There's a lot of flashbacks and if you want you can skip like the first two cus they're from Why Me so you already read then skip it

I didn't know how long I was out here but the sun started to rise. I watched it slowly rise up and I was freezing! I sat up and my back was hurting but I ignored it and stood up. I walked back into the base then went to eat breakfast. I made some cereal and everyone started filing in the kitchen as their eyes landed on me and they coward.

"MARIAH-CHAN!" Tobi shouted giving me a bone crushing hug.

But quickly let go which was really strange. Everyone looked at him because he never lets go.

"Mariah-chan........You're so cold." He said.

They all looked at me and saw that I had Goosebumps all over my body and that my teeth were chattering. Itachi came over and placed his hand on my shoulder but quickly took it away.

"He's right, you're freezing."

"I'm f-f-f-fine," I stuttered getting up from the table.

I walked out of the kitchen and into my room. I jumped on the bed and curled into a ball under the covers to get warm. After a while I was starting to warm up. I stayed like that the whole morning but then I heard a knock at my door.

"It's open," I said.

The door opened slightly.

"Leader wants to see you." I heard Hidan's voice.

"Kay, I'll be there in a minute."

I slowly got up off the bed and walked out her bedroom to Pain's office. I walked down the hall and knocked on his door.

"Enter,"

"You wanted to see me?" I asked opening the door, stepping into his office.

"I have another mission for you."

"And that would be?"

"An assassination mission." He said handing me a folder.

"His name is Karu and he says that he has some information on all of us; including you. I want you to find him, interrogate him, then kill him."

He handed me a file and there was a picture of what he looked like. He has black hair that was a little longer than Kiba's and forest green eyes. He looked about in his early twenties probably younger than Itachi. I will admit he was pretty handsome.

"Easy,"

"But the catch is, is that Tobi is going with you."

"May I ask why?"

"He's still a new member so I figured that one of our best should take him out on his first mission."

"You didn't do that for me," I mumbled.

"What was that?"

"Nothing, so when do we start?"

"After lunch,"

"Fine whatever, Tobi will be lucky if he comes back alive." I said walking out.

I walked into the kitchen and saw Hidan, Deidara, Kisame, Tobi, and Itachi eating their lunch. Tobi noticed her first and stood up.

"YAY MARIAH-CHAN! WE GET TO GO ON A MISSION TOGETHER!!!" Tobi shouted.

Everyone else chuckled.

"What's so damn funny?" I asked.

"You have to go on a mission with Tobi, good luck." Kisame chuckled.

"Oh haha,"

"COME ON MARIAH-CHAN! LET'S GO!!" Tobi said pulling me away from the kitchen.

"Wait Tobi, I have to get my bag." I said trying to get out of his grip.

"Damn he's strong." I thought.

He let go and followed me to my room.

"Mariah-chan, Tobi's never been in your room before," Tobi said as I opened my door.

"Well usually Itachi is the only one that comes in here." I said grabbing my bag.

He looked around my room as I grabbed my cloak and put it on. I grabbed his sleeve and dragged him out of my room and out of the base. Right when we got out a cold breeze blasted in my face making me shiver.

"I. Hate. Winter!" I said.

We started to walk to the water country to look for Karu. Then of course Tobi just had to talk.

"Mariah-chan," He said.

I ignored him.

"Mariah-chan, Mariah-chan, Mariah-chan, Mariah-chan, Mariah-chan, Mariah-chan, Mariah-chan, Mariah-chan, Mariah-chan, Mariah-chan, Mariah-chan, Mariah-chan, Kira-sama, Kira-sama, Kira-sama, Kira-sama, Kira-sama, Kira-sama, Kira-sama, Kira-sama, Kira-sama,"

"WHAT!"

"What are you thinking about? Tobi wants to know!"

"I'm not thinking about anything,"

"Are you sure? Are you thinking about the leaf?"

"I'm sure,"

"Are you positive?"

"Yeah, I'm positive."

"Tobi doesn't think so,"

"Tobi, will you shut up."

"TOBI IS A GOOD BOY!"

I sighed.

"Can you tell me about the leaf or a story about leaf?"

"No,"

"PLEASE!"

"No"

"PLEASE!"

*Many many hours later*

"PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY PPPPLLLLLLEEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSEEEEEEEE!!!!!!"

"TOBI SHUT THE HELL UP!!!!"

I looked up at the sky and saw that it was getting late. I sighed.

"Fine, but you're setting up camp."

"YYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY!" He cheered running to get firewood.

