CHAPTER 0:
prologue
( March 1977 )
A CLOAKED FIGURE LOOMED THEIR PRESENCE THROUGH THE DIMLY LIT CORRIDORS OD HOGWARTS SCHOOL OF WITCHCRAFT AND WIZARDRY. Classes were over, students were beginning to go off to either bed or showers to be ready for the next day to come.
A girl skipped her way to the Prefects showers, her dark hair swinging behind her with every gallop she took while her heels rhythmically clicked on the stone floor.
The figure followed her in, their face not being covered by their cloak even though they had the ability to mask their appearance. But they had no care.
The girl, Sersi Hyde, had no awareness of the figure until her face was pushed into one of the mirrors above one of the many pristine and porcelain sinks that ran along the stone walls. The glass cracked, puncturing her frail dark skin as her face was held there. Her eyes watered with the pain from the glass and the sink as both were being lodged into her body.
Then her eyes set on her attacker, someone she had seen in the halls of Hogwarts but never felt the need to speak to them unless necessary. Sersi uttered their name, wondering why they were doing this to her, but they had no response or reaction. Instead, their hand balled her hair in their fist and pounded her head into the pearly white sink creating a crimson stain on the corner as she fell to the floor.
The figure stood over the girl in pain, no traces of sympathy or emotion in their face while they got on their knees closer to Sersi. She pleaded for them to stop, that she wouldn't tell anyone what happened, maybe tell everyone that she fell down the stairs or slipped in the shower. But her efforts were useless.
Hyde was held down while her attacker straddle her to keep her in place then proceeded to pick up her shoulders then harshly press them back into the cold stone creating a chain effect that brought her cranium into the stone as well. This tactic happened again, and again, and again, and again, and again until Sersi no longer had a brain in her skull. The blood pooled around her body as her body twitched with its last moments of life.
Blood had viciously splattered on the attacker's face, spilling down their face and down their neck but all they could do was admire the artwork of a mess they had made on the floor of the Prefects Bathrooms.
They left the body there, no traces of their identity had been left when they opened the door until they saw a boy strolling down the corridor in their direction. He slowed his steps as he saw the blood on the figure's face, and as if on instinct, he ran the other way.
Their eyes filled with rage at the thought of being put away for their actions and they ultimately decided to chase him.
The boy, Micheal Baudelaire, ran terrified into the direction of the Great Hall. His adrenaline coursed through his veins when he turned his head over his shoulder to see the murderer running right after him and gaining speed on him. He was done for.
The moment he turned a corner, they were on top of him. His head collided with the stone floor, the sound echoing through the empty hall before blood quickly left his skull. The attacker grasped his hair in their fist and repeated the motion they had done for Sersi when pounding her head into the pearly sink. But this time he was faced down instead of staring up at the murderer to plead for his life.
Micheal was dead. This had been true within the first second he made impact. But the attacker had to be thorough for the next two minutes.
There was a gaping indent in the boy's forehead. His skull had been crushed in beyond repair as there was a staining liquid seeping out of where his intelligence had been splattered on the rough stone.
They made sure not to leave any footprints by wiping the bottoms of their shoes on his back.
And then they were gone around the corner just before a scream thundered through the entire school.
Speculation went around as to who could've possibly handled both students with such rage and strength, but no answers were given because of the disappointing lack of evidence.
But they continued on to never be found out.
NOTE. AND THERES THE PROLOGUE‼️ i actually had some fun writing this out and imagining it as it went on and i hope you enjoyed reading it even though it was a bit morbid 😋
