Chapter 2-4: That's the Good Stuff
After a little incident with the fairies, the Tack Club is able to get the fairies to leave them alone.
Deuce sighs in relief, "Phew. Now they'll leave us alone. No more interruptions. It's time to get our fish on!"
Time has passed...
The Track Club members are able to watch a lot of fish.
Deuce counts his catch, "Seven, eight, nine...ten fish for me!"
"I've got eight over here," A track member says.
Another member says, "I caught 13!"
"I got 22. Quite a catch," Jack says, "I thought a little fishing and cooking would be a walk in the park... But I didn't expect to tangle with fairies. That took a lot out of me."
"Yeah. I didn't expect fairies to be attacking us," Jasper says.
Soon, another ghost flies over to check on them, and says, "Oho! I see the Track Club's pulled in a real haul! Once you clean and cook these fish, your lakeside challenge will be complete. We've got a full selection of seasonings and cookware at the camp. Feel free to use whatever you like."
"Okay, let's head back," Deuce says.
But then thought of something, "Actually, what are we gonna make with all this fish? I sometimes helped my mom in the kitchen back home, but not enough that I know how to make anything too elaborate," Then turns to Jack, "How about you, Jack?"
"Same. I can't cook fancy stuff," Jack says, "Pond smelt tastes great when you grill it fresh, though. How does that sound?"
"Hmm..." Deuce replies.
Time has passed...
The Track Club and a few others are grilling the fish. Of course, Grim joins in and Briar is with him to make sure he doesn't scarf everything.
Grim happily says, "Oh yeah, that's the good stuff!"
"Totally. It's tender and flaky and perfectly seasoned!" Deuce says.
"All I did was grill it with some salt," Jack says, "Still, I'm sure eating it with friends around the campfire makes it taste all the better."
"Yeah! Gimme some more!" Grim happily says.
"Grim, we should probably get back to our job and not devour more of their food," Briar says.
"C'mon, just one more fishie! We'll go after that!" Grim says.
"We all know how Grim gets. I don't think anyone will mind if the record keepers take a quick breather," Deuce says.
"Well, I feel bad about taking your food," Briar says.
Deuce turns to Briar, "It's cool. We caught so many that we can afford to share." C'mon, Briar, no need to be shy. Eat up. You too, Jasper."
"Well okay," Briar says.
And decides to join the guys.
Deuce turns to Jack and asks, "So what's the plan after this, Jack?"
"We should probably help out with the other challenges. I bet they'll need a ton of manpower in the mines," Jack says.
"Collecting magestones sounds good to me!" Deuce says.
