CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT
"GIRL MEETS GOODBYE"
(primrose's outfit for this part of the chapter)
Primrose couldn't believe that it was possible the Matthews could be leaving. She didn't want them to leave, they all were like a second family to her, but she understood why they would leave. She is currently at school in the history classroom and by the sad or sympathetic looks on everyone's faces she knew she wasn't the only one upset about Riley and her family possibly moving.
Riley and Maya walk into the classroom a few seconds later. Maya walks to sit down in her seat and Riley was going to do the same, but stops when she notices everyone's expressions. She shakes her head. "Wow, so much emotion. Why is everybody so emotional when nothing's happening?"
"If nothing is happening then why is that on the board?" Primrose gestured to the board where 'Belgium 1831' was written and she frowned. Riley looked at her with confusion and then turned her attention to the board as a frown formed on her lips.
"Belgium 1831." Cory speaks. "The Netherlands was a group of friendly states who thought they'd stay together forever..."
Maya's eyes widen. "Uh oh."
"Belgium 1831 is us." Farkle explained.
"Until Belgium made the decision it was time to go." Cory finished.
"Stupid Belgium." Primrose muttered as her lips formed into a pout.
"Uh oh." Maya frowns and turns to face Smackle, pointing at the dark-haired girl. "Smackle, do something!"
Smackle looks at her with a panicked expression. "What do I do?"
"You-"
"Ask important questions!" Riley finished Maya's sentence.
Farkle nods. "He erases it if you ask important questions!"
"Gotcha." Smackle nods and she stands up. "Why are we here?" She awkwardly asks, outstretching her arms. "What is the meaning of love? Is there a destiny that shapes our ends? What's the deal with artificial intelligence? If it's artificial, can it be intelligent? Yes." She sat down after she was done talking.
Primrose looked at her friend with an amused smile. She had to admit Smackle did a good job with coming up with important questions. But it seemed like trying to stop their teacher from talking about Belgium 1831 was inevitable.
"It was decided that Belgium would no longer be part of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands, but its own independent country." Cory continues. "Belgium was free."
"Did people visit it?" Riley questioned in a hopeful tone.
Cory looks at her with raised eyebrows. "People like who?"
"Belgium's friends." Riley responds, her eyes getting teary. "Did they visit it or did they forget her like Kerri Ableson?"
Primrose furrows her eyebrows, her voice laced with confusion as she speaks. "Kerri Ableson?"
"Oh, yeah." Farkle nods. "What ever happened to Kerri?"
Riley glances at him. "She moved across the-"
"I don't care." Farkle interrupts her. "She's gone."
"At that point, Belgium was no longer part of a group, but its own sovereign nation..." Cory explains. "Ready to meet the world on its own terms."
"What if it wasn't ready yet?" Riley inquired.
"What if none of us are ready for this?" Lucas questioned. Primrose had to agree with him. She wasn't ready to face the world on her own. She wasn't ready for Riley to leave. She didn't want Riley to leave.
Riley looks back at Lucas with a bit of surprise. He looks at her with a frown and gestures between them. "I'm not ready for this, Riley."
"So, Belgium 1831 was gonna be about our own freedom when we left this place?" Farkle asked.
Cory nods and smiles. "That was my plan. But sometimes, things happen in life earlier than they're supposed to."
"So," Zay speaks up. "What do we do?"
"We do our best." Cory replies. "Like we've always done. We leave our good mark and we hope that people remember us fondly."
Riley turns to face her friends with a sad smile. "I did my best. I hope that you remember me fondly."
"I'll remember you fondly." A girl spoke up.
Primrose glances in the direction she heard the voice, furrowing her eyebrows at the brunette-haired girl. There was something about the girl that seemed familiar to her she just couldn't explain why. "Thank you." Riley smiles at the girl and then looks at her with confusion. "Who are you?"
The brunette-haired girl looks at her in disbelief. "Kerri Ableson."
Primrose's eyes widen. That made more sense as to why the girl looked familiar to her. She, Riley, Maya, and Kerri used to be good friends. But then Kerri moved across the street and for some reason things changed. Riley looks at Primrose and Maya with a worried look. "Oh no."
Primrose grew more worried because if they just forgot about Kerri since she moved across the street, she feared they might not remember Riley if she's moving to England.

