Chapter - 11: He is Mine

"Umm no...nothing...no" Swara could barely mumble shaking her head vigorously trying her best to hide her over excitement.

Sanskar looked at her for a moment in confusion and then turned his concentration back on road.

'Ohh my god, Kavita was in his group all these years just because of Rohan. Rohan had crush on her and Sanskar had nothing to do with her. Infact he called her as Fashion Magazine. As per him she was not good for Rohan. Shit and what all stupid assumptions I made in my tiny, stupid brain. Swara, you are such a dumbo. He was never interested in her and Kavita she used to flaunt that Sanskar is her boyfriend, she used to spread that fake rumours in school and now also on social media giving wrong impression to everyone. But now I don't care what she did in past but the exclusive breaking news of the day is he was never ever interested in her... Yuppy!' Swara's brain was running with marathon of thoughts whereas her heart was swelled to extend that it would come out of her ribcage.

Swara looked at Sanskar with narrowed eyes whose concentration was on road. She was remembering all incidents when she tagged Kavita as his girlfriend, those were truly fake. 'He is mine only' she turned her gaze back to other side to hide her unshed tears.

On their dinner date before engagement, Sanskar gave her assurance and Swara had trusted him with all her heart but Kavita's advances always used to create confusion in her mind. But today all her doubts got clear and her mind and heart both were feeling the peace and calmness.

Sanskar was glancing at Swara every now and then, she was looking outside of window and was continuously making faces, rolling her eyes, smiling to herself, biting her lower lips and then slapping her own forehead with her palms from last 15 minutes. He was running his brain in all direction to understand her unexpected reaction.

Sanskar parked car in front of the Italian Restaurant which they had finalized for their group dinner.

"Swara, come on let's go" Sanskar said looking at lost Swara. His voice broke her trance. He took the keys of car and his wallet from dashboard still thinking about her sudden silent treatment 'did I say something wrong, just 20 minutes back she was all fine, talking to me, smiling then what happened to her suddenly?'

"Hmm...?" Swara turned her face towards him and hummed with open mouth, still in daze mode.

"We have reached Swara." Sanskar replied with narrowed eyes staring at her amused face. She was continuously blinking her eyes to hid her nervousness. He continued staring at her confused face "What happened? Are you ok? Do you want to go anywhere else?"

"No No, I am perfectly fine Sanskar don't worry about me. I was thinking something stupid." Swara said making puppy face. She understood that her silent behaviour would raise questions in his mind, and in any circumstances, she wanted to avoid any discussions on her so called baseless assumptions at current moment. 'This discussion will spoil his mood; I don't want to do that. He was happy full day. It's a perfect day.'

Sanskar unlocked his seatbelt thinking about Swara's recent reactions. He widened his eyes and turned to look towards Swara with sudden realization. He asked with narrowed eyes in suspicious tone, "Swara, did you ever think about me and Kavita? I am sure no, right? You know me ..."

Sanskar could not finish his sentence when Swara replied in low voice, wide eyes, open mouth and shaking her head like pendulum "Noooo...No...No way...How could I?"

Swara responded in negative but her expressions on her face told complete opposite story to Sanskar. She was biting her lower lip and looking at him  with wide eyes just like a scary kitten.

'She is looking damn cute; I wish, I could just kiss those rose petals senselessly. She is becoming irresistible day by day.' Sanskar thought gazing at her pink luscious lips but then he pushed his thoughts on back of his mind to concentrate on current topic of discussion.

"Come on Swara. How could you? I just don't believe this. I have a reputation to maintain. Shit" Sanskar said in shocked voice with open mouth moving his hand from his hairs. He could not digest the possibility of Swara tried to link him up with Kavita, 'the worst dream which was never ever possible. He would prefer to embrace death instead.'

"Hmm...what... I mean...Just forget it na" Swara pleaded making innocent pouty face.

"Kavita, that fashion magazine! Didn't you find anyone else to link up with me. She would not even be the last person I would think of. That was terrible Rapunzel. You spoiled my reputation" Sanskar replied running his had from his silky jet hairs throwing his head back on his seat's head support. He was chuckling while looking upwards thinking 'should I laugh at her innocence or should I cry on my fate'

"Leave it na Sanskar, it was long back. Come on let's go inside I am hungry now" Swara requested holding his hand trying her best to divert the topic of their discussion.

