ALICE HAD JUST WOKEN UP, AND SHE BREATHED IN THE COLD AIR OF THE THURSDAY MORNING. she stretched her arms up over her head, lying in bed. after ten minutes of her trying to wake herself up, she reached for her phone. it was 10:23 am and this is how she wanted to spend her day off - just lying in bed.

alice scrolled through her notifications and saw a missed call from mila. she rubbed her eyes and called her best friend back.

just as she was about to end the call, mila picked up. alice sat up, at the same time as she put the phone on speaker and threw it on a pillow near her, on the bed.

''good morning sleepyhead! you up yet?'' mila answered the call. she could hear some murmur, and assumed that she was out on a walk.

alice yawned and mila laughed, ''not really, but good morning to you too!''

"well get up, cause i'm coming over!''

liz groaned and fell down lying in the bed, whipsering, ''oh god, save me!''

''what was that?'' mila asked. alice didn't knew if mila had heard her or not.

''nothing, the door is always open for you,'' she laughed.

mila smiled, ''ha-ha. see you soon.''

they said goodbye and alice ended the call. she was still lying in bed, waiting on mila. suddenly, she felt an imense pain in her stomach. she hadn't eating anything she knew she couldn't eat, so she assumed it was period cramps. but the pain didn't go away. on the contrary, it only grew bigger.

alice heard the sound of the lock on the door being unlocked. she got up from the bed, on her way to greet one of her favourite persons.

mila closed the door behind her and then turned towards alice. she eyed her up and down, "i see you didn't care enough to put on some clothes!"

alice was about to snap back at her, but the immense pain came back. she felt like she was about to throw up, so she ran to the bathroom.

mila threw her bag on the floor and ran after her best friend. she saw alice bent over with her head over the toilet. mila brushed liz's hair from her face and continued to hold up her hair.

the pain went away and alice turned away from the toilet, sitting on the bathroom floor.

mila looked concerned at alice, "how are you feeling?"

"like shit," she answered, while wiping her mouth with her hand. she immediately regretted her decision.

but mila was there to help her. she help alice up, towards the sink. mila helped alice wash her face and hands, and then she helped her to her bed. both of them sat on liz's bed, facing each other.

mila looked with big eyes at her best friend, "have you been eating some funky stuff lately? are you feeling sick?"

alice smiled, shaking her head, "no, nothing funky. i feel fine now!"

"uhm, then why did you throw up?" mila asked bluntly.

alice's mind raced - she had no idea. but there was one certain name that always came back to her mind.

"oh my god!" alice exclaimed.

mila looked like she was waiting for her to say something more.

"justin!" she exclaimed, in a lower voice this time.

"what has justin got to do -" mila had to bite her tongue when she realised what she meant. "oh my god, alice!"

"excuse me while i go down to buy a pregnancy test!" alice excused herself.

mila nodded, but followed her. together they walked down to the store to by a pregnancy test, to be absolute certain of what was happening with alice.

when they had bought what they needed, they got up again, and alice did the test. it took a while, before she came out of the bathroom, with tears in her eyes.

"it's positive," alice breathed out, with a bunch of mixed emotions.

alice felt as she was about to cry, and not out of happiness. she didn't want to be a mother yet. she was not ready for a child, especially not one with justin bieber.

walked towards her bed and reached for her phone, ''i have to call shawn!''

mila looked confused at alice, ''shawn - wait, what? alice, you have to call justin. in case you missed it, he's the father to your child?''

alice's patience had gone from one hundred to zero in the span of a few seconds.

''it's not a child!'' alice yelled, taking mila by surprise. ''excuse me.''

she felt mila's surprised stare at her, while she searched for shawn in her contacts. it didn't take very long, since she had favourited his number. alice clicked on his name, and put her phone to her ear.

it didn't take very long until shawn picked up, ''alice?''

''shawn ... are you free?'' sha asked, avoiding being to direct.

''yeah?'' he replied suspiciously, but then changed his tone to caring. ''you need anything?''

alice hesitated, ''i need you.''

there was a short pause of silence, and alice was afraid that shawn had hung up on her. but she heard movements on the other line.

''are you home?'' he finally asked.

''yes.''

another pause.

