They all got into a fighting stance.

"Fight her," Sasuke's deep emotionless voice ordered.

The three started to charge at me so I got ready. I couldn't really focus though because of Sasuke. There he was, the man who broke my heart , standing not even ten feet away from me. He got taller and looked more manly but the more I looked at him, the more I started to get angry.

"Focus Mariah focus!" I thought.

Suigetsu came from behind me, I noticed that he had Zabuza's sword and was going for a swing at my mid section. Before the blade could hit me I jumped and landed on the blade. I did a back flip and put my hand on the top of his head which made him lose balance and fall.

The guy with orange hair came and tried to punch me but I quickly grabbed his fist and threw him over my shoulder with my strength. Karin tried for a kick but I slid under her then kicked her back towards Sasuke. As she was going to fly into her he dodged. I couldn't resist the erg to look at him so when I did I got lost in his eyes which caused me to get distracted.

Suigetsu went for another slice but I regained focus and took out my sword and deflected it. The other two stayed back as we engaged in a sword fight to see who was the best swordsman. He took a swing at my legs, I jumped over him went for a jab at his abdomen, he deflected. It went on like that for a while until I caught him off guard and landed a hit on his arm. When my sword went through his arm it turned into water. I was baffled for a minute but analyzed the situation.

"Okay so I'm guessing he can turn into water when hit so since he's made out of water he should be weak against lightning." I thought.

I got a good distance from him and started to do some hand signs. He tried not to give me a chance to finish them but it was too late to stop me.

"Lightning style: Lightning bolt!" I shouted while holding my arm up.

The lightning bolt started to form in my hand, when it was finished I threw it at him with such speed that he didn't have time to react. When he got hit he screamed in pain and fell to his knees.

(Sasuke's POV)

"This girl........she could be very useful...." I thought as she fought the three.

Juugo came and tried to punch her but she quickly grabbed his fist and threw him over her shoulder with. Karin went for a kick but she slid under her then kicked her back towards me.

"Damn Karin, can't she be more useful?" I thought annoyed.

I dodged her before she could hit me. The girl looked over at me and made eye contact not looking away. All that I could see was pain and anger in her eyes but she focused on the fight. Suigetsu went for another slice but she took out her sword and deflected it. He took a swing at her legs, she jumped over him went for a jab to his abdomen, he deflected.

 "Her sword skills are better than Suigetsu's," I thought.

"She's good at analyzing situations," I observed. "She's also quick on her feet and thinks ahead."

Karin and Juugo were about to help him but I held out my arm.

"Don't, I've seen enough." I said.

She regained her composer. As Karin and Juugo were checking in Suigetsu, I approached her.

(Mariah's POV)

I felt butterflies in my stomach. His voice got so deeper  which sent shivers down my spine. My butterflies soon stopped as I stared at his smug face making me angry.

Oh shit," I thought as Sasuke approached me. "Should I tell him? No, he wouldn't care. I think it's better if he thinks that I'm still dead, he probably is glad that I'm dead though. What should my name be though? Um think Mariah think!"

"Pick Kaku, that's a pretty name."

"Wow, for once I'll listen to you." I thought.

He stood a few feet away from me. We were almost the same height but he was a few inches taller than me.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"Kaku, what's it to you?" I replied.

"I want you to join our team." He said with an emotionless expression.

"What makes you think that I want to join your team?" I questioned.

"Because I could kill you right now if you don't."

"Ha that bastard thinks he can kill me? Over confident as always."

I looked away from his gaze pretending to think about it. I looked at Kurayami in the bushes giving me a concerned look.

"Fine, I'll join you but it's not because of your threat. I have nothing better to do and plus, you can't kill me."

            "Very well then, let's go and get more acquainted." He said turning away.

I followed him cautiously towards his team. When we approached them they all looked at Sasuke then at me.

"I've decided that she'll join our team because of her skills." Sasuke told them.

Then Karin stood up with an angered look but then tried to talk sweeter.

"Sasuke-kun why would you want another girl on this team!" She said all flirty.

"Not another fan girl." I thought as I felt my heart clench.

"Because of her skills," He replied ignoring her behavior.

Then Suigetsu stood up looking as if nothing ever happened.