"How is a decision like this made?" Cory asks the class later that day at school. "Is it tougher to leave something you love or stay when you could be missing an opportunity?"
"Well, that depends." Zay responded.
Cory points at him. "On what, Mr. Babineaux?"
"What you're leaving behind." Zay answered.
Cory nods and looks at the rest of the class. "Anybody else?"
"To be fair," Lucas chimes in. "I think it's important to know what's waiting for you wherever you're going."
"Right." Cory agrees. "Lucas and Zay and Primrose all left someplace they loved."
Primrose smiles sadly upon remembering when she left New York to move to Texas and when she left Texas to move back to New York. She really did love Texas. If she hadn't moved to Texas then she might've not met Lucas and Zay. But things just weren't the same being in Texas. Although she made new friends, she was away from her best friends, and the rest of her family.
"They were right to love Texas." Riley comments, looking at the three teens her dad mentioned with a smile. "We had the best time there."
Lucas nods, gesturing to himself and Zay. "And we had the best time here."
"I've had the best time in both places." Primrose admits. "But nothing beats being in the place where all the people you love are at."
"So Belgium left the United Kingdom of the Netherlands, then what happened?" Farkle inquired.
"Everybody was happy forever." Riley quickly answers. "The end." Primrose sent her a sympathetic smile, knowing that she wasn't right, but she wished Riley was right about the situation they're in.
Cory chuckles lightly. "Okay. Anyone else want to try?"
"The United Kingdoms of the Netherlands completely fell apart." Maya responded and Primrose glanced at her with surprise. She didn't think the blonde would know the answer.
Cory looks at the blonde with surprise as well and then smiles. "Maya, you look something up?"
"No." Maya shakes her head. "I didn't have to. You don't really have to be smart to know what's coming." She points at Farkle. "It's Farkle who's been smart. It's Farkle who's wanted to know what Belgium 1831 was ever since it went up on the board." She smiles. "It's Farkle who's always loved us and tried to protect us." She stood up and walked over to Farkle to kiss him on the cheek.
Farkle's eyes widen and Primrose watches with an amused smile when he fell out of his chair. Maya glances at Primrose with an apologetic expression. "Sorry, Rosie."
Primrose looks at her with a small smile and chuckles. "It's okay, Maya."
"Riley," Cory says to his daughter, looking at her with a smile when she looked at him with worried eyes. "I know your mother. I know she'll seek out the advice of everyone close to her. I know she'll listen to what we have to say. And I know her decision will be the right one."
"No matter what it is?" Riley asked in a quiet tone.
Cory nods. "No matter what it is, we go with her."
****
Primrose was now standing between her two best friends, anxiously waiting to find out who could possibly be in the Matthews' apartment. She figured Topanga would be talking with the people close to her today and she wondered who those people consisted of.
"So, mom will listen to the people she cares about before she decides?" Riley questioned.
Cory smiles. "She's probably doing it right now."
Primrose grinned, happy to know that she was right about Topanga currently talking to the people she cares about. She turned to the door with the other two girls and Riley is the one to open the door. Primrose's eyes widened at seeing the group of familiar people in the Matthews' apartment and then she smiled widely. She doesn't think she ever seen all of these people in the same room at the same time before
There was Primrose's mom, Cory's and Topanga's best friend Shawn and Maya's mom (who's now Shawn's wife), Katy, Harley Keiner who's a good friend of Cory and Topanga, Cory's parents and siblings, Stuart who's Farkle's dad, Jonathan Turner a family friend of the Matthews who's also the superintendent of the school. And last but not least, George Feeny, a teacher who used to teach the older Matthews boys, Topanga, and Shawn.
Riley smiles nervously at everyone. "Hi."
Primrose grins and nods to herself. "This is gonna be interesting."
****
Riley, Maya, and Primrose sat on the couch near where Katy and Shawn stood by the end of it. Primrose was between Riley and Maya, looking at Topanga curiously. "Mom?" Riley questioned, glancing at her with a small smile.
"Yeah." Topanga smiles. "Big decision, and I wanted some advice. Who better to give us advice than..." She gestures to everyone in the room. "These people who've all loved each other forever?" She then went to take a seat on the couch beside Maya.
