The next evening is the day of the Harveston Sledathon, and the race is about to begin with all the contestants setting their sleds and stuffed animals up.

"Today's the day!" Briar says, excited, "It's the Harveston Sledathon and the big race!"

Epel says, "It's finally time for the big race! Can't you feel the tension?"

"I certainly can," Jade says.

However, Epel notices, "You don't look tense at all, Jade..."

Grim notices, "Hey, Sebek! You've been shiverin' this whole time. Still not used to the cold, eh?"

"I'm not shivering. I'm simply trembling with anticipation for our victory!" Sebek says.

"He's not the only one. I'm excited too," Jasper says.

"I'm nervous to be honest," Tanzanite says.

"Me too," Sereia says.

"It's okay. No matter what happens, we'll be sure to have a great time," Briar says.

Soon, Marja calls out, "Come over here, Epel."

Hearing his grandmother, Epel walks over to ask, "What is it, Grandma?"

"I want you to wear this," Marja says, and presents her cloak to him.

Epel is shocked, "What?! But it's your cloak! Why are you giving it to me?"

"You used to love this cloak when you were little. You'd always pat it and get all bright-eyed whenever I wore it," Marja says.

"I guess I did, huh? That takes me back..." Epel replies.

Then Marja says, "I sewed it myself. It's a traditional part of our applepoms. And I've worn it in plenty of sledathons myself."

"Whoa, Granny was a musher?!" Grim asks, surprised.

"Oh yes! I was our team leader, as a matter of fact," Marja says, and explains, "We never lost a race back then, even when we were up against more than a hundred teams. I was actually kind of famous back in those days. Heh heh, it's a little embarrassin' to say now... They even made a cartoon years later based on my sled team."

Idia reacts in surprise, "...Wait, I'm sorry, WHAT?!" And asks, Marja, "Are you talking about Beauties Sleeping, the main team in Sled Over Heels?!"

"That's the one! You're pretty well-informed for a young'un," Marja says.

"So that means that Epel's grandma is the inspiration for Ai, the team leader!" Idia says, surprised.

"What?! She is?!" Epel asks, shocked.

And soon, India gets all crazy, "DUUUDE. SHE'S BEST GIRL BY FAR! Would you autograph my Sled Over Heels guidebook? And can I take a picture with you?!

Marja is taken aback by surprise, "Goodness, what's all this now?"

"So Epel's grandmother inspired the Sled Over Heels anime. How very interesting," Jade says.

"This is the best anime pilgrimage ever! It's 10 billion levels beyond cool! I'm so glad I came to Harveston!" Idia says.

Jasper whispers to Tanzanite, "Even though he was thinking of chickening out."

Tanzanite giggles.

Then Marja says to Epel, "Epel, I want you to wear the cloak I always did when I won my races. I retailored it a bit last night to make sure it'd fit."

"Golly... I'm touched," Epel says, surprised, "Thanks a bunch, Meemaw!" He then takes the cloak and puts it on, "It's so warm and cozy! And it fits just right! The apple and flower embroidery's incredible too!"

Marja smiles, "You look just like a picture. My little grandbaby's all grown up..." and soon, begins to shed tears.

Epel asks, "Meemaw, are you crying?"

"No, silly! The snow's reflectin' the sun into my eyes, that's all," Majra says.

Jade comments, ""Look at the lovely snowflakes on the shoulders. This truly is an exquisite cloak. You're looking more gallant already, Epel.

"I'm sure it shall further kindle your spirit," Sebek says.

"It looks pretty," Sereia says.

"Looks cool," Jasper says.

"And it's nice," Tanzanite says.

Trinket nods in response.

Idia soon realizes, "YOOO! It's just like the cloak Ai wears!

"You look really good, Epel!" Briar says.

"Thanks, that's nice of you to say!" Epel says

"I'm tickled pink you like it so much, Epel," Marja says.
