Happy Birthday Lilia!
Meanwhile at the diasomnia lounge....
"Happy birthday Lilia!" Glory chirps and the older fae chuckled softly.
"Thank you. I don't think I'm getting any older than this, but it's still nice to hear everyone's well wishes. Not to mention how exciting and lively the festivities are. They are fun no matter how many times I repeat them." Lila admitted with a merry grin.
"Parties are pretty fun; especially from our birthday boi~." Glory teased flashing a wink at him making Lilia chortled at the playful ravenette.
"Since you adore lively parties, let me ask you this." Glory suggested.
"Ask away, Firefly." He calmly insisted.
"Out of all the birthdays you have, which birthday left you an impression the most?" Glory asks. Lilia tilts his head a little.
"Hmm let me think... I received a message from one of my in-game buds. He was the first one to congratulate me this year."
"That's nice of him." She stated with a grin.
"Indeed. I was just playing the game, as usual per usual, then the moment the clock struck midnight, a whole swarm of celebratory messages popped up in the game chat." Lilia soon sighed.
"To tell you the truth, I'd totally forgotten about my birthday. It's pretty old news to me now..." He muttered before grinning genuinely.
"So this made for such a lovely surprise! I should send "Moody Samurai" my sincerest thanks." He admitted.
"And how did your game bud respond?" Glory asks with a grin and curls her brows. Lilia chuckled softly.
"It was an enthusiastic message. "Today is the fated day that my best friend (lol) was born. I have been super hype waiting for it lmao. I've revered your moves from the day we met, and continue to do so every day. A play style that's wild and rambunctious and that enraptures all those that witness it, but one that still permits any noob to play without fear of dying, as they know you will be there to shield the frail. Also the play of social degenerate that will stay up all night to play video games... Oh, I'm getting emotional. To my best net-friend, happy birthday!"." He explained with full detail.
"Something like that. What a passionate outpouring of feelings, right?" He assumes with a nonchalant grin. Glory sweatdrops.
It sounds like what Idia would say when he's gaming honestly...
She thought. The older fae wasn't fazed and chuckled softly.
"They've congratulated me every single year since I met them too. This "Gloomy Samurai" is a truly dependable guy." Lilia complimented as he chuckled.
"Kufufu... To think that I could make new friends through the internet... All thanks to being blessed with such a long life." Lilia bragged.
"Well faes are immortal so it's not too surprising..." Glory pointed out.
"True, but being immortal means I get to explore more new things from human culture. After all, humans are interesting beings." He chirped. Glory rolled her eyes with a grin.
"Right. Moving on, do you have any hobbies? If so, what are they?" Glory asks curiously.
"Simple. I love traveling alone." He answered.
"Oh? What kind of places do you like to travel?" Glory inquires curling her brows.
"When I was younger I had a whole mountain of obligations and duties, so I never got to leave the Valley of Thorns. But in recent years it's been rather peaceful, so I can finally relax and do as I please. As long as I got this kind of free time I can fly all around the world."
"The Valley of Thorns sounded like a mysterious place. What's it like?" Glory asks curiously.
"The Valley of Thorns is a rather insular place after all, perhaps my desire to travel is because I spend so long in that place. Sitting down with someone from another culture is a great experience. You can learn from it, but above all, it's also a lot of fun!" Lilia chirped before placing a finger under his chin.
"However, I think I might've already visited every tourist destination by now... So it's been a little hard to pick a place I haven't been to yet." Then he sighed.
"Geez, at least traveling is still fun on its own." He stated.
"Sounds like a fun experience. Did ya brought back souvenirs during your travels?" Glory asks curiously.
"Of course. It's one of the little pleasures that comes with travel." He said as Lilia pulls out little triangular tapestries from his box. Glory's glimmer and pulls out the two items out of the box.
"Hey I know these. These are pennants." She chirps, puzzling the older fae.
"Pardon?" He asks curiously staring at her confusingly. Glory grinned and showed him the pennants.
"These are pennants. They are commemorative flags that typically used to show support for a particular athletic team, but in modern times they used it for prized collectibles if people are sports enthusiasts." Glory explained.
"Aah so that's what they are. I often buy those little triangular tapestries on my travels. I always give them to Malleus. He'd always look so happy, decorating his room with them. You see, the next king doesn't have the luxury of leaving the country as easily as I do. So goods from other countries are an absolute rarity." Lilia informed.
"Though I'm surprised that you actually have these in your world, but it's a shame that humans hardly still sells pennants these days in our world." Lilia then sighed.