"No No No. Now tell me everything" Sanskar asked stubbornly holding her hand and turning towards her. He was not going to leave her before understanding her reasons behind her assumptions.

"I was such stupid to think all that, I was a kid that time, I came in everyone's words." Swara said trying to convince him.

Sanskar gave her stern look to convey everything. She took deep breath and continued in low voice looking at their intertwined hands "She was the only girl in your group when we were in school. You were so reserved with other girls even with Uttara and Me. School used to gossip about you both...even you went on prom with her after complementing, that black suits her...so I thought... I know... and I am really sorry for assuming things"

"Rohan, I am seriously going to kill you." Sanskar mumbled in frustrated tone. He took deep breath squeezing her hand in his, "Swara trust me there was nothing between me and her. Me and Neil used to bare her just because of idiot Rohan. We even tried to explain Rohan, but he had become total Romeo behind her. He is my best friend. But please trust me there was nothing..."

Swara did not let him finish, she could see truthfulness and sinceirity in his dark brown eyes, she put her other palm on their intertwined hands and replied with assurance "I trust you Sanskar, that time I was kid. I used to believe on what was in front my eyes and what my ears used to hear. But now I know, for every coin there is other side. In this one week, I realised, how my delusional mind made its own baseless assumptions. For these baseless thoughts I don't want to spoil our today and tomorrow. I trust you more than anybody else in this world."

Sanskar bent towards her face to kiss her forehead. Her words on trust gave much needed relief to his heart. Her trust was the most important for their relation.

Swara felt truly blessed under his care. She lowered her eyes feeling shy, shifting her hair strand behind her ears and mumbled in low voice "Now, let's leave this topic here only. Everybody must be waiting for us inside"

"Ok Let's go" Sanskar said with nod staring at her flushed face, but he had already taken a mental note for detailed discussions by end of the day.

When they came out Sanskar held her hand and proceed towards restaurant entrance where the other members of their gang were waiting for them.

"Finally, we have lovebirds couple over here." Rohan exclaimed when he saw Swara and Sanskar entering terrace which was booked for their dinner.

"Exactly, I thought you both would ditch us and go to some other restaurant for private dinner" Neil said shrugging his shoulders with teased smile.

"Wow that would have been a better option. It would have given us much needed privacy" Sanskar's returned smirk with his famous sarcastic reply and continued turning towards Swara "Come on Swara, we will go to some other restaurant; this place is too much crowded."

Swara looked at him with wide eyes like her eyeballs would come out from their sockets any moment. His flirting's, teasing's, possessiveness towards her was giving her tingling sensations in her body resulting her cheeks enriching with cherry red colour.

"Bhai this dinner is due on your head" Laksh shouted looking at her elder brother.

"Yes exactly, your arrival, your promotion to CEO position, your engagement lot of pending events on your head so don't you dare to step out." Neil threatened his friend.

Meanwhile Uttara went towards Swara and Sanskar and pulled Swara's hand who followed her till the table where everybody was sitting. Sanskar was looking at both girls with open mouth.

"We have Bhabhi now; he will automatically come here. Bhai we just need you to pay our bills" Uttara said giving hi fi to Kavya. Hearing Uttara entire terrace of the restaurant was filled with roar of laughs. Rohan introduced Keerti to other members of the gang and soon she was jelled up with girls.

Dinner went well creating new memories for this extended gang. Laksh was giving extra attention towards Kavya whereas Rohan was busy with Keerti. Sanskar teased Neil that now his number would be the next.

At the end of dinner, the gang asked waiter to bring the cake which they had bought for celebrating togetherness of newly engaged couple. Swara and Sanskar cut the cake holding each other's hand.

Soon after dinner and long chatting hours, everyone left for their homes, deciding to held such gathering at least once in a month.

Sanskar drove to Mehra House to drop his Rapunzel.

"Wow it was an amazing day Sanskar, thank you so much. I really enjoyed it a lot" Swara said when Sanskar parked car in front of main entrance of her house.

"Come on, in fact, I should say thanks to my Rapunzel" Sanskar said and held her palm in his both looking straight in her eyes.

Swara looked down to hide her blushed face.