In less than a minute he got everything set up and grabbed my hand. He pulled me over to the fire and sat me down. He sat on the opposite of the fire staring staring intently at me. I raised an eyebrow.

"Umm so what do you want to hear?" I asked.

"I want to know about Konaha!" He answered.

"Ummmm well there's nothing really special about it. It's full of nice people and it's pretty boring."

"Aw come one Mariah-chan! Fine then make up a story! I want you to tell me a story before I go to bed!"

He laid down getting comfortable.

"Ummmm ok? Once upon a time there was a young girl who uh had a troubled past.....She hated everyone and.......She was miserable but never showed it. She lived alone most of her life........Um she never had one friend until she was a little older........She was distant from them but over time they grew on her.......They got her to laugh and have fun for once and she started to trust them. One of her friends cared about her a lot and she thought of him as more than a friend but she'd never admit it.

One day her friends found out about her horrible past and tried to fix it but creating new good memories for her. On her birthday they all through a surprise party for her which made her very happy. The guy that she liked for a while took her out for her birthday. They uh had a really nice time and at the end of the night they kissed and confessed to each other.

Over the months they grew really close and they're relationship was known all through their town. Now her boyfriend had a lot of admirers and when he wasn't with her they all ganged up on her and made her cry. She was depressed but he came to her rescue and helped her through it..........They were inseparable and cared for each other.  They told each other everything but one day after an incident he became very distant.

One night he left the town but she caught him. He said some very hurtful things to her saying that everything was a complete lie. Every single I love you, the relationship itself; he only used her."

"Is that it?" Tobi asked with tears streaming down his face.

"Um..............well uuhhhhhhhhhhh after a few years  they......met up again and he................he"

"He what?"

I had to make the story happy at the end. If I didn't I knew that he wouldn't go to sleep so I'm going to make the ending my fantasy and what I hoped would happen.

"He told her that..................he actually loved her.............and that he was sorry for everything...........They got married and had kids. They lived happily ever after." I finished.

"OOOOhhhhh that was a great story! Well good night Mariah-chan!" He said lying back down and went to sleep.

When I knew that he was asleep I laid down on my back and thought about the ending of my story. That was the first time I've talked about Sasuke in years; she never thought she'd tell anyone in the Akatsuki about her life in the Leaf.

"If only it were true," I whispered while hot tears streamed down my face.

The next morning Tobi was still sleeping on the floor and I put out the fire. It was colder than yesterday since it's almost freaking December! I walked over to Tobi and knelt down beside him then shook his shoulder. He started to make noise but didn't get up.

"Tobi," I whispered.

He didn't move.

"Tobi," I said a little louder.

Nothing.

"TOBI!!!!" I yelled shaking him violently.

"AAAAAHHHH!!! UNICORNS STOLED MY CARPET!!!" He screamed bolting up and making our heads collide.

I fell backwards and clutched my head.

"Fuck that hurt."

"OMG MARIAH-CHAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! TOBI IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SUPER SOOOOOOOOOOO SORRRYYY!!!"

"Whatever, let's go." I said getting up.

I started to walk and Tobi was following not too far. For a few hours he was very quite which was really strange so I decided to read his mind. As I turned on my mind reading and directed it to him I couldn't hear anything. His mind was blocked.

"Hm I wonder what he's hiding. Just how powerful is he?" I thought.

"Hey Tobi?" I asked.

"Yes Mariah-chan!"

"What are you hiding?"

"Tobi doesn't understand."

"Your mind has a mental block so it must mean that you're hiding something from me and everyone else. I'll find out one day." I said.

 As we approached a place that I was familiar with nostalgia hit me like a ton of bricks when I saw a sign, "The Great Naruto Bridge". We walked under the sign and crossed the bridge to the land of waves. The memories of our first real mission flooded my mind, I tried to ignore them but nothing worked.

"The file said that Karu was last seen here." I said. "We might be here for a few days so stick with me or else you'll get lost."

"Where are we going to stay?" Tobi asked.

"I know a place,"

As we walked around I noticed that there were a lot of people and the abundance of food. I guess the bridge did some good for these people after all and brought them in some money. After a few hours of searching we didn't see Karu at all so I started to walk into the forest with Tobi at my heels. I stopped at a certain area and looked at the trees with slash marks in them.

*Flash Back*

Kakashi took us out to the forest and stopped a little further in and started to tell us what our training was.

"Tree climbing," Kakashi said.

"Sounds boring," Naruto said with an are you kidding me look.

"What kind of training is that?" Sakura asked with the same look.

