Surival 101 Part 2

'You want me to do what now?'

I sighed. I was trying to improve Lily's balance, the girl was as clumsy as a bear.

'Stand on the tree trunk for as long as you can while dancing.' It was the best that I could come up with. Lily stepped up onto the trunk while grumbling. I heard something about pointless and real world.

We would do this everyday, as well as a series of other exercises designed to improve her strength, balance and fighting prowess.

I stifled a laugh as she fell off the trunk into the small brook. She sat there, dripping wet, shock evident on her face. I got up, clapped my hands and stepped up onto the trunk further on over the brook. It was thinner that the last one. 'Again!' I started to position myself for a fight. I drew my knives and started to dance. Nimbly twirling and twisting I danced along the wood, throwing my knives into earlier positioned targets. When I was out, I unsheathed my sword and closed my eyes. I imagined a enemy standing in front if me. I drew a deep breath and started a epic sequence of moves I made up myself. I opened my eyes and began a complex set of patterns. I threw my sword up with my left and caught it with my right. I pretended to stab my opponent and then cut behind his knees, felling him. I stopped, drawing myself up, out of breath. Lily was sitting open mouthed on her log. I was annoyed. Very annoyed.

'Lily! You are supposed to be practising, not sitting around like a open mouthed frog catching flies.'

She had at least the manners to look ashamed.

'Sorry Red. It's just... you are so good!'

I blushed.

'Compliments won't get you anywhere. If you want I will dance with you, but I doubt it will help.' I said gruffly, secretly pleased.

If your so grumpy why are you blushing Miss Red?' Lily replied cheekily.

'I am sure I don't know what you are talking about. Back to work, come on.'

Half a hour later

'Alright, that's enough.' I called Lily to a halt. In all fairness, she was improving. She sat down on the floor, tired.

'What you lazin bout for? Cone on, we got lots left to do.'

'What?!' Lily exclaimed.

'We will continue with training after, but we need to go hunting, then make a fire. We will make dinner them go wash and get changed. After that we will practice weapons and target practice. I swiped you a small dagger and a bow. I doubt you could pick up a sword. Come, chop chop. Let us be on our way.' I felt like I was being tough on her, I struggled when I first ran away. There was that time when he found me... No! I will not remember that. Focus. Lily. Right.
