Training

Daikon watched from his usual sitting spot as Chi-Chi and that strange girl were arguing in front of Gohan. He zoned out half of the time, but caught bits and pieces of it. Apparently, the stalker chick found out where Gohan lives and was demanding for her flying lessons.

Daikon still wears his Gi as he felt more comfortable than his expensive Armor. He just sits around, relaxing while hearing the two harpies yelling at each other, before his youngest nephew revealed how his SIL is stronger than the chick.

After some convincing, Gohan was allowed to help Videl to fly. He signals to Videl and Goten to follow him to the open meadow behind his home. On his way, he looked down at the laying Daikon.

Gohan: Wanna come, Uncle? Maybe you'll get to see Goten fly today!

Daikon raised his brow as he opens his eyes to look at his eldest nephew. He sighs while mumbling something inaudible under his breath but Gohan was pretty sure it was more profanity. He rose to his feet, glaring at the still suspicious girl while doing so.

Daikon: Fine. Just for the runt to learn how to fly.

The group of four headed towards the grassy meadow. Videl was starring at Daikon's wrapped around tail the entire time, still not sure how it was a fashion accessory.

Videl: So, can I ask you something?

Daikon: Ugh... *rolls eyes* What?

Videl played with the black tresses of one of her pig tails, curling it around her finger while managing a glare his direction.

Videl: You know... Gohan told me you're from Cinnamon City. However it's a long, long way from here yet you're around Gohan all the time...what's the deal?

Daikon: The fuck is a Cinna-

Gohan turned around abruptly to face the suspicious girl and upfront grandfather, sweating profusely. The darn girl already found out the secret of Saiyaman, she didn't need to know anything else!

Gohan: Yeah, you know, Uncle! Your good old home, Cinnamon City.

Daikon stares at him, not appreciating the lie. However, he had no choice but to comply.

Daikon: I'm just taking a vacation to visit estranged relatives.

Videl nodded, remaining suspicious but deciding to let it go. She would have plenty of time to figure out this stranger she didn't trust one bit. Not to mention, his nephew.

The group of four started up again, and Videl was staring at the back of Gohan while slightly blushing at the way his muscles were out on full display from his tank. With all of his long sleeves he wore to school, she would have never guessed he was the type to workout.

The crew abruptly stopped, Gohan waving his arms in a full circle around them to emphasize this was the place they were going to learn how to take flight.

Gohan: Welcome to my Dojo!

The teen laughed while Daikon and Videl just stared at him oddly, but Goten joined in on the laughter.

Gohan: Well, first things first! Let's all sit around in a circle!

Videl: Are we having some sort of campfire, or are we going to learn how to fly!?

Daikon looks at her and gave a smirk. She's annoying, but she wastes no time.

Gohan chuckled, trying to calm her down.

Gohan: I just need to explain a couple of things before we start, and since I don't know how long it's going to take I didn't want our legs growing tired.

Daikon shot him a look, but Gohan just pleaded with his eyes to keep his mouth shut. Of course, they were fine standing up for hours. It was Videl he was concerned with.

The group sat on the grass, Goten eagerly awaiting to hear what Gohan had to say while Videl impatiently began to tap her fingers against her crossed arms. Daikon, remaining indifferent, opted to stay silent and let the kid do what he wanted.

Gohan: In order to learn how to fly, one must understand about energy. Basically, you take control of said energy and then you sort of put it underneath you and then that energy holds you up!

Goten nods as Daikon stayed stoic, knowing he could fly.

Videl: What the heck do you mean 'energy'!?

Daikon stoicness turns to annoyed.

Gohan: Well, it's like a power you can feel inside of your body!

Videl self consciously covered up her chest even more, slightly offended.

Videl: Who are you to be talking about my body!?

Gohan: Oh, I don't know if I can find the right words for this-

Daikon: Let's show her, Goten.

Goten nods as both stood up and fired a Ki Blast together to a rock. The rock explodes as Videl looks on in shock while Gohan have a nervous chuckle, not happy his brother and uncle did that.

Videl: It's a trick!