"Swara, I don't want any misunderstandings in our relation which may impact beauty of it. So, I want you to share and discuss everything with me, be it happiness or any sadness or any problem or any other thing. Don't keep it with yourself." Sanskar said in convincing calm tone, explaining his expectations from her.

Swara looked at him, with small smile. She understood why he was broaching this topic again, they both wanted to give final closure to this.

"You are right Sanskar. Yes, I had some assumptions earlier but then you cleared them all back when we went on dinner date. And as is said earlier, I trust you more than I trust myself" Swara replied with sincerity.

"I will never ever break your trust Swara." Sanskar said leaning towards her face to kiss her forehead for sealing his promise.

"I will share everything with you Sanskar. And there will be no place for any misunderstandings" Swara replied putting her right palm on his cheeks.

"By the way Rapunzel, you were quite observant during our teenage, I mean you still remember that I went on prom with her and I told her to wear black." Sanskar teased and asked the question which was nagging him from long time.

"It was not me only but entire school was gossiping about it. Kavita was flaunting like anything" Swara told scrunching her nose and rolling her eyes remembering the day.

Sanskar laughed loudly looking at her cute expressions.

"It was all because of Rohan" Sanskar said shaking his head, then he explained her how Rohan begged him for asking Kavita for Prom night.

Swara was laughing, she had kept her head on his chest when he was explaining her. Sanskar had wrapped his arm around her shoulder.

"Swara, Kavita had proposed me on prom night" Sanskar said after some moments.

Swara broke their hug and came face to face him staring at his eyes.

"I had rejected her that moment only, I never had any feelings for her even in my dreams" Sanskar replied genuinely caressing Swara's cheek.

Swara leaned over his chest once again to feel his heartbeat. She blinked her eyes several times to push back her happy tears. Sanskar had wrapped her in his embrace feeling her close to his heart. They stayed in each other's embrace for some moments nobody dared to break the beauty of their silence.

"It's 10:30 Sanskar, you should go home. Don't you want to go for office tomorrow." Swara said breaking their hug and moving her hair strand behind her ear.

"Naah, I am fine here" Sanskar replied in not caring attitude, trying to pull her back in his embrace.

"But I have college. This is last week and then study leave will start for next two weeks and after that exams for one week" Swara replied remembering her schedule for next month.

"And after four weeks it will be our marriage Swara" Sanskar said in husky voice. He was counting days, hours, minutes and seconds to spend each and every moment of his married life with his Rapunzel.

"Bye. Good night" Swara replied with wide eyes and shyness and opened the lock of the car.

"Bye Rapunzel. Good night" Sanskar replied when he saw Swara getting down from car.

Swara went inside home when she saw Sanskar's car crossing the main gate of Mehra House.

"They are made for each other. Right Anurag" Reva said, she was standing with her husband in their room's terrace looking down at her daughter and son-in-law.

"Yes, they both are happy and will care and love each other for entire life" Anurag said wrapping his arm around his beautiful wife.

Sanskar parked his car and entered his house typing something on his mobile. He was going towards his room when he saw his father who was leaving from study room.

"Hey Sanskar" Ram called him when he saw his son was about climb the stairs.

"Hey Dad, you did not sleep yet?" Sanskar asked him.

"Nope, Dev send SOW papers for Rickson deal to review. I was just going through with them." Ram said keeping his hand on his son's shoulder.

"Ohh Ok. I reviewed it earlier, I pointed out couple of conditions for amount disbursement time interval which needs update. We can discuss it during meeting with legal team" Sanskar informed, he was back to his business mood.

Both father and son got busy in their business discussions.

"Sanskar when did you come?" Sujata's voice broke the discussion flow gaining attentions from her husband and son.

"Hey Mom, I just came" Sanskar turned and replied to his mother.

"How was your day?" Sujata asked him cheerfully.

"It was amazing" Sanskar replied with smile.

"Sanskar, you should have asked Sahil as well to accompany you. I thought only you and Swara were going, so I did not ask, but when it was all of you. You should have taken him with you beta" Sujata said, she wanted her son to sort out his issues with his cousin.

After hearing Sahil's name, he clenched his fist to tightly that his knuckle became white. Ram and Sujata observed his sulked face and shared eye contact, they both were aware about Sanskar and Sahil's equation.

"Ohh Mom I forgot" Sanskar replied with fake smile, shrugging his shoulders.