Primrose raises her eyebrows upon seeing Eric stepping away from the couch and now he was standing across from where Mr. Feeny sat. Eric turns around, glancing over his shoulder at Mr. Feeny with a smirk. He moon walks half way before he turns back around to face Mr. Feeny and raises his eyebrows at him. Primrose glanced at Mr. Feeny and chuckled when she saw he wasn't amused by Eric. She had a feeling Mr. Feeny was used to Eric and his craziness by now.
Eric walks forward a few more steps and then stops. "Fa-ha-ha..." He whispers. "Fa-ha-hay..." Mr. Feeny gestures for him to just get on with it. "Fa-ha-ha..." Eric pauses and stares down at the floor, taking a deep breath. He looks back at Mr. Feeny and exclaims, "I'm not talking to you!"
"And I'm not talking to you." Mr. Feeny responded.
Eric leans forward. "Fine."
Mr. Feeny leans forward as well. "Double fine."
Eric's eyes widen and he points at Mr. Feeny. "I taught you that!"
"And I taught you everything else." Mr. Feeny reminded him.
"Then why don't I know anything?!" Eric yelled and Primrose had to cover her mouth to stifle a laugh.
Eric walks over to his sister(s) and they high five each other. "Hey, Morgan. Hey, Morgan." He walked over to stand by his brothers.
Josh smiles at his older brothers. "My brothers!" He gestures to Morgan with a smile still on his face. "My sister!"
"Yeah, you know, we haven't all been in the same place together for a long time." Cory spoke.
"I don't think we've ever been in the same place together." The brunette Morgan chimed in.
The blonde Morgan beside her shakes her head. "No."
"Okay," Topanga speaks up, gaining everyone's attention. "We're gonan do this one at a time."
****
First up was Shawn and Katy. Everyone left the room besides the three girls, Riley's parents, and Shawn and Katy.
"Alright, look," Shawn starts. "As much as I'd hate it if you guys went anywhere, when we left Philadelphia to come to New York, that worked. If we didn't do that," He glances at Katy with a smile. "I never would have met Katy." Katy smiles at him. "If we didn't do that, I-" Shawn takes ahold of Katy's hand and the two smile at each other. "I wouldn't be happy."
Primrose and her best friends smile at the couple. "We wouldn't have Maya." Shawn continued, glancing at Maya and smiled at her.
"Oh," Maya's eyes widen. "Guys, I'm not actually your daughter though-"
Katy gets up from sitting on the arm of the chair to stand beside Shawn. She looks at Maya with a smile as she interrupts the blonde. "I'll never forget when we first saw you in the hospital delivery room."
"Wow," Maya puts a hand over her heart. "I'd really love to rewrite history, but-"
"History is history." Cory cut in. "First thing you have to know to teach History."
Primrose almost forgot that Jonathan Turner had stayed in the living room until he spoke. "Matthews," Jonathan gets up from the chair he sat on and walks over to stand by Cory. "As your former English teacher, I say let 'em write what they want to."
Shawn lets go of Katy's hand and steps forward so he's standing across from Jonathan. He smiles. "Hey, Jon."
Jonathan smiles and walks over to stand in front of him. "Hey, Shawn." While they hug each other Cory sat next to his wife on the couch. Jonathan glances at Katy with a smile. "Hey, Shawn's wife." Katy grins at him. "Boy, that makes me so happy saying that." Jonathan commented while he and Shawn pulled away from the hug.
Jonathan grins at Katy. "Hey, Shawn's wife!"
Katy laughs and stands beside Shawn, linking her arm through his. "Hey. Thank you for everything that you've done to help make Shawn who he is."
"Yeah..." Jonathan shrugs. He smiles. "I'll never forget the time I saw him in that hospital delivery room." Shawn chuckled at his comment.
"Okay, crazy people." Riley speaks up. "You can't just make life how you want it."
"Yeah." Topanga agrees. "Things happen. Like our decision that you guys are going to help us with." She points at herself and demands, "Us now!"
"She's right." Shawn nods. "This has-this has nothing to do with us. Just gonna..." Katy takes her arm away from him to let him step forward and he hands Maya the papers he held. "Leave that there." Primrose eyed the folder curiously and glanced at Riley, sharing a confused look with her.