Daikon growls as he goes to yell but Goten jumps and covers his mouth, not wanting him to kill the chick. Gohan chuckles as he remembers Hercule's favorite word during the Cell Games as Daikon calms down.

Gohan: No. I assure you it's real.

Videl: WELL IF IT ISN'T A TRICK, I'VE NEVER SEEN IT BEFORE MY ENTIRE LIFE!

Daikon scoffs as he rolls his eyes. Goten have him a glare, telling to not hurt her. Daikon gave a "Alr" look before turning to Videl.

Daikon: What the brat is saying, chick, is that that blast was from energy building up inside you. It's called Ki, and we grown with that kind of training to manipulate how we do it. Like this.

Daikon's hair stood up as his body glows as a sounds was heard...

and...

Goten and Videl look on with shock and amazement as Daikon stops the beam as smoke comes out of his mouth.

Daikon: See?

Videl was in shock and fear. This is the same man that roared a beastly roar at Sharpener in her High School. And he fires a beam from his mouth.

Daikon: That's why you need to build up your Ki in order to fly.

Gohan: Y-yeah. Like he said.

Videl nods as she gets a determined to do it.

Gohan: Hey, Goten, can you and Uncle go play somewhere else? I need to teach Videl how to use her energy.

Goten pouted, wanting to see all of the action take place but Daikon was already reaching a hand down to him.

Daikon: Come on, runt. I don't want you hearing this baby Harpy yelling when she fails.

Videl: Hey! I can and will learn!

Daikon shrugs as Goten reached up to wrap his small hand around his grandfather's before he waved goodbye to Gohan.

*later*

Daikon is seen with Goten as there a place for themselves.

Daikon: Okay, Goten. I want to teach you how to fly. I know you have that Flying Nimbus or whatever, but it would be beneficial for you to know to fly.

Goten: Okay.

Daikon: And I want to show you how to fight. I know your mother teach you, but she doesn't know a good Saiyan training. Has the brat teach you anything?

Goten: Well... not really.

Daikon: *popped a vein on his forehead* Okay, then. But you know the basics. Now, try to fly.

Goten; Okay.

Soon, Goten starts jumping as Daikon looks at him confused.

Daikon: What are you- That is not flying. You're just jumping.

Goten: I'm trying.

Each time he jumps and falls down as Daikon was getting agitated.

Daikon: Kid... focus on your Ki! Hopping isn't the same as flying!

Goten landed on the grass, his joyful expression suddenly becoming serious as he nodded at his uncle. He was determined to learn how to fly; to be able to go up in the sky without relying on Nimbus so he could start really training with his big brother. The child's eyebrows furrowed as he focused on the center of his body, feeling all of his energy there.

The grass around the two blew furiously for a moment, Daikon raised a brow at his youngest Nephew.

Daikon: Keep focusing, kid! I think you're almost there!

His lips lifted up to reveal pearly white fangs once Goten began to levitate up. The bastard was smiling, Kami help him, actually smiling!

Daikon: That's it! Focus! You're getting close!

Goten awkwardly moved through the sky, trying to get the hang of being at a higher elevation. He was grinning and laughing wildly, the joy in his eyes reflecting in his uncle's smile. He had been hoping and wanting to learn one of the biggest skills by his brother, but maybe Daikon wasn't a bad choice after all. The child moved in a straight horizontal line, cheering and getting the hang of it.

Goten: I'm a birdie! I'm a birdie!

Daikon: Don't go too high up kid, you're still fresh to this and-

Goten suddenly fell down but Daikon grabs him by the back of his Gi.

Daikon: I was gonna tell you you'll have no energy left to stay afloat. *pokes him in the forehead* Got that clear?

Goten: Uh, huh!

Chi-Chi: KIDS, LUNCH TIME!

Daikon hears the unmistakable voice of his harpy SIL as his stomach began to growl. He then sets Goten on his shoulder and walks off to head back to his family's home.

Daikon: You at least know how to fly. We will continue in order to help you build up more Ki so you last longer. Honestly... you did better than I expect, and I know you'll get better soon.

Goten: Wow, you really mean it, Uncle?!

Daikon nods and the two started walking back to the house. The smile couldn't leave Goten's face as he realized his Uncle sat him on shoulder.