"What a bummer, after I spend so much time finding and collecting them. The passage of time is one lonely thing. I'd like to bring back some souvenirs for Malleus whenever I travel, but I'm not sure what I should bring with me instead...." He wallows, but Glory smiles softly at him and snaps her finger making the older fae glance at his human girlfriend.
"Why not give him a T-shirt? I heard it's all over the towns in Twisted Wonderland." Glory suggested.
"I'm sure Mal would love something new in the table." Glory pointed out. Lilia perks into a smile.
"Oh, right! Nowadays there are T-shirts that say the name of the tourist spot all over the place! I'll just buy those instead. Kufufu... thank you, Glorious. I'm sure Malleus will be pleased." He chuckled cheerily and Glory giggled softly with a gentle smile.
"No problem, Lilia." Glory replied.
"Moreover, do you know everybody in Diasomnia prior to enrollment besides Mal, Silver, and Sebek?" She asks curiously and the older fae shook his head.
"Not everyone. Only Malleus, Silver, and Sebek are the only ones I know since they were kids." He replied.
"How long?" Glory asks.
"I known Malleus for so long since Silver and Sebek are a little further apart in age. I wouldn't sum up our connections as something as short as "since they were kids" however." He informed shrugging his shoulders.
"Well, regardless, I'm the one who trained all three of them. What do you say? I'm quite the instructor, right?" Lilia asks with a chill grin.
"May I asked what kind of training did you do with the others?" Glory asks curiously.
"Could you give some examples of the kinds of training you did?" She suggested. Lilia grins.
"I was quite the Spartan with Silver and Sebek." He said.
"I'd have them swim up against the rapids, or climb the mountains where the air is thin..." Lilia informed as he flips the strand of his hair.
"But one day I noticed how these two boys were clenching their teeth, doing their best to endure such severe training. That's when I was suddenly struck with a thought. I've retired from the frontlines, and these children aren't my subordinates. Why am I raising them as if they were my soldiers? Isn't there something wrong with this picture?..." He asks before forming a grin.
"That's when I decided I ought to raise them like children instead, with a much more hand's-off approach. Children should be allowed to play freely, while the adults watch over and protect them from the shadows." He explained with his eyes glimmering with awe as he fondly looks back at his good Ole days as their caretaker.
"Ever since then it looked like Silver and Sebek were having a blast! They'd play tag in the Woods of Wild Beasts. Hide and seek in the Vast Deserts. Elevation tag on Hell's Needle Mountain. Red light, green light in the Scorching Waste. As a result, both of them grew up so strong and healthy! My childrearing policy worked out great!" Lilia chirped beaming fondly at those great memories of Silver and Sebek.
"Seems like wild experience for them." Glory complimented.
"Kufufu... What do you say, should I train you too?" He asks curiously with eyes glint with cunningness.
"I could show you some new tricks that you never seen.~ Something that Merlin can't possibly do." He suggested with a sly grin. Glory creased her brows, aware of his cunning glint in his eyes. Glory closed her eyes with a coy smile letting out a hum.
"Tempting offer, but...I'll think about it." She said as Glory opens one eye.
"After all, a girl has to think before she makes her decision.~" Glory reassured with a calm smirk. Lilia chuckles softly.
"Why of course, Glorious. You're the queen after all, my dearest firefly. Feel free to take your time and let me know." He reassured and Glory giggled.
"I'll take it into consideration..." Glory stated as she glance back at her journal.
"Next, I'd like to ask you about your club activities. You're in the Light Music Club, are you a fan of music?" She asks and the older fae chortles.
"Indeed! The most suitable hobby for me is one that I can spend a lot of time learning." He chirped.
"The eras and countries may change, but there are a few things everyone still enjoys no matter what. Music is one of those things. I can play a variety of instruments, and write lyrics too. After all, I had plenty of time to study. But singing is still my strongest point!" He cheered. Glory's eyes gleamed in excitement as she beams brightly and sits up from her seat with an instant.
"Then we should do a duet together! It'll spice things up in the lounge!!" She suggested beaming brightly at him. Lilia chuckled at the lively and radiant ravenette's adorable excitement.
"Very well, how about we have a birthday recital after the interview then?" Lilia insisted and Glory bobs her head firmly with a radiant grin.
"Absolutely! That'll be so nice!" Glory chirped.
"Kufufu. I can't help but recall Silver's and the other's smiling faces." Lilia chuckles and Glory giggles.
"Can't wait to sing with you!" Glory chirps as she bends down and plants a kiss on his forehead.
"Once again, happy birthday Lilia!" Glory smiles warmly with the fae chuckling softly.
"Why thank you, Glorious." He smiled genuinely as the couple enjoy their time together at his birthday.