"What-" Maya furrows her eyebrows and then her eyes widen when she glances at the papers she held. "Hey!" As he stands beside Katy, Shawn glances at her with raised eyebrows. Primrose looks at the paper Maya is reading along with Riley, her eyes widening in surprise. She then smiled widely, happy that Shawn wanted to adopt Maya.
"You want to adopt me?" Maya asked.
Riley and Primrose look at each other with grins and they both excitedly exclaim, "Yay!"
Maya points at them. "I don't know how I feel about this." She then joins the two girls on excitedly exclaiming, "Yay!" Katy and Shawn smiled at the three best friends.
"You know, Maya, I talked with Shawn and your mom about this." Jonathan explains, smiling at the blonde teen. He looks at Shawn. "I always regretted that I never adopted Shawn." Shawn looked at him with surprise and then smiled.
"Well," Cory stands up and faces Shawn. "You know, my parents tried to adopt Shawn, but he preferred to stay a street urchin."
Shawn rolls his eyes at him and he looks at Maya. "I know this is a difficult decision to make."
"I'll tell you what's a difficult decision." Topanga said, glaring at Shawn. "Ours!"
Shawn points at her. "Yeah, can you hold your little Topanga horses?" Topanga looks at him with offense. Shawn ignores her and looks at Maya with a reassuring smile. "Take all the time you need."
Maya looks back at the papers in front of her with a wide smile. "I'm Maya Hunter." Primrose smiled, putting a comforting hand on Maya's arm. Maya exchanged a smile with her before she stood up and hugged Shawn. Katy then joined in on the hug.
They pull away from the hug and Maya looks at Shawn with a smile. "Da-dad-daddy...Dad...Daddy...dad..." She keeps trying it out to see how it is, the smile never leaving her face. She takes a deep breath, finally being able to say it. "Hey, dad?"
Shawn smiles at her. "Yeah?"
"I'm sorry." Maya apologized.
Shawn furrows his eyebrows. "For what?"
"For everything I'm gonna do." Maya replies. She points at the Matthews. "Oh, and I'm going with them to London." She quickly adds. "And so is Rosie." Primrose nodded in agreement when Shawn and Katy looked at her for confirmation.
"Yeah, she is!" Riley smiles, wrapping her arm around Primrose's shoulders and the British girl smiles. "Her parents don't know that yet," Riley explains. She shrugs. "But they don't have to know."
"Let Maya go with us!" Primrose pleaded, looking at Shawn and Katy with a hopeful expression.
"Yes, let her!" Riley agrees. She grins. "You won't miss her, you just got her!"
****
Next people they talked to were Cory's parents. "We can only give you our parents' advice." Alan Matthews, Cory's dad, said. He sits on the arm chair of the couch beside where his son is sitting. "We raised you to be good people and we know that you will make your best decision."
"But then you leave." Amy Matthews, Cory's mom, chimes in. "You leave for college, you leave for New York," She walks over to the other side of the couch and sits beside Riley. "And now you're gonna fly across the ocean," She frowns, wrapping her arm around Riley and Riley wraps her arm around her grandma. "And take away my grandchildren."
Primrose pouts and leans into Riley, wrapping her arms around her. She smiles when Amy wraps her arm around her as well. "Don't forget us!"
"Yeah," Maya nods in agreement, wrapping her arms around her too and Amy does her best to wrap her arm around her too. "Us too, us too."
****
Morgan was next person they talked to. The brunette Morgan sat on the bench of the kitchen table next to Auggie with her arm wrapped around him and was looking at him with a sympathetic expression.
"Tell them not to take us away, Aunt Morgan." Auggie pleaded.
"I know what it's like to be the youngest in the family." Morgan admits and she takes her arm off of Auggie when he faces her. "You think nobody is listening to you or your ideas but they are. You're very important, and they'll take everything you say into consideration."
"How can I be sure that everything is gonna be okay?" Auggie asked.
Morgan smiles. "Because life knows that in order to be the best person you can be sometimes its good to stay, sometimes you gotta go." She raised her hand and the blonde Morgan walked out from the hallway and high fived her.
They switch places and she smiles at Auggie. "I was once the youngest, just like you."