*later*

We see the five eating what Chi-Chi cooked for lunch. While Gohan and Goten ate like their father, Daikon ate as he usually does, slowly and less.

Goten: Come on, Uncle. Eat more. Don't want you going back in an empty stomach.

Daikon looks at him with a narrowed face before Chi-Chi spoke.

Chi-Chi: He's right, Daikon. You should at least eat some more now you're a place with enough food to eat.

Daikon: Trust me, Chi-Chi. If I started to eat like these two, I would devour the entire planet.

Gohan: No way.

Daikon was about to say something but then he shuts up, remembering Videl was here.

Videl: Wow, This looks great, Chi-Chi! * Taking a bite of the rice, the girl's eyes lit up* Wow! This is great! I should give this recipe to our cook!

Chi-Chi: Cook? Does your family own a restaurant!?

Videl: No, the cook in our house.

The boys hungrily and nosily ate away, ignoring the conversation going in between them. Gohan tried sneaking a meatball away from Daikon, but the older Saiyan jammed his chopstick on his hand. Gohan grunts as he looks like a hurt puppy as Daikon ate the meatball while smirking at Gohan.

Chi-Chi: Your family must be loaded! How many rooms do you have in your house, anyway!? Ten!? Twenty!?

Videl tapped her chin, trying to think while Chi-Chi looked at her in disbelief. She didn't actually think the girl had that big of a home!

Videl: Hm... I think about 50.

Chi-Chi: 50?! *looks at Gohan* You're planning on marrying this girl, right!?

Gohan spit his rice out, the remains splattering all over the faces of Daikon and Goten. Goten was unfazed as he continues to smile while Daikon scowls with a growl.

Goten: Hey... Does this mean Videl is going to be my sister?

The teenager jumped to his feet, waving his bowl of rice and chopsticks around frantically.

Videl: YOU GUYS ARE SO EMBARRASSING! I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!"

Videl side-eyed him, a slight blush on her face as she suddenly thought about living on this secluded, peaceful, and beautiful place with the awkward yet adorable boy, his sweet little brother, his hard-working mother, and his rough on the edges Uncle.

Blinking the thought away, Videl cleared her throat and fully looked at the frantic teen.

Videl: I think I'm done eating for now, Gohan-

Daikon rolls his eyes as he mocks her while Goten giggles at the faces he made.

Videl: Do you think we can try making the energy ball again?

Eager to get out of the embarrassing situation he was in, the boy quickly thanked his mother and grabbed Videl's wrist, running to the meadow they were in prior to his humiliating lunch.

Daikon: You know... there's something even us Saiyan don't force. And that's forcing others in mating when one doesn't like the other.

Goten: I think Videl is nice, Uncle.

Daikon: You're a child, Goten. Not raised in the hardships I went through. Though I do agree Videl has some qualities, she just needs to stop acting like she's smarter and stronger than everyone.

Goten nods with a smile as they resume eating. Chi-Chi forgot about imagining her eldest son's wedding and was amazed at Daikon being this gentle towards his youngest nephew.

*later*

Daikon is seen floating over Goten as he watches him slowly trying to fly. After a good hour of levitating up, the boy was able to get higher each time. The goal was to get up high enough for a good fight, and not end up falling this time.

Daikon had his hands crossed over his chest, tapping his fingers impatiently against his biceps while Goten kept going higher and higher.

Daikon: Good. Now stop there.

The boy obeyed as Daikon brought himself towards him. He felt his muscles relax realizing the child was no longer straining to stay up.

Daikon: Alright. Now hit me.

Goten: Huh?

Daikon: *smirks* Yeah. Your Uncle can handle it.

Goten grinned, and raised a fist back by his by ear. He closed the distance between himself and his grandfather, his arm extending until his fist crushed against the side of Daikon's jaw. To the boy's shock, his Uncle turned his head against the impact while still smirking.

Daikon: Good shot. But you're going to have to move faster than that!

Daikon raised his leg towards the outside of his body, passing the front of him at an alarming speed, and dropped it down to the much shorter Goten. The heel of Daikon's foot hit Goten on the face gently, but still sent him spiraling downwards.

