Chapter 22

Summary of previous chapter: Karma and Isuju broke up and decided to stay as friends. Asano noticed Isuju walking alone after that and decided to bring her somewhere

this is long overdue

---

The duo sat on the sand, staring at the ships in the far horizon. Isuju broke whatever twigs and branches she could find on the sand around her, folding them multiple times while keeping quiet.

"I brought you to this place for a reason," Asano irked at the sound of the snapping twigs," and not to break branches, do that and I'll break your organs."

"My heart is already broken you bastard," she coughed and muffled her voice in her arms as she hugged her knees.

"Oh I heard that," he pushed her, making her fall over onto the sand.

"Fish you," she glared at him as soon as she got up.

"Thank you," Asano smiled on purpose, mainly to irritate her," I love fishes."

"Well let's see how much you love them once that sucker is shoved up your as-"

She was then cut off by Asano's hand slapping over her mouth.

He glared at her, telling her not to swear. Isuju pushed his hand away irritatedly, now she was wondering whether he was comforting her or just pissing her off.

"Excuse me, are you trying to make me happy?" Isuju questioned before a veined appeared on her forehead," because clearly, you are doing an extremely horrible job."

Asano smiled to himself, now happy that she was happier than she was before.

"Well to be honest I wouldn't shove the fish up there anyway," Isuju said as she rested her chin on her hand," it'll be considered animal abuse, both for the fish and yo-"

"You really know how to piss a guy off don't you," he gritted his teeth as he spoke, stiffening his jaw.

"God's gift for me," Isuju gave him a sarcastic smile," I'm blessed with a beautiful talent."

She then changed the subject, asking him why he had brought her there. She looked at the scenery, but did not appreciate it one bit.

"Can't you see for yourself? Don't you have eyes to look?" Asano said, gesturing at the sea and the sky.

She buried her eyes in her arms, looking down," yea I'm blind."

Isuju then felt a strong yank on her collar, pulling her head up.

"Oi-"

Before she could make a comment about his actions, he cut her off.

"If you can't see the scenery then freaking feel it. Not only your eyes are needed to enjoy a stupid view," His words had determination, he said it sincerely and strongly.

She closed her eyes as she felt a gentle sea breeze brushing against her skin, blowing the straying strands off her white hair. The waves washed in and out off the beach, leaving behind some white bubbles every time it receded.

She tasted salty air whenever she breathed, at the same time smelling the wet grass from behind them.

Isuju then opened her eyes, proceeding to do what Asano had brought her here for.

The stars gleamed brightly as they hung high up in the sky, dotting the navy blue night sky. The stars and the moon combined to form a happy face, it was either that or Koro-sensei was secretly somewhere hanging out in the sky.

The water reflected the sky, creating a mirror image. It was sparkling due to the stars in the sky.

That was only for the sky above the sea. Behind her, around half a kilometer back, the sky was dull and gloomy, it wasn't going to rain, but something about the atmosphere made her feel cold and uneasy.

Asano saw her rubbing her arms and shivering slightly. He then proceeded to take away the rubber bands and clips that held her hair up into a bun, letting her hair go past her shoulders, reaching the bottom of her back.

Isuju brushed her middle portion of her hair back to prevent it from covering her face, then rested her head on her knees and faced him.

"Thank you," she smiled as she muttered.

Tears started welling up in her eyes at the gesture, it reminded her so much of Karma. Karma would have done that if she was cold, and at the same time tuck the strands of hair behind her ears.

However, he wouldn't do that anytime soon. Isuju believed that Karma would win her back, and she's betting on it.

"Stop thinking about Akabane," he ruffled her hair as he sat closer to her, now staring down at her face.

Isuju looked up at him, noticing the distance between them shortening even second. As their noses came into contact, she knew, she knew that if she went on, she would lament over her stupid actions afterwards. However, she didn't retreat, neither did she move on forward.

It was the longest 7 seconds she had ever experienced, and she had hated those 7 seconds as she felt guilty about her feelings towards Karma and Asano.

Asano then removed his hand from her hair and stood up from his position, giving her a hand to help her up. It wasn't that he didn't want to continue, but he knew that she would regret it.

Isuju stood up, dusting the sand of her skirt while the wind helped her, at the same time it rustled the bushes and trees behind them.

She turned around, looking at the dried leaves of the bushes which made the sound before turning back and facing Asano. They then turned and walked in the direction if her house.

It was weird how the world works. It was as if the skies had told Karma that Asano and Isuju were at the beach, and it was as if the skies gave Karma sweat for his eyeballs.

---

Let me just say this from my point of view, since Asano was born and knew how to speak, he had never once not known what to say. For the first time in forever, Asano Gakushuu actually feels awkward.

He then felt something after pondering for a moment. There wasn't a need to say anything, it was silence that engulfed them, but it was more of a comfortable silence than an awkward one. Isuju cherished the silence that they had and used it as a time to get things off her mind.

When they had reached the doorstep of her house, she stared at the lock of a moment, before turning back to Asano.

"Ne Asano," Isuju said," how strong are you?"

Asano, raised his eyebrow the sudden question, proceeding to ask her further," Wha-"

"Oh who am I kidding, you're Asano Gakushuu, your strength doesn't need to be questioned," Isuju glanced at the door while going around her house, dragging Asano along too. The two stood below her balcony and looked at her open window.

"Give me a boost," Isuju said as she rolled up her sleeves. Asano, knowing Isuju enough not to question her actions as she always meant what she said, sighed and pulled up his pants so as to not restrict his movement.

Asano cupped his hands together and squatted, letting Isuju step on his hands before leaping up to her balcony.

Little did Isuju know Asano had caught a glimpse of heaven when she leaped up.

---

"So how's life?" Irina asked when she saw her sister coming down from the stairs.

Isuju went to the kitchen and opened the fridge while replying," life is shitty, pretty sure it couldn't get any shittier."

"Well I think it's possible," Irina leaned against the kitchen counter and frowned," Gakuho wanted me to tell you that you have to deliver a special speech if you want to go back to Class A."

Isuju paused in her actions, her back facing Irina. She knew very well what Irina was talking about. Any student that had went back to classes in the main building from Class E always delivered a special 'speech'.

The refrigerator beeped after the door was opened for too long. That didn't even snap her out of her thoughts. Isuju stood still, her hand gripping tightly onto the milk carton that she held.

She didn't want to face the truth, but she was going to have to do it if she had wanted to return to Class A. She was going to make the same mistake like Asano did to her when she realized what was going to happen in the near future.

Isuju stared at the letter from Gakuho that Irina had handed to her. She opened it and read the contents.

Isuju, this is the script that you have to read at the upcoming monthly assembly, I wrote this personally for you so study this properly -Gakuho-

Dear fellow Class A to Class D students, as some of you may know, I used to from Class E, disgusting, I know. The past few months with Class E has been nothing but straight up hell.

The students are literally trying to kill their teachers, bullying their teachers by ganging up against them.

The students who are violent monstrosities will inevitably grow up to make money by stealing or other stupid activities. The male students who play around with the bimbos would inevitably grow up to be pedophiles. And there are actually students who are willing to steal females' underwear and bring it wherever they go-

"I can't continue reading this," Isuju put the paper down which was now crumpled due to her gripping.

"Why do you wanna go back to Class A anyway? Asano did so much harm to my little sister," Irina questioned.

"I don't know," Isuju said," I'll just deliver the speech while hoping ten thousand sumo wrestlers fall out of the sky and crush everyone."

"Or I can just assassinate Asano Gakuho," Isuju thought aloud. Suddenly, an idea hit her and she thought of something.

Oh this plan is definitely going to work.