"Well I'm glad that we finally got a hot girl on our team!" He said all cheery.

That sent anger and disgust throughout my body. Even though he was hot I don't like those kinds of guys.  Karin then hit the back of his head causing a bump to form.

"Oh god it's another Naruto and Sakura," I thought. "I wonder if this is why Sasuke chose them to be in his group."

"I don't mind," the other dude said.

Then Suigetsu came up to me and slung an arm around my neck.

"So what's your name? I'm Suigetsu." He introduced.

"Kaku, and don't touch me." I said in a harsh voice.

Recognizing the hostile tone he quickly put his arm to his side.

"Hehe well that's Juugo, this is Karin, and he's Sasuke." He said pointing to each of them.

I turned to Sasuke.

"Whatever," I muttered.

I flinched because I was being disrespectful so I was use to getting hit.

"Why did you flinch?" Suigetsu asked.

"None of your business." I snapped.

I flinched again.

"Well you're flinching for a reason."

I looked away.

"Whatever are we just going to stand here forever?" I said.

"Where were you going anyway?" Karin asked.

"Nowhere, I just travel from place to place."

"Don't you have friends or family?"

I flinched at that subject.

"No, I have no one."

Sasuke looked at me studying my wrist, neck, and face seeing the exposed bruises.

"Let's get going," Sasuke said walking away.

I glanced at Kurayami and signaled for her to return to where she came from.  We all started to follow him and Karin was glaring at me, Suigetsu had hearts in his eyes while staring at me, and Juugo was just looking ahead. I tried to ignore the two staring at me by looking at Sasuke. My stomach had butterflies but my heart was hurting.

I was angry, hurt, sad, happy, confused, nervous, and jealous at the same time. It wasn't a good feeling to have all at once. My heart was still broken.

"He doesn't love you anymore well he never loved you in the first place. Why do you still love him? It was only a little crush anyway, you couldn't have loved him."

"Shut up, what do you know?" I thought.

"I know a lot about you actually."

"How do I know you're not lying to me? Why can't you just leave me alone?!"

"You don't, and I won't leave you alone."

"Hey Kaku," Suigetsu said next to me.

"What?"

"Has anyone ever told you that you're pretty?"

"Yes, about every single guy I meet."

"Suigetsu! Leave her alone you idiot!" Karin said smacking him.

"Yup, this is team 7 all over again." I thought.

I looked at Sasuke's face and saw some emotion. He looked annoyed because Karin and Suigetsu were fighting. Juugo looked indifferent he was just looking at the sky. I looked back at Sasuke and I noticed that he still had the curse mark on his neck and was still sealed.

I looked back up at the sky and noticed that it was dark out. Sasuke stopped and so did everyone else.

"We're going to stop here for the night." He said.

After he said that everyone just plopped down in exhaustion. We've been walking for a long time but I wasn't even tired. They gathered fire wood and Sasuke made it with his jutsu. I sat down close to the fire across from Sasuke next to Suigetsu and Juugo. Karin was on the other side of Juugo and next to Sasuke.

"So Kaku, tell us about yourself." Juugo said.

I looked at him and the others.

"Like what?"

"I don't know, age, village, jutsus, abilities."

"I'm fifteen almost sixteen.  I came from the lightning village, I know a lot of jutsus which are useful, and I have every chakra nature." I said.

"So why do you flinch?" Suigetsu asked.

"None of your business,"

"How did you get those bruises on your wrists?" Karin asked.

"Fighting," I said.

"It doesn't look like that. It looks like someone got a good grip on you and I can see that you're wearing makeup on your cheek, neck, and eyes."

I tensed.

"So you're hiding something,"

"What are you hiding?"

I looked away.

"Come on show us,"

"Karin." Suigetsu started.

"No I want to see."

"Karin leave her alone," Sasuke said.

"Fine, if you want to see so badly."

I wiped all of the make-up off revealing the bruises. Everyone gasped except for Sasuke of course.

"Those look like you weren't engaged in a fight." Karin said with a hint of guilt in her voice.

"No they weren't but I won't tell you anything else." I said.

After a few hours of them talking to each other they went to bed but Sasuke and I were the only ones up. I was staring at the fire trying not to look at him.