Auggie looks at everyone else with wide eyes. "Is there gonna be another me?"
Primrose chuckles at his question. "Too late." Riley replies, looking at her brother with an amused smile. "Just you."
"Good." Auggie nodded.
"Just know that your parents are gonna make the right decision for you." Morgan continues. "They always do. Trust them. They'll listen to you. Being the youngest is really important." She elbows him and smiles. "You're the one they hold on to."
The brunette Morgan walks over and sits beside the right side of Auggie. "Or not."
****
"You don't need me for this." Mr. Feeny sighed.
Cory nods. "Of course we do. You've always given us our best advice. What do you got for us now?"
"London...The city of Shakespeare and Dickens." Mr. Feeny smiles. "I think you'll flourish there just as you flourished here."
Topanga smiles a bit. "You're telling us to go?"
Mr. Feeny sighs. "I told you to go to Yale, too." He chuckles. "Why didn't you?"
"I got a better offer." Topanga responded.
Mr. Feeny nods. "And now you have another. And I'm sure you'll choose wisely because you were always the best test-taker." Topanga grinned.
Cory looks at Mr. Feeny with confusion. "What about me?"
Mr. Feeny shakes his head, gesturing to Cory. "Don't listen to him."
****
Primrose glances at the door to the Matthews' apartment when it opens, revealing Eric. She furrows her eyebrows when he limps inside and closes teh door behind him. He limps over to where everyone was in the kitchen area and grins. "I just got hit by the subway."
Primrose looks at him with furrowed eyebrows. "How are you still alive?"
Eric looks at her and tilts his head to the side. He nods. "That's a very good question I don't have an answer to." He looks everyone with a smile. "Okay, so what's the problem?"
"Mom got a job offer in England." Riley replied.
A shocked look forms on Eric's face. "What?!" He shouts. "Who's gonna play Topanga?" He raises his hand and grins. "Wait a second, I can play Topanga."
"Eric!" Topanga scolded him and Eric mocked her.
Eric grins. "Perfect."
Topanga rolls her eyes at him. "Are you gonna surprise us with incredible advice out of your idiot mouth or not?"
"I am, yes." Eric nods. "Thank you. Now, listen, when I was elected Senator in two-thousand-aught-fifteen, I've come to realize that what might be a clear decision for some is not so clear for me."
Primrose raises her eyebrows. "That was supposed to be the incredible advice?"
Eric sighs and looks at Topanga. "Look, listen to your heart. Your heart is what's gonna tell you what to do. And then go and find your favorite quiet place." He smiles. "Mine is under the ocean."
Primrose shakes her head, looking at him in disbelief. "Seriously, how are you still alive?"
Eric points at her and narrows his eyes at her. "Little Flower, I'm not appreciating your mean words."
"What?" Primrose scoffs. "They're not mean! I'm just asking a question that I'll probably never understand."
"They're mean words!" Eric disagreed with her.
Primrose playfully glares at him. "Are not!"
"Are too!"
"Are not!"
"Are too!"
Primrose huffs and crosses her arms. "Eric, I don't understand how you got to be Senator of some place. You're literally a five year old."
Eric smiles. "Awe, thank you."
Topanga chuckled and rolled her eyes. She stood up and walked toward the door with a smile. Eric turned to face her as she opened the door.
"Don't take my spot!" Eric called out to her before she left.
****
"I realized something while I was studying molecular structure." Smackle speaks up later that day when the gang was hanging out at Topangas. "It occured to me that we're all made with particular molecules. And if anything changes, then we're simply not who we were. We are cctually different."
Riley nods and smiles a bit. "That's very interesting, Smackle." She furrows her eyebrows, shaking her head. "What?"
"Yeah," Primrose agrees, glancing at the dark-haired girl sitting beside her left side with a small smile. "Please speak in words we understand."
"What she's trying to say is," Farkle glances at Riley with a slight frown. "If you leave us, we will actually be different."
Smackle nods. "And that's when it occurred to me that I was feeling sadness. I identified it as sadness because I was crying."
"She doesn't cry." Farkle and Primrose said at the same time.
"I don't cry." Smackle shakes her head. "But now I know it was because nothing has ever made me sad enough before." She stands up. "I just wanted to say thank you for these feelings, Riley." She outstretched her arms and Riley smiled as she stood up. She hugged Smackle and Smackle actually hugged her back.