"How can you forget Sanskar? He was at home only for entire evening" Sujata said in explaining tone.

"It's ok Sujata, let it be." Ram said covering up for his son. He was well aware why his son would have not asked his cousin for their evening hangout. He was well acquainted with Sahil's reputation.

"This time it's ok but next time ask him haan beta. I am going to Sumi Jiji's room to check if they need anything or not." Sujata said and went leaving father and son alone.

"Sanskar, your mom is unaware about her nephew's reckless behaviour, but I am glad that nothing is hidden from your eyes, and you are very well tackling them." Ram said patting his son's back. Ram's statement brought small smile on Sanskar's earlier grumpy face.

"Thanks dad. I hope Mom will also understand one day" Sanskar said shaking his head.

"Don't worry, you just concentrate on your life. Just enjoy this courtship period. It will strengthen your's and Swara's relation" Ram passed advice ruffling his son's hairs. They chatted for some time about business matters and then called the day off.

'Minus 1 from 56' Sanskar thought and closed his eyes with smily face holding his doll near his chest.

Next day, after breakfast Sanskar left for office, he was busy with his office work whereas Sahil went out informing that he is going to meet his friends.

"Hi Sahil" Kavita greeted him who was scrolling over messages from his phone. Sahil was waiting for her in Barista coffee shop, earlier they had message exchange where Sahil asked her to meet.

"Hey Kavita" Sahil replied checking her from top to bottom with smug smile.

"Stop drooling over me Sahil." Kavita replied in frustrated tone sitting on the chair.

"What will you have? Coffee?" Sahil asked trying to bring out the most polite tone from his vocal cords.

Soon waiter came to take their order and left when Sahil ordered one Mocha and one Latte for them.

"Why did you call me here?" Kavita asked him in irritation.

"I thought to try my luck with you lady" Sahil said cheekly.

"Don't fly so high Sahil" Kavita replied with anger. His clingy behaviour was getting on her nerves.

"Oopps, sore mood, bad luck. Yes I know, your trump card is gone out of your reach" Sahil said finally broaching the most sensitive topic.

"Come to the point, what do you want to say about Sanskar?" Kavita said, she was controlling her best not to burst out her anger over him.

"I know you are interested in him and I am in love with Anurag Mehra's precious possession. So why don't we become friends to get what we want?" Sahil said raising his hand in front of her for handshake.

"In your dreams Sahil. I know how much Sanskar hate you. I don't want to ruin my any chance to be with Sanskar because of you." Kavita replied with chuckle earning stern glare from Sahil.

"It's a heart-breaking moment. I thought we were friends after our dance a week back" Sahil said still trying his best to convince her, he needed her in his team to execute his plans.

"Shut up Sahil, that dance was to make Sanskar jealous. And I got what I wanted to achieve, he got jealous and took your hands away and I also believe he would have thrashed you." Kavita said with narrowed eyes and smirk.

Sahil laughed like maniac, which wiped off smirk for Kavita's face turning it into dumbfound expressions.

"Wake up call Ms. Kavita Roy, yes Sanskar got jealous, he even punched me breaking my nose but not for you it was for Swara." Sahil informed feeling pity over her.

"I have never seen him so desperate for any other thing. Swara is his weakness, he was miserable when I talked about her. Come on let's join our hands together so we can plan and ..." Sahil was desperate, he could not afford to lose Swara Mehra, she was his chicken who would hatch golden eggs.

"I don't need your help; I don't have any interest in counting myself in Sanskar's hate book because of you. I have already started making my moves towards him. So chill" Kavita replied in not caring attitude.

"Cut the crap Kavita. You cannot do anything by your own self. You don't know Sanskar. He would not even spare you a glance when he has his love by his side. Also, you would land in a deep shit if he even gets a hint of you trying to harm his love interest." Sahil warned raising his finger in front of her face.

"Thanks for coffee but no thanks for your advice. Grow up Sahil, I don't need anyone's help" Kavita replied shrugging her shoulders. She kept her mug with unfinished coffee back on table and left from there in her overconfidence.

'You have just lost your very last chance to win Sanskar Maheshwari, Ms. Kavita Roy. Hell, with her, I need to concentrate on my plan now' Sahil thought looking at retiring figure of Kavita shaking his head in negative. He had kept his hopes on her, but she turned him down arrogantly.