"Well listen until the end. This isn't normal tree climbing. You'll climb without using your hands."

"Sounds fun!" Naruto shouted.

*End*

"Ah the memories," I thought.

It was starting to get late so I turned to Tobi.

"Tobi take off your cloak,"

"WHY???"

"Because people might know who we are now take off your cloak." I demanded.

He took off his cloak and I put both cloaks in my bag. We started to walk down a familiar path to a familiar house. When we reached the house I knocked on the door. We waited for a few minutes and someone opened the door. It was Tsumani, she looked exactly the same.

"Can I help you?" She asked.

"Yes, my friend and I need a place to stay and we were wondering if you had any spare rooms." I said calmly.

"Ummm I'm not sure,"

"Well some of my old friends told me about you and your family. They're leaf ninja and their sensei is Kakashi."

"Oh you know Kakashi, Sasuke, Sakura, Naruto, and Mariah?" She asked.

"Yeah, they're acquaintances but when they came back from the mission they said a lot."

"Oh please come in, any friends of the leaf are friends of ours." She said opening the door more.

We stepped in the house and I saw Tazuna and Inari sitting at the table. Tazuna looked the same but Inari had gotten taller and looked more mature. They both looked up at us with questioning eyes.

"Who are these two Tsunami?" Tazuna asked.

"They're friends of Naruto's and they needed a place to stay. They're uh, oh I'm sorry but I don't know your names." She said.

"Oh where are my manors, this is Tobi and I'm Yumi." I said.

"Well It's very nice to meet you both, I'm Tsunami, that is my father Tazuna and my son Inari over at the table."

"Pleasure to meet you." I bowed.

"Oh so how are those leaf ninja?" Tazuna asked.

"Um well I haven't seen them in a while but I believe that they're fine." I replied calmly.

"Well that's good, have they grown at all?"

"Well I know that Sakura and Naruto have. Both of them are very strong, but I haven't seen Sasuke in ages neither Mariah but I'm guessing that they're strong."

"How is Naruto?" Inari asked.

"Damn his voice got deeper," I thought.

"He's grown on the outside but defiantly not the inside. He's very strong."

We all chatted for a few hours and they showed Tobi and I to the guest room. Tobi set up his bed and I set up mine. Right when Tobi's head hit the pillow he was out like a light. I started to think about the last time we were here.

*Flash Back again!*

After a few days of living at Tazuna's house I was minding my own business eating then someone threw something at me.

"Who threw that?" I demanded.

"Kakashi-sensei," everyone said in unison.

"You have to be on your guard at all times. Just in case someone throws something at you."

"Psh,"

Then Sakura pointed out a picture and they explained the whole story with Inari and his dad.

"So that's why he's so messed up," I said.

"What do you mean Mariah?" Sakura asked.

"Well think about it. He saw his father die in front of him for no reason at all. It messed up his child hood. That kind of stuff scars a kid for life and changes them permanently. It's traumatizing especially for a non ninja kid like him." I concluded.

It was silent for a while then I heard someone get up then fall.

"Naruto what are you doing?" Sakura questioned.

"If you're thinking of training, take the day off. You've released too much chakra, anymore and you could die." Kakashi scolded.

"I'm going to prove it." Naruto said.

"What?" Sakura asked.

"I'm going to prove that in this world heroes do exist!" He said leaving.

That night I was walking to my room ready to go to bed. I felt someone walking towards me.

"Yes?" I asked.

"What do you know about your parents dying in front you? Why would you say that like it was nothing! You don't know how it feels?" He yelled at me.

"Why should I tell you?" I said heading to my room.

"Because I have a right to know."

"No you don't, I don't want you to know anything about me. I don't trust you." I told him closing my door.

*End*

I chuckled at those memories. We were so care free and stupid back then but now it's completely different. The whole world thinks I'm dead, Sasuke has gone crazy and went to the man I hate the most, Naruto well he's just Naruto and trains non stop, and as for Sakura she just.............I don't even know.

The next flash back wasn't a pleasant one really.

* NEXT!*

"This is all your fault Mariah. Sasuke would still be alive if you fought with them." She hissed.

            "He did his job as a shinobi Sakura. He risked his life for another person. Plus you could've helped him. I could have protected the bridge builder while you help them fight."

*END*

I was so heartless back then. Sasuke could've died and it would've been all my fault. How could I say that with no emotion? I soon realized that it was morning so I went down stairs to eat breakfast.

When I reached the kitchen I saw everyone there except for Tobi of course.

"Good morning Yumi," Tsunami greeted. "How did you sleep?"

