Truth untold

"You can now kiss the bride," the priest said.
I gazed up at my husband, a sweet smile on my face. Our eyes locked, completely lost in each other. His eyes, the light it reflects made my heart flutter even more for him.

Standing with the man of my dreams on the altar where we confess our deep love for each other and our unbreakable bond. This is what dreams are made of.

He brought his hand up to me and stroked my cheek tenderly. He leaned in closer and kissed me. It felt passionate and beautiful. His sweet lips that touched mine made me realize, why It's him and always will be him. We locked eyes again and then looked into the crowd. People cheered for us, their blessings filling the air with joy. It all just felt like a dream. The smile that lit up on all their faces, if they just knew how it felt. We rushed down the aisle
happily, hands tightly clasped together. The cheers grew louder and people celebrated our love and happiness. I took my bouquet and tossed it in the air.

"I got it" someone exclaimed happily.

I laughed. Finally, I found the love of my life and the one who would always be my side. The shimmering night sky added to the magic.

It all felt surreal, as if it time had slowed down and waited for this moment.

We both walked up to our car and waved everyone our goodbyes and farewells. I smiled
seeing my mother crying tears of joy and my father comforting her.

Everything was perfect.

As we sat in the car my smile immediately dropped.

I swiftly removed my ring and set it aside.
"You know you didn't actually had to kiss me" I said, rolling my eyes.

"We wanted it to look perfect, didn't we?" He replied sarcastically. This little brat always had to add something, didn't he.

"Yeah yeah whatever let's get this over with" I said annoyed. The day was so long and so draining. I just want to get to our new house and relax for a bit. I guess I can be nice enough to read some of the wedding letters. I sighed heavily. Looking through them, I found one that actually peeked my interest.

"From mom' I murmured. Weird she never writes anything.

Dear Eli,

"I'm at a loss for words. My little one has grown so much and has finally found her soulmate. I still remember when you were just a tiny, delicate baby. As a young girl, you always strived to do your best. I am overjoyed for you, my dear, and I hope your husband will share in that happiness as well."

Oh mom he definitely will.