It was one week of Swara and Sanskar's engagement and their relation were going with steady flow. Sanskar was giving maximum attention and time to Swara. She was occupied with her college and exam preparations. They used to meet every day with the reason of dinner or long drive or studies. Sanskar had started helping her with studies whenever they both have time. He was guiding her on how to build business model or business case, how to highlight points on the presentation. Swara was content with this phase of her life, she was enjoying all pampering's from Sanskar and her family members.

Discussions about marriage preparation were taking a speed which resulted in finalization of venue, shopping list, guest list, fixing days and timings of the other ceremonies like cocktail party, sangeet, mehendi, haldi, shaadi, reception.

Swara and Sanskar were both flying high with excitement and were dreaming for their upcoming life.

"Hey Good morning Rapunzel" Sanskar gave call to Swara, he was going towards gym for his morning workout.

"Good Morning" Swara replied in sleepy tone. Now a days she was used to with her new nick name.

"Hey still sleepy?" Sanskar asked with chuckle.

"Yes, last night I was awake till 3 to finish my assignment" Swara replied still lying on the bed with closed eyes and continued "but it is still not done. I don't know what to do. It is so so hard."

"Rapunzel, do one thing come to office after your college, I will help you." Sanskar said with chuckle, he was imagining her cute antics which she now a days make in front of him.

"Are you sure? I mean you will be busy right?" Swara asked him opening her eyes and scrunching her forehead. She knew Sanskar was busy, he was taking too much load on himself, since once marriage rituals will start he would be occupied with them which would minimise his attention towards official issues.

"It's fine I can manage; my calendar is free from 6 onwards." Sanskar said and continued "and after your assignment we can go out for dinner"

"Don't you think we are eating too much outside now a days?" Swara asked sitting on her bed with support of headboard.

"Come on Rapunzel, I don't want to regret when we grew old that we missed anything in this courtship period." Sanskar replied with smile entering in gym.

"Ok I will come to office directly" Swara replied and continued "Now I need to go else I will be late for college. Today is last day, then study leave, I don't want to miss it."

"Sure, bye have a good day and meet you at 6 in my cabin" Sanskar replied.

"Bye Sanskar have a good day" Swara wished him and then cut the call. She smiled looking at his picture from her mobile screen, this had become their routine to chat in the morning.

It was evening and Swara's car entered Karma's business complex. It was huge complex with 5, 40 storey towers, Karma Head Office. Anurag and Maheshwari Men's cabins were on tower number 2 on 38th floor, the floor which was known as Sunshine Floor. Dinesh Kaka stopped the car at the entrance of tower number 2. Swara entered the building passing through the reception she was waiting for private elevator meant only for Mehra and Maheshwari family members along with some high profile dignitaries.

Kavita was leaving from the office she was frustrated over her PR head about the campaign discussions for their new Telecom product launch that time she saw Swara going towards private elevator meant only for Sunshine Floor access.

Kavita joined Karma a week back as their brand ambassador for South Asian Telecom company. She thought that after joining Karma she would be close to Sanskar and could spend time with him gaining his attention, but he was way too out of her reach. She even tried to meet him, but his PA Mike restricted her saying his boss calendar is busy and he does not meet anyone without appointment confirmation. She was not even allowed to go on Sunshine Floor, receptionist and security guards restricted her mentioning normal employees were not allowed to visit this exquisite floor. Her messages for lunch outs were not even seen by him. His ignorant behaviour was increasing her frustration to maximum level.

"Hey Swara, what a pleasant surprise? You here at office" Kavita greeted her from behind.

"Hi Kavita, I just came to meet everyone" Swara replied and entered elevator followed by Kavita. Receptionist or the Security gaurds did not stop her this time since she was accompanying their boss's daughter.

"Yes, I am also going to Sunshine floor. I desperately need to meet Sanskar. He needs to know lot of things." Kavita said with confidence in frustrated tone, she hoped her behaviour with Sanskar would create misunderstandings between Swara and Sanskar.

"Ohh" Swara replied with smile and asked, "when did you join Karma?"

"Just a week back, Sanskar was so adamant about me being an brand ambassador for Karma Telecom" Kavita stared flaunting her beauty and modelling career.

