chapter seven

The pep rally was. . . interesting. There was a lot of screaming, yelling, and games. The big game is in less than four hours, and it's complete chaos in the Zvahl household.

I'm currently sitting on Laurance's bed bored out of my mind as I watch him and the other other football boys mess around in his room. Why the hell is his room so large?

Laurance looks over at me and winks, and I just roll my eyes and flip him off. That's when the rest of the boys decide to be complete imbeciles and rip on him for it.

A knock on the door is heard, Luke, an idiot, went to go answer it.

He turns around to show the petite cheerleader standing in the doorway. "Laurance dude, your hot little sister's here."

I roll my eyes once again as Laurance groans. I can only imagine how weird it is hearing somebody calling your sibling hot, but I wouldn't know.

Alex places her hand on her hip and begins to talk with a hint of sass. "Well hello to you too Liam," His name isn't Luke? "Laurance, I'm leaving for Aphmau's now, I'll see you at the game." She flashes a small smile towards me and stares up at Lu-Liam. "By the way, buy a dictionary. Most girls don't like being called hot, myself included. A few words you could've used are dainty, beautiful, and if you're into big words you could use pulchritudinous. However, I perfer you wouldn't call that one to me because it talks about physical beauty instead of what's inside." I don't think any of that was in English.

Liam turns to Laurance, "Dude, I forgot your sister was smart." Ouch.

Laurance nods his head at him, and I run to her. "Bring me with!" I can't stand cheerleaders, nor can I stand Aphmau's aggravating voice, but I'll do anything not to be in here any longer.

By the time we make it to Aphmau's we walk in to see a bunch of girls in the same outfits, lounging around in the living room. I suppose I thought it was going to be very stereotypical with them all talking about boys, doing each other's hair, and all that shit. Most of them are just on their phones.

Aphmau walks over, a pink meif'wa with her. "Hey Alex!" Aphmau looks at me. "Y/N, correct?" I nod my head and she leads us further inside. "We were waiting for you. We have some things to discuss before the game tonight."

I swear if it's about crushes and games of truth or dare then I'm going to die.

Lately, and even in the past, it's like everything is in black or white. I'd place all the these people, cheerleaders, football players, populars, and so many more far away from me. I never wanted anything to do with them, and here I am rubbing elbows with them. It's only been a week, so I'm scared about who I'll turn out to be after another week.

It's like the Socs and the Greasers. Or even back during the French Revolution where the third class ended up fighting the first and second classes because of how unfair it was between them. The third class had taxes to pay and little to nothing for political power, and the other classes were wearing those stupid culottes things showing off their power. Yeah, look how that turned out. Heads are flying into baskets everywhere.

I guess this project really is taking a toll on me, and I've even been opening up to Laurance more. I'm changing, and I don't know how to feel about it. Laurance caught me off guard two days ago when he called me pretty, and even told me that other people think I'm pretty too. That was the one day in a long time I felt heat rise to my cheeks. I don't know how to feel about it either.

I continued to eat the candy bar I stole from Zenix earlier this morning as I sit on Laurance's kitchen counter.

"Must you sit on the kitchen counter?" He asks me and I give him no responce.

The paper is going to by due soon, but what do I write? Nobody needs to know what has happened. Laurance has already seen things I have never wanted anybody to know.

I feel hands cup my cheeks and I swat them away.

"What's going on in that pretty little head of yours?" He asks me as he takes me off the counter against my cries for him not to.

I cross my arms over my chest. I want to glare, but it won't form no matter how hard I try. "You think I'm pretty?" I ask.

He laughs, "Of course I do. Everybody does."

That's when a blush takes over my cheeks.

Somebody is snapping in my face, and I look up to see Aphmau. She smiles at me as she begins to talk. "That okay Y/N?"

"Yeah, sure, that's fine."

Aphmau begins to smirk as a few 'I'm sorry' smiles are thrown at me. What did I agree to? Why didn't I listen to my rule of never agreeing to something I didn't hear? I swear if I need to streak down this street everybody here is dying before the game tonight.

Alex sighs, "I never get any says in there conversations. Goodbye shirt covering my stomach," I watch as she slips off Laurance's jersey and tosses it my way. My eyes widen once my hands touch the fabric. "I'll be right back. I'm taking Garroth's."

I shake my head repeatedly. "No, no, no, no, no, no! I am not doing this!"

Kawaii~Chan pushes the jesery to me again. "Y/N~Chan has to! Y/N~Chan promised!"

"I didn't promise anything!"

My little fight ends once Alex happily skips down the stairs, a different jersey on. "Garroth's cologne is strange."

I give in and let the jersey fall over my torso. I'm drowning in it as I stand up, and it falls just under my butt as the sleeves just barely end before my elbows.

"How long do I have to wear this?" I ask.

Kawaii~Chan giggles, "For the rest of the night! Y/N~Chan is silly!"

My eyes widen. "THE REST OF THE NIGHT!"

"Yep, and Kawaii~Chan will be watching from below too!"

I'm going to die!

I'm dying, and I don't know a single thing about football. All I see is them running around with a football, getting tackled, and then terrible touchdown dancing.

Oh yeah, the butt slapping has gone full throttle. As long as somebody doesn't slap mine, we're fine.

The screaming of the crowd intensifies as the cheerleaders run off into the stand and the next thing I know is that I'm being pulling by Aphmau to the field. She gives me pompoms and I see that the rest of the girls brought other people down as well. They begin a cheer and tell us to copy after them. I copy it, thankfully, to the point where I look like I know what I'm doing. I'm still stuck in this jersey and now I'm known as "Laurance's Girl." It turns out that nobody has ever worn Laurance's jersey besides Alex, so this is going to come back to bite me in the ass.

The game finishes with a win for Phoenix Drop High, and I watch Laurance be picked up from his cheering teammates. It's truly cliché knowing that we won for homecoming, but whatever. Tomorrow's the dance, and I think I may just die trying to dance when I can't. Can you guess who I'm going with? Josh Hutcherson, that's who.

I need to stop lying to myself.

I'm going with Laurance. Which once again, I had no say so in. Diana has already gone out and bought one of those man flower thingys, and Laurance's tie matches my dress. I hate this so damn much. . .

Diana is forcing me to go to the dance, and now she's forcing Sasha to go. Since this is Gene's last homecoming, he's being forced to go, and Zenix refused to be left out so he's going. Since I'm being forced to go with Laurance, I'm forcing Gene to go with Sasha. I would force Sasha to go with Zenix, but Zenix needs to live, and he just told us he was going yesterday.

I watch as the boys finally come back out of the school in their normal attire and I feel like curling up in a ball and dying once I catch Laurance's gaze on me. My breath hitches when he begins to walk towards me, and then suddenly lose sight of him. Oh shit. . . Where is here?!

I look around and I feel a pair of hands on my waist and then I'm lifted into the air. I'm placed on somebody's shoulder and I look down to see Laurance's smiling face. I'm not gonna die?

His smile lowly turns into a smirk. "You look good. Miss me today?"

"Hell no! Now put me down! I'm goin' fall because of this!"

He only smirks more. "No you won't. Guess what babe, you're going to a sleepover at Aphmau's house." My eyes widen like Nellie Oleson's from an episode of Little House on the Prairie once he speaks those words. First he won't put me down, and now I have to go to a sleepover? I'm done for. Wait, did he just call me babe? "See you tomorrow beautiful."

He puts me down and jogs away. What the hell?!