"Oh!" The two girls pull away and Riley grins at Smackle. "Smackle, getting so good at these."
Smackle smiles and sits down. Riley goes back to her seat to sit down and glances at Zay when he speaks to her. "Hey, Riley."
Riley smiles a bit. "Hey, Zay."
"Just want to let you know that I'll make sure Lucas is okay." Zay told her, putting his hands on Lucas' shoulders.
Riley's smile widen. "You will?"
"Oh, I'll walk him and feed him," Zay replies and Lucas chuckles. "And make sure he never forgets you."
Lucas smiles and glances at Riley. "I will never forget about her." Riley smiled back at him.
"That's a good boy!" Zay comments. He grins at Lucas, who looks at him with an amused smile. "Good boy!"
"Thank you, Zay." Riley said. "Want to know something?"
"What?" Zay asked, taking his hands away from Lucas and leaned his arms on his legs as he leaned forward a bit.
"Our circle of friends was never complete until you showed up." Riley responded, looking at the dark-skinned boy with a smile. Primrose smiled, thinking that was sweet and she couldn't help but agree with Riley.
Zay nods slowly and closes his eyes. "Smackle, I'm feeling somethin'." He opened his eyes and Primrose smiled sadly upon seeing tears were in his eyes.
"Sadness!" Smackle exclaims, pointing at Zay. She grins. "I'm good at emotions now."
Primrose glances at her with amusement and pats her shoulder. "Good job, Smackle." She smiles a bit. "I'm proud of you."
Smackle smiles back at her. "Thank you, Rosie."
"I've loved you since the first grade." Farkle said to Riley with a smile on his face.
Riley smiles back at him and nods. "I know."
"I always will," Farkle assures her. "Wherever you are."
"Thank you, Farkle." Riley speaks, her smile widening. She gestures with a nod of her head to Primrose and sheepishly smiles. "But maybe you shouldn't say that with your girlfriend right beside you."
Primrose laughs a bit and shakes her head. "Riles, it's okay. I got into this relationship knowing he will always love you and I'm okay with that," She glances at Farkle with a smile, feeling butterflies swarm in her stomach when he wraps his arm around her shoulders and smiles back at her. "Because I know he loves me too. In a different way, of course."
"I do." Farkle agrees with her, pulling her close to his side, smiling when she leans into him and wraps her arm around his waist. "And I'll always love you too no matter where you are."
"Riley," Primrose looks at the brunette-haired girl who had been smiling at the couple. "I just wanted to let you know you've always been like a sister to me," She smiles at Riley. "And I'll always be grateful to have you in my life." Riley smiles back at her and said 'awe'. "Also," Primrose looks at Riley with a stern expression and points at her. "We're definitely facetiming, calling, and texting each other every week if you move."
Riley chuckles and nods, her smile widening. "Oh, of course. And Rosie, I've thought of you like a sister to me and I'll always be grateful to have you in my life as well."
Primrose continues to smile and ignored the tears that were threatening to fall. She groans when she feels a tear fall down her face and she reaches her hand up to wipe it away. "I hate sadness."
"Guys," Maya chuckles. "No decision has been made yet. There's a good chance she's not going anywhere. Actually, I know she's not going anywhere because life knows there's no replacement for her because nobody cares about me as much as she does," She glances at Primrose with a smile as she quickly adds, "Well, besides Rosie." Primrose smiles back at her, and Maya then glances at all her friends again while she continues to speak. "So that's how I know she's not going anywhere, so ha."
Then enter Josh Matthews. "Hey." He walked into Topanga's, glancing at the group of friends with a smile.
Maya glances at him with narrowed eyes. "What do you want?"
"I was thinking about you guys and what you all must be feeling." Josh brings a stool from another table and sets the stool in the area between where Maya and Smackle sat. "Thought I should come over." He sits down, glancing at everyone with a small smile. "Would it be okay with you guys if I sat here?"
Maya's eyes widen. "Oh my gosh. I know what this is." She looks at Riley, who had was leaning forward with her elbows rested on her knees and was staring at the floor. "Life is trying to replace you." Riley glances at her as the blonde points at Josh. "Life moves fast." The blonde looks at Josh with a dreamy smile. "Life does a good job." Josh chuckled and shook his head, looking at her with an amused smile.
