their sister. As they got closer, it looked like they're was someone else on the hill. 'Shit.' He felt his anger turn to concern instantly. He thought about all those times after her accident when she tried talking to people, only for them to run in fear.
As they got within earshot, it seemed like they were just talking, but still, he didn't trust the guy. Once Ukraine saw the three she waved, and the person turned towards them. "Oh, hey guys! This" she pointed to her new 'friend,' "is Georgia. Georgia, these are my siblings, Poland, Romania, and Russia." She pointed to each of her siblings as she said their names. Russia folded his arms across his chest, Poland smiled and Romania jumped up and waved. "Pleasure to meet y'all. I gotta say, it's not really a great day outside. What brings you out here today." Ukraine rubbed her arm, Poland looked towards the sky, but Romania just excitedly cheered, "We ran away, and we're gonna make a fort here!"
"Dammit Romania," Poland mumbled. Romania stopped and looked at her for a second, then smiled and looked back to Georgia, "I forgot, it's also a secret. So we can't tell you, ok?"
"Georgia, listen, don't tell anyone. We can't go back home. Our dad USSR, he..." She trailed off, "He was an abusive shit." Russia said monotone, finishing her sentence.
Georgia just put his hands up, "Hey I get it, I trust Ukraine, if she says not to tell anyone, then I swear I won't say a word about it. But based off the fact you guys are trying to build a 'fort' in a park, I'm assuming that you don't have a place to stay for the night?"
Russia scoffed, "What's it to you?"
"I believe in helping people, no matter who they are. If you guys need somewhere to go, we got an extra room and a few beds back at my place. We'd be more than happy to share." Russia raised his eyebrow, whilst Ukraine asked, "Are you sure don't mind?" Georgia looked her right in the eye, and answered, "It'd our pleasure."
Horray! Back to (mostly) normal sized chapters. As an update, I recently writing the first in what is planned to be a series of statehuman books. I know that last time I said I had a new book it was this one, and I said that it would be out on the forth of July, but trust me this time, it should be out soon. If there's anyone else out there who should probably be studying for 1st semester exams, hey. Also I have a short behind the scenes chapter on December 16th, so stay tuned. As usual I post every Saturday, thanks for reading, see you soon.
