Chapter 3 - The truth
Chapter three
We eventually got outside and can I just say... Wow.
The back garden was beautiful. It was beautifully lit and there was a humungous pool. How I wanted to dive in right there and then.
God, the last time I'd swam was with... Oh right.. With him. By 'him' I mean my ex boyfriend Oliver. He was a jerk. A real one.
I could see lights hanging down across the lampposts next the pool side and I saw the lawn neatly cut. Trevor sat down on a bathing chair and closed his eyes.
It was peaceful.
"You know you could've-"
"Shh."
"You could've said to me before-"
"Shhh."
"That your parents-"
"Shhhh."
I grabbed his collar making his eyes shoot open.
"You shush me one more time and your going to wish you hadn't." I warned him and he just smirked at me.
I swear I could've punched him if I wanted to.
"You should've told me they said your next girlfriend was going to be your next fiancée."
"But then you definitely wouldn't of helped me out."
"I didn't want to help you out before! You forced me by picking me up against my will and making me be your f*cking girlfriend! Now they think I'm gonna be your f*cking fiancée!" I screamed releasing him.
"I'm not that bad Melanie. Besides, your looking so hot angry in that tight dress. It hugs your curves a lot." He winked at me.
"That's it! I'm out of here!" I yelled and made a bee line for the door. Next thing I knew I was picked up again and made contact with something. I heard whooshing sounds and started sinking.
He did not.
He f*cking didn't.
I started kicking to reach the surface and he stared at me smirking.
He f*cking did.
I went to the side where he was and he looked down.
"Help me out now you d*ck." I told him and he reached his hand down. I grabbed it and pulled it making him splash into the pool. I walked to the stairs and he resurfaced when I got out. I smirked at him.
I started walking towards the door and opened it. I walked over towards the front door.
"Melanie your soaking!" His mom exclaimed shocked.
"Yep. Blame that idiotic son of yours. Also to make things right, I never was his girlfriend. He just saved me from being potentionally raped by one of his dipsh*t friends. He wanted me to do him a favour and I said no to lying to you guys, but he made me do it. Forgive my rudeness but I'll be leaving."
"Melanie wait dear. I forgive you but I can't let you go out in wet clothing. Come on, let's go get you sorted." She said extending her hand for me to take which I did thankfully.
"John I'll let you deal with him for now. I'll be down when I'm done with helping Melanie."
~~~~
"Thank you for helping me. He just threw me into the pool as I tried to leave him." I thanked her once again.
"It's no problem dear. I've always wanted a daughter and it feels like I finally got one."
"Is Trevor your only child then?"
"In some sort."
"In some sort?"
"I had a miscarriage after he was born. He would've got a twin sister. I don't know why the reason was but she came out as a blue baby and didn't make it. They weren't able to save her." Tears were forming in her eyes.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to bring it up." I felt guilty. It was horrible hearing that.
"It's fine. You didn't know. It's normal to ask questions. For once I actually thought that Trevor had found himself a nice suitable girl for him and his future. I'm sorry he dragged you into this tonight. I'll be sure to have words with him."
"It's fine I guess," I started thinking about what she said and what she's done for me. She didn't have to let me borrow some clothes, let me use her shower or let me stay for the night been so it was too dark to walk alone, but she did.
"How bad did you want him to have a fiancée?" I asked curiously.
"Pretty badly. I thought it would make him not be as jerky as he is. That somehow having a fiancée would make him act like an adult."
"Then I'll be his fiancée."
The words just slipped out. I couldn't stop them and I couldn't slap my hand to my mouth cause it'll be obvious I didn't mean it.
Obviously I didn't mean it but you never know. Plus she wanted him to be a gentleman so bad I actually felt motivation to help out.
"You're sure?" She asked.
"Yeah, I mean like it's going to be a challenge but I could make a difference in his life."
"Thank you Melanie. This is a real big thing of you to do. Shall we go down then?"
"Sure." I smiled at her happiness.
We got up and walked out to the stairs. I started thinking of how they'll react. Trevor would probably smirk and his dad... Well I don't know about him.
We walked down the stairs and his dad stopped talking instantly and looked up to his wife.
"We have some news John." His mom stated.
Trevor was sat on the coach smirking at me already and I think he knows what we were going to say.
"Melanie has decided to become his fiancée." His mom said.
"What?" His dad asked and Trevor's smirk faded away.
"Why the change?" Trevor asked.
"I'm going to make you try to be the gentlemen you should be."
"Really? I wish you good luck to that then sweetheart." He smirked and got up walking past me.
"Thanks." I told him smirking back myself.
It threw him off and he glared at me then walked up the stairs and slammed a door. Probably his own room door.