"Wait." Maya furrows her eyebrows when she realized something and glances back at Riley. Riley sits up straighter, furrowing her eyebrows. "You're actually leaving." Maya frowns. "You're really gonna go."
Riley glances at her friends with a reassuring smile. "You guys are gonna be fine. We all will be fine. We have to be fine. Okay?"
Primrose grew confused when Lucas stood up and walked toward the door. Riley glanced at him and he gestured with a nod of his head for her to follow him. Primrose noticed Smackle standing up and she chuckled, grabbing her arm to pull her back down. "Not you." She muttered to the dark-haired girl. Smackle pouts as she sat down and crossed her arms. Riley chuckled and got up to follow Lucas outside.

Primrose was now with the Matthews' family along with Maya while they went back to Topanga's. It was dark so Riley turned on the light and they were surprised to find Topanga had been sitting behind the counter the whole time.
"Mom?" Riley asked, walking further into the bakery along with the others.
"Topanga, you're sittin' in the dark." Cory noticed, looking at her with concern.
"Yeah," Topanga nods and smiles. She chuckles. "Sorry. I've been thinking for a long time." She stands up and walks around the corner. "Turns out...This is my quiet place." She walked over to the others as Auggie spoke.
"Have you made your decision?"
"Yes." Topanga replies, standing in front of the five. "Please don't try to talk me out of it."
"We won't." Riley assured her.
Cory nods. "We know better." He smiles at his wife. "You've always done what's best for us, so do this one for you."
Topanga smiles back at him. "Thank you, Cory."
"Yeah." Auggie agrees with his dad. "No matter what it is, we're gonna be fine. You know why?"
Topanga smiles at him. "Because you have good friends." She glances at her husband with a smile. "And you've had good teachers."
"Yeah." Riley nodded in agreement.
"That's a whole lot better than what we were gonna say." Maya remarked.
"Way much better." Primrose agreed.
Riley nods in agreement again. "Yeah."
Topanga laughs and walks over to the sitting area her daughter and her friends always sat. She sits down on one of the chairs as Primrose and her two best friends sit down on the bench across the chair Topanga sat on with Primrose sitting between Riley and Maya. Auggie sat next to his mom while Cory stood by them.
"So?" Riley questioned.
"So, there are a lot of exciting reasons to go." Topanga answers, wrapping her arms around her son as she smiles at each of them. "A new place, a new adventure, my promotion. There are a whole bunch of reasons to go."
"You got any reason to stay?" Riley asked her in a hopeful tone as she linked her arm with Primrose and Primrose linked her arm with Maya's, the three girls looking at Topanga with hopeful expressions.
"Only one." Topanga replies. She smiles at the three best friends. "Every time I watch you girls in the bay window," She glances at Cory and exchanges a smile with him. "I've remembered how much we wanted a place like it of our own."
Cory nods in agreement. "Yeah, we called it a nook."
"Yeah," Topanga agrees, looking back at the three best friends. "A place where important decisions are made and the best next steps of your life are planned and considered." She smiles. "We would do great in England. We would do great anywhere in the world. I could run the London office. Maybe someday, I'll get to run the New York office. But the place I love running is this place that we're in right now."
Primrose smiles, hoping that might mean Topanga chosen for her family to stay. "Where your friends come in and you plan the best next steps of your life...Like we're doing right now." The blonde-haired woman smiles widely as she takes a glance around the bakery before looking at the three girls who were smiling at her. "This is my bay window." She shakes her head. "And I'm not leaving it."
The smile on Primrose's face turns into an excited grin and she exchanges a happy expression with her best friends. She was so relieved to hear one of her best friends and the family who were like a second family to her are not moving. Things just wouldn't be the same without them.
Primrose, Riley, and Maya glance at Cory with a smile when he looks at them with a smile and said, "I told you she'd make the right decision." Topanga smiled at him and chuckled. Primrose, Riley, and Maya then screamed excitedly, the three of them happy that Riley is not leaving and that they can continue to go through life with each other.