Daikon: Catch yourself, Goten!

Goten felt his eyes swell up with tears, but fought to keep them at bay. He stopped himself right before he hit the ground, and glowered up at his Uncle with determination. He let out a small yell, feeling his energy push himself up at he charged back towards his Uncle.

Daikon looks on with excitement as he goes into a fighting stance.

Daikon: That's my boy.

*later*

Daikon and Goten are seen watching Gohan teach Videl how to fly. Goten however was excited about flying as he does a Figure 8 in the sky, making Videl jealous and Daikon trying to hide his disapproval.

Soon, after rightfully talking about how her long would be a disadvantage for her, Videl thought Gohan likes short haired girl and ran off in embarrassment.

Daikon shook his head as looks down at his eldest nephew.

Daikon: That attitude would get her into trouble.

Gohan: I know.

Daikon: ... Both your mother and her would make great Saiyans with that kind of attitude.

Gohan: Sometimes I wonder if they're really Saiyans.

Daikon chuckles.

Daikon: Anyway, how about you teach your brother and I something, as you promised?

Gohan nods as Goten flies down as they behind to learn what Gohan would teach them.

Gohan: Now are you familiar with the Kamehameha Wave?

Goten shook his head as Daikon remembers something.

Daikon: Isn't it that one attack you tried to use before I turned Super Saiyan?

Gohan: Yeah, that one. And it's super useful. My dad told me he used this against Vegeta during their first fight and nearly sent him back to space!

Daikon: Hell yeah! How do you master it?!

The teenager instructed them to cup their hands to their sides, demonstrating the position as well.

Gohan: Alright, now concentrate your ki! Now charge the attack, like this!

The trio concentrated their energy in the single point between their cupped hands.

Gohan: Kaaaameeee...

[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]

Goten: Haaaameee...

Daikon: HAAAAAAAAAA!

[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]

Gohan's blast was sent flying through the meadow first, followed by Goten's, and then Daikon's. While Gohan and Goten have the classic blue, Daikon's was yellow with a spiral around it.

Soon the beams fade as Daikon looks at his hands in amazement. He mainly used his Mouth Beam to fire a big blast, but this was different. A welcomed change.

Gohan: Just imagine, Uncle.

Gohan patted him the back, and was surprised Daikon didn't snarl. He was looking at him with confidence.

Gohan: If you put even more energy into that, and as a Super Saiyan, just imagine what you can do!

Daikon: *in his mind* No, I will not fucking smile this time.

He lied.

*later at night*

A week went by as Daikon, Gohan, and Goten trained hard for the World Martial Arts Tournament coming tomorrow. All the while, his nephew has him meet his friends who are also his brother's friends.

During this, he always here about how his brother was some hero, this savior and it always annoys him, but it was mostly from guilt. I mean, compared to him, Daikon was destined to go to Hell with the other Saiyans. Kakarot was allowed to be in Paradise due to him being a hero to his planet and the galaxy.

Sure Daikon has stopped committing genocide, but that doesn't mean he stopped killing any living being, no matter it they're good or bad. Would Kakarot ever view him, the Saiyan who murdered as many people as Vegeta, as a brother?

Raditz didn't do him any favors. Even in death, his older brother was a pain in the ass to him.

Daikon sighs as he finally goes to sleep. Until he sees another vision. This time with the strange purple haired 'Shin' who fought alongside Gohan against this impossible to beat pink blob, and the image of Prince Vegeta with an 'M' stamped on his forehead in the back of his mind.

*later*

The 25th World Martial Arts Tournament has arrive as everyone was hear. Daikon looks around and sees how lively the place is. It makes sense to him as it's a time where fighters all over the world partake in a fight to win the honor and prize.

Daikon looks over and sees the friends Kakarot has made. After hearing their stories, it was surprising how most of them became friends with his brother after trying to kill him or fight in some rivalry.

His train of thought was interrupted as Gohan drags him to meet with someone. This someone being a Namekian who wore this outfit with a headdress and shoulder pads with a cap.

Gohan: Uncle this is Piccolo. He and my dad were rivals years ago and have become friends.

