"Ema..."

The maiden's eyes toured the place, trying to find where the voice came from but she only saw the vegetation, sad and relapse as if a curse had taken hold of it.

"Ema..."

The voice repeated her nickname in a sweet and delicate way, hugging the air like the scent of an oak tree on a rainy afternoon in spring. The young woman started to walk, barefoot through the dark forest; letting the voice direct her with its eco. Carried away, she followed the path to the darkness, ignoring all the signals that indicated her to stop and turn, but something in the voice kept her relaxed, as if in a limbo that it became difficult to get out.

A bright light at the end of some bushes made the maiden blink, and then she realized that she had reached a cliff. Her heart began to beat wildly and her breathing turned harsh. Her eyes tried to observe the surrounding area seeking a way out, but her feet were kept firm making it impossible for any movement. At the same time she grasped that she was no longer alone, noticing a shadow approaching her.

The maiden sighed and steeled herself before heading for the spectrum.

"Show yourself!"

The figure smiled and started walking slowly towards the light but abruptly stopped.

"Are you sure of what you ask?"

The voice changed its sweet and velvety tone, becoming more serious and threatening.

"Yes."

The curious maiden, answered firmly. At that time the girl had never been so repentant of having taken a decision so suddenly, when she saw those vacant eyes that had haunted her for years, appearing from the shadows to finally put an end to her life, once and for all.
