Thanksgiving

"You've really never celebrated Thanksgiving before?" Dean asked, glancing over at Cas in shock. The two of them were in the car, on their way to Dean's house for their Thanksgiving break, the first Thanksgiving celebration Cas would ever experience.

"Never. My parents always thought it was wasteful to make such a large dinner just for us," Cas said, smiling.

"But the leftovers can be lunch for the next month! And the pie! Did you even have a pie?" Dean asked incredulously. Cas chuckled.

"No pie. Thanksgiving was just another day for us," he said. Dean shook his head, speechless.

"I can't believe this. I'm dating someone who's never celebrated Thanksgiving," Dean said. Cas slid over closer to Dean.

Does that mean we need to break up?" Cas asked, a teasing glimmer in his eyes. Dean glanced at Cas just long enough to kiss him on the forehead.

"As if. This is going to be the best Thanksgiving of your life, Castiel Novak, I am going to make sure of that," Dean said. Cas smiled again.

"I believe you. Halloween was great, after all," he said. Dean shook his head again.

"I can't believe you never went trick-or-treating either. You had no fun life experiences before me!" he exclaimed.

"But that means you've been around for all my first exciting experiences," Cas said. He leaned forward and murmured into Dean's ear, sliding his hand over Dean's thigh and up to brush against his crotch. "You like being my first, don't you?" Dean's hands tightened slightly on the steering wheel.

"For christ's sake, Cas, don't do that to me while I'm driving!" he said. Cas sat back, smirking proudly.

"I'm just paying you back for all the times you've done the same to me. Or worse! I have one down, twenty to go," he said.

"Oh come on, I haven't teased you that much!" Dean exclaimed. Cas raised his eyebrows disbelievingly.

"Do I need to list every single time? Because I can and I will," he said.

"Please don't," Dean said, suppressing a smile. "I'll take your word for it." Cas nodded in satisfaction and leaned his head against Dean's shoulder. Neither of them spoke for a few minutes, simply enjoying each other's company, Cas practically glowing with pride at Dean's reaction to his teasing. Cas had been so insecure at the beginning of their relationship, and he never could have imagined being so comfortable with anyone. But as far as Cas had come over the course of their relationship, he still couldn't help but feel some anxiety at the prospect before him.

"Your family... Do you think they'll like me?" Cas asked, his voice quiet.

"They're going to love you, Cas. What's not to love? You're amazing," Dean said. Cas lifted his head back off Dean's shoulder.

"You have to say that, you're my boyfriend, it's in your job description. But... I just... Your dad, what if he doesn't like me? The way you talk about him, what if he-"

"Cas. It's going to be fine. Sam's going to love you, and if my dad doesn't, he's an asshole anyway. Don't get tied up worrying about him and what he thinks, because I promise you it doesn't matter. I love you," Dean said. Cas smiled and leaned against Dean again, reassured, at least for now. Cas could think of no one in this world he would rather be with.
