Chapter 67: An Even Deeper Trek Tower 2 Part 22

Sometime later, climbing down the stairs.

"We're coming up on the next containment facility. If the map's right, this should be the last one," Leona says. "There are bound to be some seriously powerful Phantoms in there. Better get your head in the game. It's probably hiding in one of the cages. Let's go."

"Yes, sir," Jamil says.

"Sure," Jasper says.

The three soon enter the facility and the place is dark.

"Huh. It's pitch black in here. I can't see a thing," Leona says.

"Yeah. I wonder why the lights are out in here," Jasper says.

"I wonder the same thing," Jamil says, "I'll conjure a light."

Jamil then uses his magic to conjure some light so they can see. However, they are left with a shocking sight.

"What in the world?!" Jamil asks, shocked.

"The cages are smashed to bits. And not just one or two of 'em," Leona says.

"You're right. So many of the cages have been smashed to bits," Jasper says.

Jamil ponders who can do this, "Did Ortho do this? I can't imagine why..." but soon notices something, "Wait, hold on. There are bits of ice on the debris."

"Ice... So the Titan strikes again," Leona says. "I did think our victory was a little anticlimactic last time. This is much better."

"Maybe it was the impact from the fall? Or it could've just thrown a temper tantrum. Either way, it made a real mess of the place," Jamil wonders.

He also notices, "The exit's busted open and frozen over. What's the call here? We could theoretically keep going."

"Right now the Phantoms are all hiding from the Titan, but give 'em a bit and they'll get aggressive again. There's only one way down to the bottom. I don't like the idea of getting pincered between a bunch of Phantoms and the Titan," Leona says. "We need to close that door for our own safety. A containment facility gotta have an emergency lock somewhere."

"An emergency lock, hmm..." Jamil responds, "I think the map mentioned something about that...aha. Here it is!"

Jasper then reads, "'In the event of an emergency, retrieve the key to remotely lock the door from box B-113...'

But when Jamil checks the box, "Wait. There's no key!

"What?" Leona questions.

And notices something off about the box, "There are traces of blot on the box. One of the Phantoms must've gotten to it first. How about that, we got a clever one. Must be waiting for us to leave so it can get outta here and be free."

"It's probably hiding in one of the cages. Let's go find it," Jamil says.