"Morning, I slept fine thank you." I replied.

"Where's your friend?"

"He's still sleeping; he likes to sleep in."

"Ah just like Naruto," Tazuna said.

"Well after breakfast I think that we need to go, we have a mission to fulfill." I said.

"Aw so soon? What's your mission, may be can help."

"Have you heard of a man named Karu?"

They all gasped.

"Yes, he's a thief. He's been breaking into people's houses and stealing money." Inari said.

"Where's the last place he was spotted?"

"He was last seen going into the forest not too far from here." Tsunami said.

"Why are you looking for him?" Tazuna questioned.

"We need to capture and question him,"

"Well I hope that we helped a little."

"Yes, you did."

The Tobi came down stairs and we all started to eat. My gaze went from my food to Tobi.

"He's acting strange. He hasn't said a word since we entered the house and I know that he isn't shy." I thought remembering when he first came to the Akatsuki.

*Flash back*

It was the 7th month since I joined the Akatsuki and leader has summoned us in the living room.

"Now that you're all here, I want to introduce someone. He will be an assistant to us but if one of you dies then he will take your place."

Then a man with a swirly orange mask that covered his whole face and had one eye hole in it, and spiky hair ran in. He stood next to Pein and was jumping in excitement. We all glanced at each other in confusion.

"HI I'M TOBI!" He yelled excitingly.

"......................................................................................"

"TOBI IS GLAD TO BE IN THE AKATSUKI!"

I was already starting to get a headache.

"I'll let you get acquainted."Pein said leaving.

"Please let this be a joke," I muttered.

"I think it's not," Deidara said next to me.

"WHAT ARE ALL YOUR NAMES?!"

We all sighed in annoyance. Then said our names down the line that we were in.

"Kazuku,"

"Hidan,"

"Zetsu,"

"Kisame,"

"Itachi,"

"Mariah,"

"Deidara,"

"Sasori,"

Tobi then ran right towards me.

"Oooohhhh you're sooooo pretty Mariah-chan!" He shouted stopping right in front of me.

I sweat dropped. Everyone started to snicker, even Itachi.

"Uh.......................................................thanks?"

He then attempted to give me a hug but I activated my shield.

"AW MARIAH-CHAN! DON'T BE SO COLD!" Tobi pouted.

*END*

"Yumi, are you okay?" Tsunami asked.

"Uh, yeah sorry I was just thinking." I said finishing my breakfast.

I stood up.

"I think we should be going and continue our mission." I said looking at Tobi.

"Alright, stop by anytime." Tsunami said waving us off.

Tobi and I then left to the forest looking for Karu.

"Tobi, you're not acting like yourself." I said.

"Tobi is fine, Tobi is just thinking."

"I don't think so, but whatever."

After a few hours of walking I spotted Karu sitting on a tree branch. I snuck up behind him and attached chakra strings to him. When they were secure I held a kunai to his neck. He tensed and tried to move but he couldn't because of the strings.

"Who are you?" He questioned.

"The Akatsuki," I said.

He tensed even more and couldn't move.

"Wh-what do you want?"

"What information do you have on the Akatsuki?"

"I'll never tell you, now release me!"

"No, tell me now."

"At least show me who you are."

I appeared in front of him and of course he looked me over up and down checking me out. I sighed.

"My my aren't you beautiful? Now if I recall, you're name is Mariah Kira. I thought she was dead but when I found out I was surprised. Just wait until everyone hears."

I rolled my eyes and pressed the kunai closer to his neck.

"Did you tell anyone?"

"No, but I was going to tell the leaf and that would mean that you'd get pissed and come looking for me. Ever since I saw your picture I've always wanted to meet you. May I say Mariah, you are just too beautiful to be in the Akatsuki."

"Give it a rest Karu, I'm going to kill you."

"Aw why don't you let me live and leave the Akatsuki and live with me. I can make you pretty happy."

"Ew, well since you're just flirting and not telling me what I want to know I'm going to kill you."

"Well at least I get to be killed by someone as beautiful as you." He said.

I rolled my eyes and slit his throat with my kunai; he died instantly. I jumped down from the tree next to Tobi and started to walk away.

"Uh I hate men like that." I mumbled.

"Well Mariah-chan you're just so pretty!" Tobi squealed.

"Sometimes I wish I wasn't," I said heading up to two familiar graves.

I knelt down in front of them and placed a flower on top of both of them. I held out my hand and out of ice I made a heart and put it between the stones. I stood up and we started to leave the land of waves.
