Family Reunion

The Doctor tried to sonic our way out of the cell with what he called his sonic screwdriver, that strange metal stick. The cell was pure white. Even the door didn't have any bars or windows or anything. He sat down next to me after failing to open the door. "Deadlock seal. I can't get us out." He moaned.

"So, what are these potato aliens?" I asked.

"They're called Sontarans. They are one of the greatest warriors in the universe. They don't fear death, they live to go to battle one day. Anyway, you never told me your name."

"Evelyn, Evelyn Harkness." The Doctor's eyes widened and he looked so surprised.

"You're not, are you?"

"Yep. Captain Jack Harkness's adopted daughter and Torchwood member at your service." I smiled and so did the Doctor. "He told me stories about you when I was a little girl. It has been my dream to travel ever since. Now look at me, sitting in a cell on a space ship full of potato-like aliens in my pajamas with a frying pan while next to the man that I was told stories about when I was young. So much for dreams."

Two Sontarans came to take us out of the cells. "You will come with me." It demanded. I stood up and one of the Sontaran stopped me when he saw the frying pan in my hand. "You are armed. The weapon seems to be harmless. Carry on." I had a plan but it was quite a risky one. I used the end of the flying pan's handle to hit the Sontaran in front of me in this circle bit on the back of his neck and he fell. The other Sontaran behind us tried to stop me but I was quick and did the same to him. "Was it you who sent the bomb thing to my house?" I asked him putting my foot on his chest so he couldn't stand. "Yes." He answered.

"Why? Why did you want to kill me?"

"We are allied."

"With who?" Two more Sontarans came from behind me and the Doctor and broke my frying pan. The only thing I had from my home was destroyed.

We were lead to a huge room. It was a bit like a throne room except with no thrones but two black spinny chairs on a stand faced away from us. "Why are we here? Who do you work for?" The Doctor asked. "Our leaders and allies." One Sontaran said. The chairs spun around to reveal a man and a woman. They both looked human but then again, after working at Torchwood for two years, you don't know what's human and what's alien anymore. "Hello Evelyn." The man said smiling. He had brown hair, a short beard and shiny blue eyes, an awful lot like mine. "Hi... How do you know my name exactly?"

"Well, you wanted to know who send the ball and we're the people who sent it."

"Yes but how do you know me?"

"Don't you recognise us?" The woman asked. She had the same brown hair and green eyes.

"I've never seen you before in my life. Do you know them Doctor?"

"Nope." The Doctor answered.

"I thought you would recognise your own family." The man said. My family? I didn't even know I had a family let alone what any of them looked like. "If you're my family why are you trying to kill me?"

"Well this is your sister, Kayleigh, first of all. She is three years older than you. You have another sister, Skyla, who is two years older than you but she never hated you and was also put up for adoption in a separate orphanage before you went. Your mother died when she gave birth to you and I never looked at you the same. I wanted you dead. Kayleigh hated you but Skyla was the only one that stood up for you, hense why she went to a separate orphanage. Even though she was only two she could tell the difference between right and wrong. I tried to kill you one night when you were only a few months old but the police found out and took you away but I ran before they could take me to prison. Kayleigh was hidden away and I got to keep my favourite daughter. Now I have come to finish what I started." I backed away from the stand shaking. My own family wanted me dead. Tears started to form in my eyes but I held them back and was strong. The Doctor grabbed my hand and squeezed it. Even though we had only met he was awfully kind.

Kayleigh stood up and walked towards me with a gun in her hand. She shot me and I fell to the floor crying. I was getting used to the whole immortal thing and never cried because of it but my sister had just shot me expecting me to die. Of course I was going to cry. The Doctor still had hold of my hand and was on his knees trying to get me to stay alive. "Evelyn, stay with me please. Don't die, you'll be fine. You're going to be absolutely fine. Hey, if you survive I promise a trip in the TARDIS. Deal?" He comforted trying to smile. "I-I..." I didn't even get to tell him that I'll be fine before I died.

The Doctor's POV

They killed her without a second thought. Now I was mad. I layed Evelyn's hand on her chest and stood up. I had blood on my hands but I didn't care. They just killed family. "How could you do that?" I shouted. "She was your own sister and you killed her without even thinking about it first." Kayleigh sat down next to her dad and laughed. "She isn't my family. Not after what she did to my mum." I could feel myself getting angrier but I talked to them calmly.. "Okay. Lets ask this. Why did you form an allience with the Sontarans? Out of all the species of aliens, why them? How do you even know about the Sontarans?"

"I hacked into the Torchwood files after I found out where Evelyn was. The Sontarans were on there. I read about them and found out how to find them. Offered them money and a "war" and they were mine." Evelyn's dad answered. He was so annoying. Ordering the death of his daughter, forming an alliance with the Sontarans and lying about a war they could fight it. How sick could you get?

Evelyn's POV

I came back and found myself still lying on the ground. The Doctor was shouting at my dad and I needed to get their attention the best way possible. They didn't even notice me standing up until I whistled to get their attention. "Evelyn? How are you alive?" My dad asked.

"Well, long story short, on my 21st birthday my adoptive dad, who is also immortal, made me immortal because he didn't want me to die because being in Torchwood is dangerous. He couldn't bear the thought of me dying because of Torchwood. I'm now 23 and look at me now. Laughing in my families' face in my pajamas on a Sontaran ship." I answered then gave my best "Bet you didn't expect that" smile. "Guards!" Kayleigh yelled. I ran over to this control panel and pressed my favourite big red button. "Self destruct activated." A voice said letting us know we have five minutes to get back to the TARDIS. "Ta-ta!" I said and ran back to the TARDIS with the Doctor

We got to the TARDIS with a minute to spare and flew away. Everything was okay but then I thought about how most of my family wanted me dead. I sat on the stairs facing the doors. A single tear ran down my face but I wiped it when the Doctor came and sat next to me. "Do you still want that trip I promiced?" He asked smiling. At least I had someone to cheer me up. It was one hell of a day. The last thing I wanted was to die again. "Of course." I stood up and watched as the Doctor spun around the console smiling and laughing. This was going to be fantastic.
