two: tomorrow
"It'll all become yesterday anyway so what's the use?
I wanted to become happy and strong but why am I getting weaker?"

Jimin and Zelda are flowers indeed.
Jungkook knows exactly why they're opening the previously closed florist again. it's the place where their love began and they want it to stay, be remembered and run as a business, even if it's small and unsuccessful. they're passionate about flowers and making things grow.
including him.
Jungkook can't help but admire the couple and their young love. their excitement of opening the florist beside his cafe is evident.
he's excited too, he feels when he reaches up to hang the banner. Flores in Love in pink calligraphy, for the people of the streets to see and hopefully grab their distracted attention. Jungkook sincerely hopes the business works well and even if it doesn't, he'll know Jimin and Zelda will be delighted.
"i'm excited for you guys."
Jimin smiles, it reaches his eyes before his pink lips turn upwards. they head inside the florist after admiring the banner for a while. the boy runs his hands through his blonde locks, prince charming energy radiating off him. "it's romantic right?" he can't stop smiling as he thinks of his wife. "the place we first met and now our own business." Jimin wants to carry on the tradition as his old manager is unfit to run the florist.
he's determined to win people's hearts with flowers.
"here, take this flower for the cafe."
"thanks man." Jungkook nods in acknowledgement and takes the beautiful, red rose. it's delicate yet his hand clenches around the stem, feeling the pricking of its body. his attention has suddenly turned to the rose entirely and Jimin notices.
"we have competition you know."
"who?"
"it's you." Jimin chuckles.
"oh shit yeah."
Jimin nudges Jungkook as they laugh. Jungkook doesn't catch the way the older looks at him in concern. he hasn't seen him laugh or smile genuinely in a long time and he misses his best friend. sometimes, he wishes his hugs were the cure for his melancholia.
but there is only so much a friend can do. heartbreak is incurable.
"no one will come here but that's okay... i have my Zelda." Jimin sighs in pleasure as he leans against the counter. he remembers the several times he served customers and feels excited to be doing it again with his wife. working at the florist didn't feel like a job, it felt like a pleasant hobby that earned him cash and confidence. although him and Zelda are both busy with their daily jobs, they'll be capable to run the small business with helpful Jin and Namjoon and other hired help.
Jungkook nods and leaves to go to his business next door. he needs a distraction from the feeling that sits in his chest. the boy feels too uncomfortable standing with joyous Jimin as he talks about his wife. he quietly listens everyday and blesses his friends but he's not used to the fact that many of his friends are happy with their lovers and here he is... unhappy with his and wanting to be with another. he feels left behind.
it's been years kookie, when will you move on?
"i'm going to go test this out." black haired Jungkook bumps into Zelda on his way out as she wanders into the florist. she smiles at him, waving her pregnancy test in his face.
Jungkook scratches the back of his neck, rose tucked into his pocket as he hears Zelda's mumbles about trying to get pregnant. he briefly turns around to smirk at blushing Jimin.
so Jungkook walks into his cafe and firstly places the rose in an occupied vase on the window ledge. he notices the empty cashier and a customer waiting. his eyebrows furrow, feeling irritation since he's the manager. he wonders where Jin has gone.
so he smiles politely, apologises and serves the customer with a muffin and a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows. they leave a tip and Jungkook leans against the counter, arms crossing as he stares at the door.
he's glad of the quiet climate of a working morning in the weekday. many come to Two Euphoric Hearts to work on projects and work, some with paper and some with electrical devices. Jungkook welcomes anyone into his cafe/library and enjoys the quiet mornings.
once again, he plays with his silver hopped earrings as he stares at the door with nothing but hope.
the boy suddenly flinches in surprise when someone unexpected walks through the door. definitely not the girl you were thinking about kookie huh? just breathe, it's your girlfriend.
Valerai immediately finds his eyes and walks up to the counter. "hi lovely. i can't stay long." she mentions, reaching over to caress his cheek. "i have to go boss men around on a construction site." she explains, noticing the blank expression on Jungkook's face.
"you go girl!" Jimin laughs, hands in the back pockets of his denim jeans as the bell rings when he saunters in through the glass door.
"i'll see you later then yeah?" Valeria hums, reaching over a little more to press a kiss to Jungkook's lips. he barely has time to kiss her back as she leaves, leaving a trace of her taste on his lips. so his expression remains the same, watching the door before noticing Jimin still here.
"she's cool."
"yeah."
Jimin squeezes Jungkook's shoulders before messing around with his hair. the younger's hair has gotten long, curling around his ears in black softness. "Jungkook... breathe man, you worry too much." he sighs. "she's cool, you're cool." he massages his shoulders, trying to help his friend.
"you sure you can reach my shoulders jimmy jammy?"

DAD
i'm on my way
JUNGKOOK
see you in a few minutes
Jungkook goes down to Two Euphoric Hearts and changes the sign. CLOSED. the red sign seats as he turns it around. the business man lets out a deep breath as he turns around and places his hands on hips. he takes in the state of his beloved cafe and gets to work. he'll be cleaning up alone today which he doesn't mind.
he plays his Spotify playlist and pushes his hair back with a headband Taehyung had left. he tucks away stools and chairs, brushes crumbs from the leather couches, mops the floors, wipes the surfaces squeaky clean, puts away missing books, shuts the blinds, makes sure the overused coffee machines are clean and the cutlery is washed and dried.
minutes later, Jungkook's father arrives and knocks on the door with a knowing smile. he realises the door is already open and walks inside.
the state of his son alarms him a little as he approaches him with hesitant steps. Jungkook doesn't notice his father walking in as he sits on the stool, long legs apart. his hands fiddle with a dry cloth as his parted hair falls forward, covering his tired eyes.
Jungkook stands up when he notices his father watching him. they immediately move to embrace each other with familial affection. the son leans into his father, the only genetic family he has left. him and his father have grown closer over the years, the distance has actually helped them to love one another more. they meet regularly and it's admirable to see them so utterly close.
Jungkook throws the cloth onto the table, emotions behind eyes as he brings his father up the stairs to his apartment above the cafe. "it's nice to see you." the boy smiles.
dinner is splendid as Jungkook and his father enjoy takeout noodles and meat. they discuss the news and catch up with each other on their lives.
"i like the place you've created." Jungkook's father grins, leaning back in his seat with playful attitude. Jungkook never realised he got his personality and playfulness from his father until just a few months ago, when his father suggested they go skydiving. "you've done very well for yourself."
hearing that from his father makes him feel emotional. his emotions have always been everywhere, his sensitivity is something he's never seen as a weakness. even when Elianna rejected him or when he had to leave, he dealt with the sadness and anger.
Jungkook smiles a small smile, feeling shy under his father's gaze. "i hope you know that your mom and siblings would be very proud of you." his father continues, patting his shoulder as he drinks from his glass of coke.
"are you proud of me?"
"always."
Jungkook doesn't realise he's frowning until his father frowns. he stands up and collects their dishes, shaking his hair away from his bronze eyes. he takes them to the sink, avoiding his father's eyes as he coughs.
"are you happy son?"
Jungkook hears the heavy clatter of plates in the sink as he turns around and his eyes meet his father's. the difference of lightness in their coloured eyes blink at each other. he's taken aback by the question and he can't even come up with a reply.
it's a simple yes or no question.
Jungkook says nothing and steps away from the sink to hug his dad. he embraces him with his lanky arms, trying not to cry as they sigh.
as the Jeon family embrace each other, Jungkook's phone lights up with a message.
VALERIA