''i'm on my way.''

alice had her phone pressed against her ear, even after she heard the sound, that told her that the call was ended. she breathed out - she didn't even realised when she had held her breath.

then she felt a familiar hand on her left hand. alice turned around and smiled at mila. they hugged each other, and mila got up from the bed, and took her bag.

mila smirked at alice, who was sitting in the bed, in only a shirt and a pair of panties. ''you might wanna put some clothes before shawn arrives. you don't wanna make it too easy for him!''

alice laughed out loud at what she'd said. they said goodbye, and alice was alone in her flat. she didn't feel like moving at all.

but, as the time went, she had to. she got up from the bed, and looked for a pair of shorts. just as she had put them on, they doorbell ringed.

she unlocked the door, and saw shawn standing outside. they locked eyes, and they were both unable to move. they hadn't seen each other for about two months, and oh, what she had missed him.

alice escaped from her trance, and moved so the shawn could come in. he walked in to her flat, and the door closed behind him.

the flat was nothing new to shawn, except a few minor decorate changes. he had spent many days, and nights, with alice in her flat.

"okay so, i'm just gonna cut right to the chase!" alice started, sounding very nervous. "i just found out something life overwhelming, and i didn't knew who to tell. but you were the first one who came to my mind."

shawn moved closer, and took her hand, "take your time, darling!"

she glanced up at him - why did he have to be so romantic all the time?

"well, maybe i should have called justin - but i didn't! i called you, cause you were the one that came to my mind!'' alice explained herself, for no real reason.

shawn came even closer, and looked at alice, who was staring at his chest. he touched her chin, and made her look at him. they looked deep into each other's eyes. he knew that she was just ranting about unimportant stuff, because she was nervous.

''alice!'' it was just her name, and he still managed to make her speechless.

''shawn, i'm pregnant!'' she breathed out, finally getting it from her chest.

she took him by surprise, and hesitated before he answered her. ''is it ... is it mine?''

alice also hesitated before talking, ''no. or maybe, yeah - i don't know, shawn!''

''do you want to know?'' shawn asked, carefully.

alice shook her had, ''it doesn't matter, since i'm not keeping it!''

shawn looked at her, feeling more confused than ever. ''then why are you telling me this?''

''i just wanted you to know! i'm not ready to have a kid yet!'' she explained, feeling a bit attacked by his question.

he looked concerned at her, ''you're the mother. you get to decide what your going to do.''

''and i have.''

shawn brushed his thumb across her chin. this last two months, without seeing each other, had been unbearable for shawn. he had missed alice a great lot.

just as he was reaching down, the doorbell ringed. alice groaned, and released herself from shawn's touch, to open the door. outside was an unwelcome person standing. he pushed himself past alice, to find himself standing inside of her home.

''justin, you can't just come, barging into my home!'' alice explained to him, clearly annoyed.

the unwelcome, justin bieber, had noticed that shawn was also there, and stared at him. ''what's he doing here?''

alice crossed her arms over her stomach, ''i asked him to come over.''

justin turned towards alice, and walked closer to her, ''alice, we need to talk!''

''yes we do!'' alice agreed. justin had not counted on alice agreeing with him.

but alice weren't going to let justin talk, she was going to talk to him. ''justin. i'm pregnant! and i don't know who's the dad, out of you and shawn. but that doesn't matter, cause i'm not keeping it.''

justin reaction was even more surprised than shawn's. ''what? you're what? alice ... you're pregnant?''

alice nodded. justin walked closer, but alice backed away, almost backing into shawn.

''why are you getting rid of it?'' he asked sincerely.

''cause i'm not ready to be a mother yet, and i don't think you're ready to become a father,'' she explained, speaking her mind.

he chuckled in annoyance, ''what about mr. perfet over here? would you keep it if you knew he was the father?''

alice glared at him, ''you're acting ridiculous!''

''and you still didn't answer my question. but i guess i can't argue about your decision about the ... thing. after all, you're the one carrying it,'' justin got calmer as he spoke to alice.

''thank you!'' she breathed out, feeling shawn's hand on her waist.

justin glared at shawn, with burning hatred in his eyes.

''goodbye, alice!'' he said, shortly before walking out from the flat. he closed th door after himself, making sure he didn't slam the door.

alice turned towards shawn, and pushed her body against his. he embraced her, and they hugged each other for a long while.

she felt his pounding heart, having her ear pushed against his chest. ''thank you for being there for me!''

shawn smiled, ''i'd do anything for you, alice!''

it was only morning, and alice already knew that this was going to be a good day. even if she had just had a pretty crappy talk with justin bieber, after she found out she was pregnant. but she had reuntied with her love, shawn mendes.

two months without shawn, had almost broken her. but there they were, hugging each other tightly, in the strong sunshine. after so long time apart, alice didn't ever want to leave him. she didn't even want to let go of the hug.

she wanted to stay in this hug forever.
