Coffee
Dean checked his watch for the fifteenth time. Ten minutes late. Dean was starting to give up hope. This would be the third time in one week. He really liked Cas, but... It just seemed like Cas wasn't as interested. Dean sighed and stood up. He had no idea if Cas would be in his dorm, but the sooner Dean broke this off, the better.
It took Dean a while to find Cas' dorm, but he finally got there. As he stood in front of the door, he wondered if he could really go through with this. Cas was perfect. He was shy, but once he let you in, he was funny, sweet, and that brand of awkward that only Cas could be. Dean wanted- oh, he wanted so badly- to just stick it out... But no. Three times in one week was too much. Dean had been through this before, he wasn't going to do it again. He knocked on the door. No one answered. Maybe Cas wasn't there. Dean knocked again just to be sure.
"Come in." The voice was so soft and muffled Dean couldn't even be sure it was Cas. He opened the door, and blinked at the darkness that greeted him. All the lights were off and the blinds were down on the windows. Cas couldn't have overslept, could he? It was the middle of the afternoon, Cas really didn't seem the type to sleep that late.
"Cas?" Dean asked tentatively, stepping inside and closing the door behind him. The pile of cloth on one of the beds moved slightly and Cas' face appeared near the top.
"Dean? Oh... Oh that was today... Oh..." Cas sat up, his face a mask of guilt.
"I... I came to talk about that, actually," Dean said, summoning his courage.
"I'm sorry, Dean, I really am... I wanted to be there," Cas said quietly.
"So why weren't you?" Dean asked. Cas swung his legs out of the bed and walked across the room to Dean, flicking the lights on before turning around and walking back to the middle of the room. Dean noticed he was still in his pajamas.
"I... Sometimes I have a hard time getting out of bed," Cas said, facing away from Dean, slouching for the first time Dean had ever seen.
"You mean... Like depression?" Dean asked, taking a step forward. Cas' right hand went to his left arm, rubbing up and down slightly.
"I guess," Cas murmured. Dean took a few more steps and put his hand on Cas' shoulder. Cas looked around at him, shame filling his eyes.
"If you came here to break it off, I get it. You can't date someone who isn't there," he said. Dean leaned forward and pecked Cas on the cheek. Depression was awful, but Dean couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. Cas was interested after all.
"Hey, it's okay. Just... Tell me next time something's up, okay?" Dean said. Cas turned fully to look at Dean, looking confused.
"You're not... Leaving?" He asked.
"No, but you are. Grab some clothes, you have a coffee date to get to," Dean said, grinning. "I'll meet you in the hall in five minutes." Dean started for the door so Cas could change, but Cas grabbed his hand and stopped him. Dean turned towards Cas.
"What-" he was promptly cut off by Cas' lips on his, soft and warm. It was just like Dean had imagined it, and it was amazing. Cas pulled away a second later, smiling softly.
"Out in the hall in five. Got it," he said. Dean nodded and walked to the door, grinning like a love-struck fool. Cas was amazing.
