Interdimensional cop
Consciousness slowly came back to Megan, her senses were slowly being regained, first she started to feel the coldness of the room, and before she had even opened her eyes she realised she standing up right.
She opened her eyes slowly and the room seemed to spin as she attempted to pull her arms to her sides.
Still quite lightheaded, she glanced up to see her arms were restrained above her head to one of the pipes on the ceiling of the dimly lit room.
There was very little noise, she couldn't hear any distant thoughts, nor could she hear anyones, aside from her own.
After so long, hearing so much, the silence was already driving her mad, all she could hear was a very quiet breeze seeping under the door of the room.
Her throat was dry and she could tell her lips were cracked but still she attempted to yell, her voice came out strained but evidently someone heard her because a pair of heels came clicking down the hall almost immediately after she had screamed.
The steps stopped right outside of the door, all she could make out for a bit after that was a word or two of the muffled conversation going on outside the door, nothing more.
Drowsiness was starting to get to her again, with that her eyelids fluttered closed.
Almost as soon as she started to drift off to sleep again, the door opened, drowning the room in bright light, immediately jolting her awake again.
When her eyes adjusted again she realised it was Amanda Waller who had walked into the room, "Miss Carter, glad to see you're finally awake and coherent enough to speak to me, hopefully you'll be civil about it." She said.
Megan did not reply, "Okay, then at least listen to me," Amanda started, Megan just adverted her gaze to the ground her feet were only slightly touching the rough surface below her, "I know what you do, what you can do, and if you'll just agree to a few tests, we'll let you go back to seducing billionaires." Amanda bargained.
Of course Megan's powers weren't working, probably because of the headpieces everyone seemed to be wearing, but she knew a lie when she heard one, so she did what any reasonable person would do, "Bite me bitch." She laughed.
Oh, did I say what any reasonable person would do? Sorry, I lied.
Unfortunately for Amanda, she was a bit too close when Megan told her that, Megan was fully aware of her surroundings by this time so she knew what she was doing.
Megan brought her legs up and wrapped them around Amanda's waist forcing her closer, and with one quick motion, Megan headbutted her with all the force she could muster.
Amanda forced her way out of Megan's Venus thigh trap almost immediately, when Megan looked up she seen the blood gushing from Amanda's nose and she just smiled at the woman in front of her.
What Megan didn't realise was that her defiance would lead to being extremely tortured.

The events of the next two weeks included water boarding, vial after vial of blood being removed to be tested, eletro shocks, starvation, and extreme dehydration, nearly to the point of death, well, she was hoping for death anyway.
Two weeks after that were filled with noise deprivation, between the attempts to literally scare her into becoming an Argus agent.
Well, it was actually a bunch of tests, scanning her brain waves, heart rate, and other things of the such, when she was under stress or using her powers, of the things they forced into her room, she didn't use her powers to control any of them, because she knew that was exactly what they wanted her to do, and she wasn't about to give them what they wanted
Released into the room with her on multiple occasions were mice, spiders, snakes, rats, and various other garden variety bugs, the usual things from which women are known to be the most afraid, but she wasn't one of those women.
On the fifth week she realised the powers she hadn't used for so long were basically buzzing in her mind, she started to be able to hear whispers of thoughts, ones that had to be pretty far away, considering they were such specific thoughts about random places and monuments.
They were wearing her down with the many different strategies, but her willpower was enough keep her half sane while she endured such truly unbearable pain at the hands of the Argus agents under Amanda's authority.
Finally when the sixth week came, she couldn't take it anymore, the distant whispers became screams in her head, she knew inside that it was a side effect of going so long without using her powers, it had to be.
Another day, another round of pain had come to her, electrical torture on this day, halfway through the session a thought came to her, it was of someone she read about on the day she hid in the room with so many files scattered here and there, Breacher.
"Breacher, get me away from here!" Instead of thinking it, she screamed it over the crackling of electricity that was sweeping over her body and scorching the ends of her tangled hair.
Suddenly a surge of power blew through the room and the floor disappeared under her, replaced by dark metal only visible by the crack above her that light poured in through.
Her hands were no longer suspended above her, but she was freely moving, and without being shocked anymore.
The first thing she did was pull the IV from her arm, the second was stand, well attempt to stand, she fumbled for the wall beside her, met only by more metal as she stumbled before she finally found her footing.
Soon enough she realised she was in a very tall dumpster and when she shoved the lid open, she seen it was indeed night outside of the very stinky metal box.
Attempt after attempt to get out of the dumpster failed, "The one time being small isn't a positive thing." She mumbled as she grabbed the side of the bin and attempted to pull herself out once again.
Yet again she fell back into the dumpster, "I can buy shoes in the kids section," she grumbled as she jumped up, trying to straddle the ledge again, only to fall back in almost immediately.
"I can crawl into air ducts and small cabinets." She said as she kicked the wall of the bin with her metal foot, "But I can't get out of a fucking dumpster!" She screamed at the sky above her.
Finally she gave up the fight to get out and started to concentrate on the voices she heard around her, still loud, but not as unbearable as they were in the Argus prison.
"Wait, how the hell did I get out of there?" She asked herself when she started to think of the Argus prison.
She soon fell asleep wondering about Argus, about her home, and most of all where the hell she was.

The next morning she was awoken by someone nudging her shoulder, "Hey you." His voice was extremely gruff when he spoke.
She opened her eyes to see the man called Breacher leaning over her and she was no longer laying trapped in the dumpster, "You're Breacher." She struggled to form the words because of the scratchy throat she had but he knew what she was saying somehow anyway.
At first he just nodded his head then walked over to a stack of crates where a bottle of water was sitting and grabbed it, "You know me, but I don't know you." He replied as he walked back to hand her the bottle, careful not to touch her skin even with his gloves on.
Eagerly she took his offering of water and almost immediately the bottle was empty, "I'm gonna be honest with you Breacher, I've had a lot of names, in that Argus place they kept calling me 'Mindfreak' because of my powers." She sheepishly admitted.
"Well that's a stupid name," he started, "I shouldn't do this but I seen what they were doing to you, they'll keep trying to catch you and eventually they will, when they do they'll start all over again, so I'm getting you away from here." He said as he helped her to her feet.

Back at her home:
"Thankfully I always pay the rent two months in advance." She joked as she opened the door to her home.
After entering her home she headed to the bathroom to get cleaned up before Breacher helped her get away.
Breacher was still standing in the kitchen doorway, guarding the front door.
While quickly gathered her things, the two metahumans spoke, about their powers mostly, Breacher told her how he has a job to keep people from traveling through dimensions.
"If you're like an interdimensional cop, then why are you helping me by doing the one thing you're supposed to keep people from doing?" She asked him finally as she gathered the last bit of her things.
He was silent for a bit, making Megan a bit uneasy, "You remind me of my daughter, she's probably even around your age, but if she were in your shoes, I'd want someone to keep her out of danger too." He finally explained.
As they were walking out the door he tossed her a granola bar, "You should eat something before we get you to Earth 616." He suggested.
Authors note:
I know, this update is well overdue, but it's here, it's edited, have fun with it.
Breacher may seem a bit out of character but I imagine he would be very caring underneath that gruff, tough guy exterior, especially when he wants to help someone out that really needs it.
Also, the reference 'Venus thigh trap' will also be explained later in the book just like the 'Woohoo dart' no worries.