Daikon looks up at the taller Namekian and brings his arm up. Piccolo responds with his own as they shook their hands.

Piccolo: So, Dende was right. Goku's other brother has appeared.

Gohan: Yeah. I hope he's filled you in on everything, because I'm getting exhausted explaining it!

Daikon: Well excuse me for not blending it, you little shit.

Piccolo chuckles as he looks at Gohan.

Piccolo: That outfit. Are you really going to fight in that?

Gohan: Yeah.

Daikon shook his head as he walks off, trying to sense his brother.

Chi-Chi: And where in the world could Goku be? Gosh. Maybe they weren't able to bring him back.

Krillin: I'll go com the area.

Yamcha: Ya me too.

Suddenly, they were heard a strange yet familiar sound.

[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]

Everyone turned and they heard a voice they haven't heard in years but recognize.

Goku: Hey! I'm Back!

Gohan and Piccolo were the first to respond.

Gohan: Dad, it's you!

Piccolo: Goku...

Krillin: Woah. Pinch me.

Goku: Wow. You guys sure changed a lot in seven years. Gohan... you're giant.

Gohan laughs in happiness as he sees his father for the first time in seven years. Krillin was tearing up, seeing his best friend back after so long. Everyone was tearing as they missed their best friend.

Chi-Chi was emotional seeing her husband back in the living world. Piccolo and Master Roshi kept a composed demeanor but were happy to see Goku again.

Vegeta looks on as while he remained stoic, he really did miss Kakarot. Goten anf Trunks were confused but Goten was also a bit emotional as he's seeing the man many told him about. His father, the Hero, has returned, and he's seeing him for the first time.

Daikon meanwhile...

He couldn't really react. He's now seeing his baby brother for the first time in nearly 3 decades, all grown up, a happy to be back. Seeing how everyone is reacting to seeing him return, showing how much they missed him and loved him, it confirmed to him that Kakarot was a larger than life being.

Goku: So guys. Are you just gonna stare at me all day?

Everyone immediately ran up to him and hug him while Chi-Chi, Goten, and Daikon remained behind as she fights the urge to hug her husband.

Chi-Chi: Oh, sweetheart. I missed you.

Goku: ... I missed you, Chi-Chi.

Soon, Goku finally met his eyes on Daikon. Daikon was so caught up by looking at his brother that he didn't notice Goten hiding behind his leg.

Everyone grew silent, watching as Goku stood before the two members of his family he had never met before. It was hard to tell what he was feeling with that usual happy expression hard to wipe off his face, but Gohan could see his father's body tense up a bit as he approached Daikon.

The Saiyan hero looked into the widened eyes of his brother, slightly touching his own face when realizing he was almost looking into a mirror minus the long hair and the height difference.

During his time in Other World, King Kai had been telling him about all the adventures and moments Daikon had been sharing with his sons and wife, and Goku couldn't see the Saiyan monster he was meant to be looking at. There was still a little tint of something under the surface of his dark orbs, but it was the same situation with Vegeta and Goku held no fear to his old rival at all.

A smile spread across the face of the fallen hero as he extended a hand towards Daikon for him to shake. Daikon looks at it before giving a smile while wrapping his hand around his to shake.

Soon, Goku sees some spiky hair behind his brother's leg and sees a smaller version of him, no doubt being his second son, Goten.

Goku: Hey, there's a tiny me behind your leg.

Daikon looked down at the child who was now beginning to emerge, and nudged him towards the other Saiyan who was now kneeling down so they could be closer in height.

Daikon: Say hello, Goten. He's a good man.

Goten looks up and sees his father and spoke.

Goten: I'm Goten.

Goku: And I'm Goku. Hi.

The boy bit his lower lip, somehow feeling like he was going to cry. The two looked at each other for a moment longer, and Goten just couldn't hold it in. Tears fell from his eyes as he closed the distance between himself and his daddy, crying while Goku caught him in his arms.

Goten: Daddy!

Goku and Goten hugged as play around while everyone looks on with amazement and fondness. Daikon meanwhile smiles as he watches the scene with a father and son meeting for the first time.

Daikon: Welcome back, Kakarot...