"You should get some rest," Sasuke said.

"Why would you care? You don't look like the kind of person to care about others. I'll keep watch, you should rest." I snapped back.

I flinched again when I realized what tone I used.

"Do you get hit whenever you are disrespectful?" He asked.

I looked up at him as he was studying my reaction.

"Why would it matter? I'm free from that for now."

"What do you mean by for now?"

"I have to go back sooner or later; they'll come looking for me."

"Who?"

"I'm not telling you; you weren't even supposed to know any of this."

"Why not?"

"Just go and sleep, I don't want to talk about it."

"You know..............you remind me of someone that I used to know."

"I get that a lot,"

He then went to sleep and I waited until he was in a deep sleep. When I was positive that they were all fast I asleep I took out my necklace from under my shirt. As I was looking at it I kept glancing at Sasuke then back to the necklace. I laid down on my back and looked up at the stars taking in its beauty. The next morning Sasuke was the first to rise. When he saw me still awake he walked over to me.

"Were you up all night?" He asked while putting out the fire.

"Yes, I don't need rest."  I replied reaching into my bag.

I pulled out my make-up and applied it on my neck and face. By the time I was finished everyone else was starting to wake up. I put everything back into my bag then got up and stretched. We started heading out to..........where ever we were heading to. As we were running Karin caught up to my pace and was now running next to me.

"Can I help you?" I asked.

"Yes, why did you even agree to join us?" She asked.

"Because I have nothing better to do?" I answered.

"Or is it because you like Sasuke?! Just so you know, he's my boyfriend."

My heart stopped.

"Boyfriend? No, it's impossible, he wouldn't like someone like her would he? Did he actually like fan girls? Why would he like a fan girl? What does he see in her? Why would he even ask her out? Before he acted as if he wasn't interested in her; maybe he wants to keep it quiet." I thought.

"See, he never loved you Mariah."

"It has nothing to do with Sasuke." I said with no emotion in my voice.

"I bet it does!"

I rolled my eyes.

"Listen here; I don't have a crush on Sasuke."

"Then why were you looking at him when you first saw him? And how come when we were walking you wouldn't stop staring at him?"

"Because I recognized him from somewhere. I was staring at him because when I learned his name I remembered that a Sasuke killed Orochimaru so I was wondering on how someone like him could kill Orochimaru. Listen Karin, you're a sensor ninja right? So since you can sense my chakra you can also tell if I'm lying, am I lying?"

"Um....n-no."

"See, now leave me alone because you're getting on my nerves. When someone gets on my nerves........I kill them."

"S-Sasuke wouldn't let you kill me,"

"I bet he would because why would because he could replace you. I am also a medical ninja so he could just use me but since you're going out I guess he wouldn't let me."

She then backed off and slowed her pace. After a few minutes Suigetsu was next to me.

"So what do you have in your bag?" He asked.

"Nothing of your concern; you'll never see it anyway." I answered.

"Aw come on, just a peek." He begged with puppy dog eyes.

"No,"

"Please,"

"No, and that look doesn't work on me."

"Ppplllllllleeeeeeeeeaaaaaasssseeeeeee,"

"You're starting to piss me off."

"Aw come on, don't be that way Kaku."

"Why are you so persistent?"

"Because I think that you're beautiful and I want to get to know you."

"You...want to get to know me?"

"Yeah, you seem like you want to talk to someone but something holds you back. I can see that you're troubled and are in pain for some reason."

"........You're the first person in years to notice that and want to know why."

"Well you seem like you could use a friend." He said looking at me. "By the way, you're really good with your sword."

"Really? Uh thanks I guess. No one ever compliments on my swordsmen ship."

"Well then I must be the first."

"You know Suigetsu, you're not that bad. Even though you're flirting with me at least you're not like all the other guys who hit on me. All they want is just my body and nothing else but I can tell that you don't really want that."

"Wow, he's not that bad. He's hot, funny, and a decent guy." I thought.

I looked over at Sasuke.

"If Sasuke ever finds out who I really am and doesn't care then I'll move on."

OMG Sasuke has some competition now XD i wonder if Mariah will actually move on? Will she? Will she not? Tell me what you think hehe XD