(primrose's outfit for this part of the chapter)
The next day after school the gang is in Cory's classroom which is empty. Primrose stood beside Farkle and by Riley and Maya. Maya sat on her desk, holding onto Riley's hand with one hand and holding onto Primrose's hand with her other hand. Riley sat at her desk, holding onto Maya's hand. Primrose would've held onto Riley's other hand, but she had that arm wrapped around Farkle's waist and his arm was wrapped around her shoulders.
Cory smiles at the group of friends. "Belgium 1831. What have you learned?" Everyone glances at Farkle with a smile. "Farkle?"
"There comes a time when the right thing to do is to leave the friends you know, see what's out there, and face a new world." Farkle answered.
Cory nods, raising his eyebrows. "Yeah? What do you have to say about that?"
Farkle glances at everyone, his gaze lingering on Primrose and he couldn't help the smile on his lips as she smiles at him. He squeezes her hand before letting go of it and he walks to the front of the classroom. He stood in front of the chalkboard that still read 'Belgium 1831' and picked up an eraser. Farkle erased it and turned to face everyone with a smile on his face.
"Not yet."

That night the gang is at Topanga's along with Riley's parents, brother, and Uncle Josh, and Maya's parents were there as well. Primrose sat on an ottoman between her boyfriend and Smackle, with her hand intertwined with Farkle's and she was smiling at the four adults.
"There are a lot of places you'll go." Cory explains. He smiles. "I remember another time we were all going someplace. And what I said to..." He looks at his younger brother with a smile and points at him. "You." Josh smiles at him. Cory nods. "Seems like yesterday." He then explained how he told Josh that he would be a part of the world some day.
"You're gonna learn from it every day." Cory continued.
Shawn nods. "You're gonna make mistakes." He smiles. "You're gonna make good friends too."
"And even though it'll seem like the world goes out of its way to teach you hard lessons..."
"It's the same world that gave you your friends and your family." Topanga finished Katy's sentence.
"You'll come to believe the world is gonna protect you, too." Cory spoke and that happened to be something else he told his younger brother.
Riley smiles. "'Girl Meets World'."
Maya nods in realization. "Now I get it."
Primrose chuckled lightly and smiled at her best friends. She glanced over at the door when a customer walked in. He smiled as he looked around the bakery.
"'Topanga's'."
"Yeah," Topanga looks at him and smiles. "'Topanga's'. That's me."
"You still open?" The customer asked her.
"Yeah." Topanga nods. She looks at everyone with a smile. "We're not going anywhere."
Primrose smiles and glances at her boyfriend, feeling butterflies swarm in her stomach at seeing he was already looking at her with a smile. He took his hand away from hers to wrap his arm around her shoulders. He pulled her close to his side before he kissed the top of her head, earning a smile from her.
"So, after you've met the world for a while," Cory said while his wife and Katy walked behind the counter to help the customer. "The best thing that happens is to find out just where it is you belong." He gestures with a nod of his head to Shawn and smiles. "We did." Shawn smiled and nodded in agreement.
Cory smiles at the group of friends. "Now it's your turn."
Everyone separates to do their own thing. Instead of going with Farkle, Primrose went to sit between her two best friends. Riley looked at Maya and Primrose with a smile. "Big World."
Maya nods and smiles. "Ours now."
"People are gonna come in and out of our lives." Riley continued.
"I don't know where we're gonna end up, but I know what we have is gonna be forever." Primrose commented, looking at the two girls with a smile and they smiled back at her.
Riley shrugs. "Who knows if the decisions we're gonna make are right or wrong?"
"That will be something we'll figure out along the way." Primrose spoke. From watching afar, Cory and Shawn smiled at the three best friends.
"Girls," Riley takes ahold of both of their hands. "Promise me this."
"Of course." Primrose nodded, feeling tears beginning to build up in her eyes, but this time it was happy tears.
Maya nods and smiles a bit. "Okay."
Riley shakes her head. "Time and distance have no power over us." She smiles at Maya and Primrose. "The three of us are together for as long as we live."
Maya's smile widen and she raises a hand. "Thunder."
Riley holds her hand and smiles widely. "Lightening."
Primrose holds onto both of their hands and the three girls exchanges a smile. "Together."
The three girls exchanges a smile as they speak at the same time. "Forever."