Swara smiled looking at her with nod. 'I am well aware about him Kavita now. Also, I know how you flaunt to create wrong impression. Sorry bad luck' she shook her head with thought.

'Ding' sound from elevator broke Swara's trance. They both came out and Swara was greeted by Mrs. Shirin floor admin head for Sunshine Floor. "Hello Ms. Mehra, welcome. You are coming after a long time"

"Yes, I came to meet Sanskar. Is he busy?" Swara asked politely.

"No Ms. Mehra, sir is in his cabin. You can walk straight to his cabin." Shirin replied walking along with Swara towards Sanskar's cabin. "and by the way congratulations for your engagement. You both make a great pair"

Kavita clenched her fist and rolled her eyes in her anger, but she understood she needed to control her burned feelings else it will impact adversely for her changes with Sanskar.

"Thank you, Mrs. Shirin," Swara replied with smile. Shirin turned to look at Kavita who was following them with scrunched eyebrows but did not say anything thinking she might be Swara's friend.

Swara knew way to Sanskar's cabin, since last time when she visited this floor his cabin was under renovation; her father showed her what changes they were making for welcoming their new CEO.

Mr. Sanskar Maheshwari. C.E.O. written in gold on the glass door, reading this title Swara felt swelling on her heart. She opened the knob of the door and Kavita surpassed her to enter in his cabin. Sanskar was typing something on his Mac.

"Hey Sanskar" Kavita entered in his cabin capturing his attention towards door.

Sanskar scrunched his eyebrows on frustration after looking at Kavita, but then broad smile adorned his lips when he saw Swara entering his cabin.

"Hey Swara, welcome" Sanskar greeted while getting up from his chair and going towards her. He was looking damn handsome in his dark grey Ted Baker suite, white shirt and grey tie.

"Hi Sanskar" Swara wished him back. She was wearing simple navy-blue colour kurti with red leggings and her laptop bag on her shoulder.

"How was your day? I thought you would come at 3 after your college" Sanskar said ignoring Kavita all together.

"No, I was with Kavya in library, finishing some notes for Financial Management" Swara replied in tired voice taking deep breath.

"Hi Sanskar, ohh god you are such a busy that you are not even acknowledging other person in your cabin" Kavita fumed in anger but still managed to bring smile on her lips.

"Hi Ms. Kavita, what makes you come here? In fact, how can you enter on this floor? This floor has restricted access for normal employees." Sanskar came back with his famous sarcastic reply with narrowed eyes.

"Ohh I came with Swara" Kavita shrugging her shoulders.

Sanskar looked at Swara with expression 'what did you do?'

Swara who passed lip side smile looking everywhere but not at him.

Kavita fumed in anger looking at their eye exchanges.

"Sanskar, just fire that Mr. Bansal he is acting like over smart with me, he was arguing with ME about the campaign and" Kavita burst out finally, but she could not finish as Sanskar interrupted her with cold voice. He was frustrated over her nagging behaviour.

"Ms. Kavita, Mr Bansal is quite senior to you, he is head of Advertising and PR for Karma Telecom from last 10 years and he is way too experienced. He reports to Telecom Marketing Director who reports to Marketing Divisional head. There are multiple organizational layers before you reach out to me. Don't forget, I am CEO holding much higher position in organizational ladder." Sanskar replied with stern and deep voice yet maintaining his professionalism.

Swara looked at Sanskar with bewilderment, she had seen his cold demeanor over the years but this Sanskar standing in front of her was at his extremes.

"But you are my friend Sanskar" Kavita could barely mumble looking at his cold demeanor. She had not expected him to be so blunt with her, she had expected his sarcastic reply and was ready to fight back with her words.

"I am your friend out of this building but inside this I am your boss, so behave professionally. I don't like employees taking benefits of their personal relations in their professional life." Sanskar said clenching his fist.

Kavita was crossing her limits and that too in front of Swara. He did not want to take slightest of chance for any misunderstandings between him and Swara. He would have detailed discussions with Swara later, but right now he wanted to deal with Kavita named 'alarming trouble'.

Kavita looked at him with open mouth in shock-stricken face.

Sanskar continued in intimidating voice, gritting his teeth, "Now will you please excuse us, I have very important things on my plate right now." Kavita looked at him, he had insulted her in best possible way that too in front of Swara her number one enemy as of today.
